Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Why Did the Killer Do This?

Jiang An replied, ”Of course, it can be distinguished.”

”If this bloodstain was formed when the male victim instinctively touched his face while being attacked, in such a tense situation, his actions would be very fast due to high excitement.”

”Thus, in this situation, the speed at which the bloodstain contact point is formed and leaves is very rapid.”

Then Jiang An pointed to the male victim’s face and said in a deep voice, ”The blood wiping traces on this victim’s face don’t have the characteristics of being wiped quickly.”

”On the contrary, based on my understanding of bloodstain pattern analysis, I think it matches the scenario where someone else’s bloodstained hand gently touched the face with even a short pause.”

”This fully indicates that the bloodstain on the male victim’s face was formed by someone else, not himself.”

As soon as Jiang An finished speaking, Zhang Yean touched her cheek and then quickly brushed it again.

She felt the different pressures and nodded in understanding.

At this moment, Jiang An stared at the pictures, lost in thought, with a question emerging in his mind.

The murderer has already killed him, so why still caress his face?

After preliminary analysis, it has been confirmed that the murderer is female.

If this female murderer’s sole purpose was to kill Zhang Qian, then why caress her husband’s face?

This touch between a man and a woman must have special meaning.

While Jiang An was deeply pondering, Zhang Yean brought a bottle of red ink and two whole grapefruits from the adjacent office.

She placed the materials in front of Jiang An and said softly, ”These are props, let’s conduct an experiment.”

After hearing this, Jiang An glanced over and smiled, saying, ”Senior Sister, your practical spirit impresses me.”

Zhang Yean replied, ”I did investigative experiments with my teacher when I was a student at the police academy.”

”Practice is the only criterion for testing truth.”

Jiang An nodded, ”If we can verify the previous conclusion through experimentation, that would be perfect.”

Then, Zhang Yean first spread a few sheets of white paper on the conference table and placed the two grapefruits on them.

In order to record the entire experimental process, Jiang An specially picked up a camera to take photos.

Zhang Yean opened the red ink bottle and said, ”Are you ready to take pictures?”

Jiang An replied, ”Senior Sister, I’m ready.”

She saw Zhang Yean pick up the ink bottle with her right hand and pour some ink into her left palm.

Then she put down the ink bottle and rubbed her palms together, looking as eager as if fighting was imminent.

At this moment, Zhang Yean’s hands were covered in red ink.

This would certainly look terrifying at night.

Next, Zhang Yean gently caressed the right grapefruit with both hands, leaving ten fingerprints on the light yellow peel, looking very neat.

Then she touched the left grapefruit again.

However, this time the touch was very fast, almost a swipe.

In an instant, there were several red marks on the exterior of the grapefruit peel.

After doing all of this, Jiang An immediately used a DSLR camera to take pictures.

Zhang Yean glanced at the ink marks on the two grapefruits and said, ”There really is a big difference.”

Subsequently, she turned her head to look at the projection screen of the male victim’s face.

”Strange! Why doesn’t it appear so obvious in the photos?”

Jiang An replied, ”Because there is a lot of ink on your hands, and the ink color is more vibrant than human blood.”

”I see.”

Zhang Yean raised her hands, looked at them, and speculated, ”Did the murderer wipe their hands before touching the victim’s face?”

Jiang An nodded, saying, ”I think that’s a strong possibility.”

He turned to the projector and again brought out an original scene photo of the living room from the folder.

After observing for a moment, he pointed to the nightgown of victim Zhang Qian and said, ”Senior Sister, do you see hand-wiping marks on Zhang Qian’s nightgown?”

Following Jiang An’s direction, Zhang Yean saw scattered bloodstains on the hem of Zhang Qian’s nightgown, looking like clouds, piece by piece.

Zhang Yean said, ”This area really looks like hand-wiping marks.”

A moment later, Zhang Yean saw Jiang An furrowing his brows and asked, ”What’s wrong? Still thinking about something?”

Jiang An nodded and said, ”I’m thinking about why the murderer would do this.”

Meanwhile.

Li Jian led a team to the Maternity Hospital.

This hospital was where Zhang Qian’s sister Zhang Lu Yao worked before her death.

Standing at the entrance of the Maternity Hospital, officer Wan Junjie said, ”Chief, Zhang Lu Yao has been dead for eight years. Will we find anything now by investigating?”

Li Jian looked up at the Maternity Hospital sign and said, ”Other than this route, we don’t have a better option now.”

After saying this, the four of them went inside.

By the guidance desk at the Maternity Hospital, Li Jian showed his badges and said, ”Hello! I’d like to see your head nurse.”

A hint of surprise flashed across the face of the girl opposite, and she said, ”May I ask what you need her for?”

Li Jian replied seriously, ”That’s not for you to ask.”

Immediately, the girl blushed and said, ”I’ll call her right away.”

”No need! We’ll go find her.”

”Where is her office?”

After a slight hesitation, she said, ”Her office is in room 503.”

”Thank you!”

After saying this, Li Jian quickly turned and left.

In the elevator, Wan Junjie whispered, ”Why did that nurse seem so evasive when speaking? Could it be that the head nurse has a shady past?”

Li Jian said, ”We’ll find out soon enough.”

Two minutes later, Li Jian arrived at the door of office 503, and the door was closed.

Li Jian raised his hand and knocked on the door.

After a long while, a woman’s voice came, ”Who is it?”

”We are the Criminal Investigation Team! We’re here to ask you some questions.”

”Just a moment.”

Three minutes later, there was a soft click from behind the door, and then the doorknob turned, and the office door opened.

A messy-haired middle-aged woman appeared, smiling as she said, ”Sorry to keep you waiting!”

”Just now, I was discussing something important with a colleague.”

Then a bald middle-aged man waved his hand and quickly walked out.

Li Jian glanced over and smiled, saying, ”It’s okay! We only waited a few minutes.”

The four walked in, and Wan Junjie saw a gold men’s glasses on the coffee table next to the sofa.

He picked it up, smiling with a grin, walked to the door, and said, ”Hey, you forgot your glasses.”

The bald man returned at the call and quickly left with the glasses.

In the office, Li Jian showed his badge and said, ”We’re here to inquire about an old homicide case.”
