The Forensic Doctor Better Than a Detective

Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Advancing on Three Fronts Simultaneously!

Lei Ming listened, his gaze somewhat evasive, then immediately smiled and said, ”Officer, are you joking?”

”She was my ex-girlfriend, why would I have nightmares about that!”

Li Jian walked over holding the group photo, squatted beside Lei Ming, and said, ”We’re here today for this woman.”

Then, Li Jian said sternly, ”Take him away!”

Meanwhile, Jiang An and Zhang Yean drove back to the city bureau’s criminal investigation team.

Through the police internal network, they found out that Qin Yan now runs a shoe factory in the development zone.

Jiang An dialed Captain Li Jian’s phone number.

”Mr. Li!”

At this moment, Li Jian was stuck in traffic on the city ring highway and asked, ”Jiang An, what’s the matter?”

Jiang An said, ”We just found through sorting that Zhang Qian’s husband had a mistress for four years before his death, Qin Yan, this woman is a suspect.”

Li Jian was taken aback at the news.

In the earlier investigations, there was no highlight of this information.

He then asked, ”How did you find out?”

Jiang An replied, ”We got it from his ex-wife, Li Lan!”

”Ex-wife?”

Jiang An continued, ”Mr. Li, my senior Zhang Yean and I plan to find that woman now.”

Looking at the congested road ahead, Captain Li Jian felt anxious.

His eyebrows were tightly knitted.

Thinking that the criminal investigation team officers were all out for field investigations today, Li Jian said a bit angrily, ”There’s a traffic accident ahead here on my side, it probably won’t clear up for a while, and Mr. Chen has gone to the town.”

”The two of you going alone makes me uneasy.”

Jiang An smiled and said, ”Mr. Li, please rest assured.”

”I studied Taekwondo and even won first prize in the city.”

”The key is, my senior Zhang Yean is a famous sharpshooter from the police academy.”

”Dealing with a woman, we won’t be in danger!”

On the other end of the phone, Li Jian was silent for a long while, then said, ”Safety first! Report immediately if anything happens.”

”Yes, Mr. Li!”

After hanging up, Jiang An turned to Zhang Yean and said, ”Senior! Mr. Li agreed.”

Zhang Yean curiously said, ”Can’t tell, you’re a Taekwondo first prize winner?”

Jiang An grinned, ”That was just a competition!”

”In real life, I haven’t found the opportunity to fully utilize it yet.”

”I got full marks in the combat skills subject at the police academy, next time we can spar together.”

Jiang An smiled and said, ”Who would have thought, you’re a skilled heroine.”

Zhang Yean raised her hand in a gun gesture and said, ”Moreover, I’m the police academy sharpshooter.”

Jiang An asked, ”Are you really a hundred percent hit rate?”

Zhang Yean laughed, ”Occasionally I miss.”

”But now with the police-issued pistol having 20 bullets, it’s more than enough!”

Meanwhile, Chen He led a group of people to Qingshui Town.

They arrived at a two-story house, which was already dilapidated, with weeds growing in front of the door.

This is Zhang Qian’s birthplace.

Then, Chen He turned and walked to the yard next door and asked, ”Is anyone there?”

After a while, an elderly person with graying hair came out from inside.

Chen He said, ”Auntie, hello!”

”We’re officers from the criminal investigation team of the public security bureau, and we’d like to ask you something.”

In the mind of the elderly, the police held high regard, and she hurriedly came over, opened the door, and said, ”Officers, come in!”

Then, Chen He and the other officers went inside.

The elderly woman warmly brought out three plastic stools and handed them over.

”Officers, what do you want to ask about?”

Chen He turned to point to the yard next door and asked, ”Auntie, are you familiar with their family?”

The elderly woman turned to look, sighed, and nodded.

”How could I not be familiar? We’ve been neighbors for decades.”

”But, their family is also unfortunate, the old man died early, and later the family of three was killed.”

Chen He continued to ask, ”How well do you know Zhang Qian’s mother, Huang Ying?”

”Yingzi had a good personality, we got along very well.”

”Later, her eldest daughter Zhang Qian got married and she moved to enjoy life in the big city, never expected her life would end.”

”In the days you spent together, did Huang Ying ever have a feud with others?”

The elderly woman shook her head, ”No! Yingzi was kind-hearted and never took advantage of others.”

”Years ago, there was a boy from the neighboring village whose parents died, leaving him an orphan, he was Zhang Qian’s classmate, both attending Qingshui Town Middle School.”

”Yingzi thought he was pitiful and often invited the boy to have meals at her home on weekends.”

Hearing this, Chen He suddenly became alert.

He asked urgently, ”Was that boy Zhang Qian’s classmate?”

The elderly woman nodded, ”They were classmates!”

”Yingzi said she didn’t have a son of her own, so she took him as a godson.”

”Auntie, do you know this male classmate’s name?”

The elderly woman thought for a long time, saying, ”His nickname seemed to be Chuangzi.”

”His real name, I don’t know.”

Chen He nodded and continued to ask, ”Do you know where this male classmate is now?”

The elderly woman shook her head.

Finally, Chen He said, ”Auntie, thank you!”

Just as they stepped out of the yard, a nearby officer asked, ”Mr. Chen, where do we head next?”

Chen He said, ”Qingshui Town Middle School.”

”We just need to check the records of Zhang Qian’s middle school classmates to identify the man nicknamed Chuangzi.”

minutes later, Chen He and his team arrived at Qingshui Town Middle School.

In the school’s administrative office, Chen He showed his credentials.

”Hello! We’re officers from the criminal investigation team of the public security bureau, investigating a case and requesting your assistance in retrieving some records.”

A middle-aged man with glasses nodded and said, ”What do you need to search for?”

Chen He said, ”We want to find the list of Zhang Qian’s classmates from 16 years ago.”

Hearing 16 years ago, the man showed a troubled expression.

”The time is so long ago, back then we didn’t have an electronic administrative system, making this inquiry a bit difficult.”

Chen He asked sternly, ”Can it be done or not?”

The man hesitated and said, ”How about you leave a phone number, I’ll inform you to come once it’s found.”

With such urgency, they couldn’t just wait.

Repeated disappointments had already suppressed Chen He’s emotions greatly.

He raised his head, staring at the man across, looking for a moment.

Then, Chen He said word by word, ”I want to search now!”

”And, we will accompany you!”

Facing the serious demeanor of the three officers, the man reluctantly nodded and led Chen He to the archives of Qingshui Middle School.

minutes later, Chen He found the student nicknamed ”Chuangzi.”

His real name was ”Wang Chuang.”

He was in the same class as Zhang Qian for all three years of high school, his parents died accidentally.

Chen He made a copy of Wang Chuang’s personal school records and took an ID photo.

He gave a slight grin, looked at the man with glasses, and said in a deep voice, ”Now it seems, checking the archives isn’t necessarily complex.”

Then, the three quickly left the school archives room.

Just outside the high school’s gate, Chen He told the accompanying officers, ”Contact the criminal investigation information query department immediately, and check Wang Chuang’s travel and accommodation records.”
