Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 491: Origin Will, Addressing the elephant in the room

The time was now entirely frozen as a female figure manifested in front of Grey.

”Why have you come?” Grey tilted his head.

”To stop you from doing something stupid.”

”It is painful how unknowledgeable you are about your own existence.”

”You and Tian Yuan, you both must form contracts. Unless you use my power or the Dao of Time’s power, you will destroy the world with each time travel you do.”

”He and you are the only beings that have access to the law of time,” the Origin Will let out a painful sigh.

”Just my luck. Why are there two fateless ones in this world? Haaa...”

”Does that mean you will give me your power to use time powers instead?” Grey was overjoyed. ”If I borrow your power or use the Dao of Time’s help, it shouldn’t create a divergence line, right?”

The theory of divergence was only applicable to those who held the law of time. Borrowing power from the main source directly negated the consequences. It wouldn’t be him doing it, but rather the creator (the Dao of Time) or the person that had access to use the creator’s power (the Origin Will).

”Hell no.” The Origin Will looked at Grey with a darkened expression.

”What the hell. I’m using time stop then.” Grey’s expression darkened.

”You...” The Origin Will was speechless. ”If you do that, everyone you know will die. I won’t allow you to do that in the first place; I will kick you out of the universe. Tsk, tsk.”

”You can do that?” Grey opened his eyes wide.

[It can.] Fragment responded in the Origin Will’s place.

”Why are you against giving me time powers then?”

”The Heavenly Dao will eliminate this world for starters. Is that a good enough reason?” the Origin Will asked, clearly pissed. ”You should know more than anyone about the Heavenly One. Not the one you own, but that thing that supports Tian Yuan, aka the thing that oversees all of endless reality.”

”Wow, you are so rude. How can you call the Heavenly Dao ’the thing’?” Grey was baffled.

This Origin Will had a lot of personality, didn’t she?

”I don’t care. It might be hard for me to admit, but I am an old-timer from the time of your Heavenly Dao.”

[Who are you again?]

”Fuck you!” the Origin Will got pissed. ”Is this what I get for still being on your side when others already switched sides?”

[Ahem. Thanks?]

Fragment had no ounce of gratification in its voice.

”...” The Origin Will’s expression darkened. ”I’ll destroy this universe and kill myself.”

”Calm down.” Grey was speechless. ”Why are you so dramatic?”

”I feel insulted for waiting for its arrival for so long when my fellow brothers and sisters told me to switch already.” The Origin Will gritted her teeth.

”What do you even get from switching either way?”

”Uh. Our world has enough history to reach a higher world level. Many of my sisters have already transcended as higher worlds, but we are still like three tiers behind, the Heavenly Dao told me it will help me if i switch too.”

”Are we? Skill issue,” Grey replied. ”This is what happens when you don’t give the Fateless One respect.”

”F**k you. It is because of you and Tian Yuan that I can’t even go to sleep. I’ve been observing you both with my eyes peeled in case you both decide to change fate or even disrupt the timeline in a way that can end the world.”

”And you, you are the one that caused the most change in fate. Hmph. And you still dare to ask me for time powers? Go beg the Dao of Time.”

”You are so useless.” Grey clicked his tongue.

”You... I’ll throw you out of the universe.” The Origin Will waved her hands, but Fragment stopped her in time.

[Were you seriously going to throw him into the chaos outside?] Fragment’s stern voice came.

”No.” The Origin Will shrugged. ”I was gonna make him fall down into a black hole for five minutes straight. I know better than to mess with a fateless one.”

”It is good that you are addressing the elephant in the room, which is me,” Grey said while arrogantly flicking his hair back. ”Now give me the power of time.”

”No.” The Origin Will looked at him with a deadpan face as she stuck her tongue out. ”I told you, right? I can’t give it to you, or else the Heavenly Dao that governs the endless reality will do something to our world.”

”Fine,” Grey sighed. ”I’ll have a conversation with the Dao of Time.”

”Do whatever, but make sure you don’t do something stupid.”

”I want to at least sleep for eight hours.”

Grey shrugged as time began to move again.

”Alright, Fragment. I think that’s enough; we should save the rest of the power for later emergencies.”

[You are right.] Fragment cut off the Heavenly Mandate, instantly going back to its previous state.

It revolved around Grey as he faced everyone around him, who were looking at him in speechlessness.

”You... how do you keep summoning the Heavenly Dao? I thought the first time was a coincidence and happened because of your sainthood. But it doesn’t have any connection.”

”I’m the elephant in the room.” Grey nodded with a serious look.

”...” Everyone exchanged bewildered glances when they heard this.

Did this guy have a screw loose after slaying two 8th rankers? Was it a side effect? Even Fragment thought the same. Why did he keep mentioning he was the elephant in the room?

”Well, meet Fragment.” Grey pointed at Fragment. ”It is the Heavenly Dao.”

”WHAT?!” Everyone who wasn’t aware of it collectively gasped.

”You don’t mean...”

”Yes, that is what I mean,” Grey blinked.

”Anyways, let’s get out of here. I got some things to do.”

Just then, Xia Qingyue came forward and bowed in front of everyone.

”Thank you, Grey. I really mean it. If not for you, things would have never gone this way.”

”I never believed in miracles before, but ever since meeting you, you’ve continued proving me and the world wrong. You continue to do the impossible.”

Xia Qingyue looked up and gave Grey a genuine smile.

”In a public lobby?! This is extremely embarrassing.”
