The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 491: Chapter 281: New Hope for Solving the Case (2)

Mr. Ma said: ”If he is really a disguised member of society, then there must be certain abnormal phenomena in all aspects of his life.”

”So, we will use the 24-hour detention time to further expand the scope and search for more evidence.”

”Besides understanding Li Lei’s behavior in personal life, family, and friends, another aspect is to conduct a scene investigation at his home to see if there are any traces.”

As a former key figure in criminal investigation and team leader, Mr. Ma naturally has a strong ability for logical analysis.

He can see the overall situation from one point. After all, each criminal investigation and case-solving is a process of proposing hypotheses, finding evidence, and verifying those hypotheses.

After a slight pause, Mr. Ma turned and glanced at the three section chiefs.

He turned his head and said: ”Mr. Zhang, how do you see my next arrangement?”

Mr. Zhang nodded and looked around at the other two section chiefs.

At the point where their eyes met, the pupils of the three section chiefs contracted to the size of a needle under the light. Others also nodded.

”I think it’s very feasible.”

”Currently, the other two suspects among these three criminal suspects seem not very suspicious.”

”The suspect in the No. 3 interrogation room has done some illegal things due to a guilty conscience;”

”The suspect in the No. 2 interrogation room indeed appears very innocent, and he proved to be very uncooperative as soon as he entered. This kind of toughness shows that he is very confident and at least innocent.”

”Now it seems that the suspect in the No. 1 interrogation room seems too docile, behaving too normally and standardly, almost like a textbook husband.”

”Alright, given this, we will execute according to this plan.”

Mr. Ma implemented the work arrangements of the three section chiefs and began specific work next.

Then, he looked at Jiang An, his eyes full of recognition and praise.

Mr. Ma stepped forward, raised his hand, patted Jiang An on the shoulder, and said, ”Comrade Jiang An, you have indeed broadened our horizons this time.”

”Having hope is a good thing.”

Jiang An’s lips twitched slightly, and a faint dimple appeared on his right cheek but quickly vanished.

”Mr. Ma, this is just my preliminary thought, it may not be right.”

”If our investigation yields no results, I can’t bear the responsibility.”

”Hahaha, young people need to have enthusiasm, don’t be afraid of carrying responsibility.”

”We will bear it together.”

”Besides, if we only investigate cautiously, how can we compete with criminals fiercely and intelligently?”

Mr. Ma’s laughter made the window frame hum and the sparrows on the branches outside flutter away.

Mr. Zhang listened and nodded gently.

”Exactly, young brother, don’t carry too much psychological burden.”

Through this matter, Mr. Zhang had a greater appreciation for Jiang An.

Previously, he had only heard that Jiang An’s criminal investigation and case-solving skills were very impressive.

This time, he thoroughly realized a truth, Jiang An is an all-round talent.

He is proficient in all eighteen skills of investigation and case-solving.

Finally, Mr. Ma looked at the three section chiefs and the surrounding criminal investigation team members, ”Everyone worked hard tonight.”

He raised his watch and glanced at it, ”Now, I think the time is about right.”

”Let’s have some breakfast next door, fill our stomachs, replenish energy, and prepare for another tough battle.”

Immediately, the group walked to the dumpling shop across the street.

The morning mist stuck to their uniforms, forming tiny water droplets.

At this moment, seeing a dozen people coming again, the shop owner’s face cracked in a smile.

He hurriedly said: ”Leaders, please sit.”

All of them walked into the dumpling shop together.

The shop owner continuously served dozens of baskets of dumplings, then wiped his hands with an apron in front of him.

”Sorry, we didn’t prepare many dumplings today. We will soon make more.”

”It’s okay, we’ll eat while we wait.”

Mr. Zhang took a bite of the dumpling, the hot soup splashed onto his chin, he didn’t bother to wipe it.

The soup burst out instantly, he said: ”This dumpling indeed tastes very different.”

”We haven’t tasted dumplings like this in the capital city.”

Mr. Ma smiled and said: ”If we have the chance, I hope the three section chiefs can come to Jiangcheng as non-governmental visitors and taste our Jiangcheng cuisine.”

”By the way, share some experience to improve our Jiangcheng’s crime-solving capabilities.”

Mr. Zhang smiled and turned to look at the other two section chiefs.

”I’m getting old, and will retire in two years.”

”These two young section chiefs should be able to shoulder heavy responsibilities and provide more technical support for your Jiangcheng.”

While speaking, he turned to look at Jiang An sitting beside him.

”However, with such outstanding talent as Jiang An in Jiangcheng, you hardly need us, the old bones.”

”Not to say we came here to share experience, if we have the chance and conditions, we’d like to invite Jiang An to give a lecture to the national criminal investigation team, sharing his insights and experiences.”

Mr. Ma, hearing this, slapped his thigh gleefully, raising dust from his trouser legs.

This way, it could enhance China’s entire criminal investigation knowledge while showcasing Jiangcheng’s criminal investigation prowess.

Then, he turned to look at Jiang An, his gaze penetrating like X-rays.

”Brother Jiang An, the pressure is on you!”

”In the future, not only must you enhance Jiangcheng’s criminal investigation capabilities but also bear the responsibility of training and instructing criminal investigation cases nationwide.”

”Once this case is over, you must thoroughly thank the three section chiefs for their guidance.”

Upon hearing this, Jiang An immediately stood up, clasped his fists, and said: ”Thanks for your advice and appreciation, this makes my future direction clearer.”

Mr. Zhang said: ”Haha, not just clearer future direction.”

”We actually want you to come back to Dragon Country’s highest criminal investigation research institute for research.”

”But your Mr. Ma and Mr. Li may hold guns to assassinate us.”

”No, it’s not that serious, absolutely must go all out.”

Team leader Li Jian pretended to touch his waist gun, making everyone laugh.

After a delightful breakfast, everyone began to take action.

According to the established ideas and methods, the case will now be divided into three groups:

The first group led by Team Leader Li focuses on investigating Li Lei’s personal emotions, especially the reasons for the past three divorce cases, whether it was incompatibility or other reasons.

The second group led by Team Leader Fu delves into Li Lei’s personal circle, portraying his character through colleagues and friends;

The third group led by Jiang An proceeds to Li Lei’s home for scene investigation, focusing on searching for personal items to find clues or reflect personal characteristics.

Thirty minutes later, Jiang An, along with Zhang Yean, Wan, and others, went to conduct a scene investigation at Li Lei’s home.

”Knock, knock, knock!” After three knocks, a middle-aged woman holding a baby emerged from inside.

Seeing six uniformed police officers at the door, her face flashed a trace of surprise.

The baby in her arms suddenly started crying, she hurriedly rocked him twice, then quickly asked: ”Where is Li Lei? Has he abandoned us mother and child?”

Jiang An stepped forward and showed his police badge.

The metal clip of the badge reflected a dazzling light in the sunset.

”Hello, we are from the Jiangcheng Criminal Investigation Team.”

”Now we want to conduct a scene investigation at your home, please cooperate.”

Seeing the police badge, the woman froze in place.

Then, Zhang Yean stepped forward and spoke softly: ”Sister! We are working to uncover the truth.”

”If the matter is unrelated to Li Lei, we will definitely have him return soon to accompany you.”

Upon hearing this, the woman nodded helplessly.

At this time, her face showed no surprise or doubt, and she just mechanically nodded.

”This child is still young, we just hope Li Lei can return soon.”

”Please believe us, if he is innocent, he definitely won’t be wronged.”

”But if he has done illegal things, we will not spare him either.”
