Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 498: The Plans of the Gods

So, he basically had the controller to Finality. But he still vividly remembered the words of Finality.

Finality was a crucial aspect of Nexus. Having comprehended it and achieved the Crown of Finality, he was only one step away.

Now, what was left was the law of fate?

But he honestly had no clue where he was going to find the law of fate or study the concept of fate as a Fateless One. It was quite ironic.

’What do you think, Fragment, after that lore drop? Do you feel your memories coming back?’ Grey conversed with the Fragment.

[Nothing. But I do roughly remember some of the things mentioned by the god Kaelith. I do remember getting injured.]

[But it all makes sense now. If everything that is said by this god is the truth, then we might be in really big trouble.]

’Lin Fang, huh?’ Grey nodded.

The Core was in his old world, the central point of the multiverse. The only way to access that world was by having someone from there show you the path. He didn’t know how exactly it worked, but Lin Fang was also from his world. If the paragons were to become aware of such a fact, then it would be possible for them to enter that world and get their hands on the Core.

That was the last thing they wanted right now.

For now, his goal was clear: find Lin Fang and also look into other potential transmigrators from Earth.

”Either way,” Grey swept his gaze over the god. ”You have two options. Continue living here or come back to my Nexus Domain.”

”Wherever the Empress goes, we will follow her.” Kaelith turned towards everyone, who nodded at him.

”She is naturally going to the Nexus Domain,” Grey said matter-of-factly.

Their empress in question was in Grey’s lap, clinging tightly onto him as she enjoyed the moment. The conversation between the gods and Grey had still not registered to Lia, who was too focused on her man. Being tightly held put her at ease.

”Hello, anyone there?” Grey lightly knocked on Lia’s head. She looked up with bright eyes.

Having reached the 5th rank, the Miss Lia from the old Nova City was nowhere to be seen. The Lia right now was a hundred times more beautiful than before. She had an exquisite and well-proportioned body, and she wore a tight outfit that really displayed her figure. This was the beauty that clung onto Grey like a koala.

”Let’s get going, shall we?” Grey ruffled Lia’s hair and asked.

”Okay.” Lia nodded with a small blush on her face. Staring at Grey’s face, she had imagined some things and could not help but feel shy.

Little Hong rolled her eyes seeing Lia’s expression.

This divine god was actually a very obscene individual, thinking about obscene things while in public.

Little Hong couldn’t see Lia’s thoughts or hear them, but she knew what Lia was thinking about.

”Shameless.” Little Hong clicked her tongue.

But Little Hong had already come to terms with it.

She was older than this universe, yet she was the daughter of two teenagers who had just turned into adults... no, a teenager who had turned into an adult and one who still had not.

At this rate, by the last chaos seal, she would outgrow her!

But she couldn’t possibly allow such a thing. How could she look older than her parents? That would be shameful.

Soon, Kaelith gathered all the gods in the main area of the palace. All the gods descended with wary expressions, only to see a man with not an ounce of divine aura tightly hugging the God Empress with one hand, while the Primordial Axe clung onto his other side.

”...” The gods’ mouths went dry.

No one dared to speak. They knew what this man was capable of doing; if they even so much as spoke a word, they were as good as dead.

”Now, how will we reach the Nexus Domain?” Grey, having settled everything, was hit with a new dilemma.

He had reached the other side of the domain, the place the Origin Will was hiding with evolvers following the Origin Body Evolutionary Path. This was the world of gene optimization. It was the same universe, but everyone here was a gene optimizer.

’What do you think, Heavenly Dao? Should we ask the Origin Will?’

[Probably not. You might not know this, but the Origin Will cannot directly intervene with things unless the world is in danger. It only revealed this location and teleported you here because you threatened to eliminate it. It did so out of fear of dying. Every time an Origin Will intervenes, they have to speak to the Heavenly Dao, and some even get punished by it.]

”What?” Grey was stunned when he heard this.

[I didn’t say anything then because you were dead set on killing someone to get back Lia and Little Hong.]

”Now I feel bad,” Grey said with a bitter look.

He had threatened the thing, and yet it still held its end of the bargain and sent him here to the gods. He didn’t expect there to be hidden consequences.

”Hey, Origin Will. If you are listening, I just wanted to say I want to apologize.” Grey stepped forward and apologized.

It might be annoying, but it was still an act of goodwill.

Just then, an annoyed voice rang out in Grey’s head. ”Hmph, it is not like I wanted your apology or anything. I was already punished by the Heavenly Dao.”

”Now I do not know whether choosing to follow the old Heavenly Dao was the right decision or not.”

”In the end, I waited eons for it, and I was threatened with death by the very same thing I waited for.”

Grey fell silent hearing this. He could see that the Origin Will was sad.

”I am sorry,” Grey repeated with a sigh.

Now he really felt bad.

This lone world had waited for its master, only to be betrayed by it just because he got angry.

”I should stop relying on others so much and manage my emotions.” Grey took this time to reassess himself.
