Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 496: A core from the ascendancy domain, something about perfection?

”So, how many of you are here on this planet?” Grey sat in a golden chair casually. To his right was Lia, and to his left was Little Hong, who clung to him as she indifferently stared at the gods.

”There are roughly 2,500 Reincarnated Gods here,” the eldest 8th ranker spoke. His name was Kaelith.

”When did you all awaken?” Grey tilted his head and asked.

Since Lia, their literal empress, had only awakened recently, he was curious.

”I personally awakened two years ago,” Kaelith spoke. ”For us to wake up, we need a trigger. The concept of divinity is everywhere; as long as something remotely close to it is near us, we will awaken to our godhood.”

”Interesting,” Grey mumbled. For Lia, it was Little Hong’s presence on the Blue Star.

”Anyways, I want to know some things. I hope you all will make it clear to me.”

”Alright.” Kaelith nodded. ”Having reached the 8th rank, I have already awakened my memories.”

”Perfect,” Grey nodded.

”Let’s start with question number one.”

”What and where did the God World come from? How is it any different from the other higher worlds?” Grey tilted his head and asked.

”It is a fragment from the Ascendancy Domain,” Kaelith spoke. ”The boundless energetic expressions that exist above all the higher worlds made it as a gate to the higher worlds.”

”The God World, God Relics, the gods, the God Realms in the God World... they are all part of the Ascendancy Domain. We are the gatekeepers to the real world. That being made us so we can regulate the endless reality, and at the same time, it also gave us and the other beings it created a task.”

”A task, you say?” Grey’s eyes lit up hearing this.

”Yes.” Kaelith looked around at the other gods.

”If it is fine, can we use our god powers to influence the information layer so the information here does not get out?”

”You can do that?”

”Yes, through our god techniques,” Kaelith spoke. ”The mecha race are also beings from the Ascendancy Domain, and as beings from there as well, we also have such capabilities.”

”What the hell?” Grey was stunned by this piece of information.

The mecha race was from the Ascendancy Domain?

This was honestly news to him.

He was curious about their technique; hence, he let them use it.

Soon, the information layer around them began to corrupt violently.

[Your comprehension defies the heavens! By observing the technique ’God-Tier Override: Information Void’, you have comprehended the real name of the information layer: ’Akashic Records’.]

[You have comprehended the technique ’God-Tier Override: Information Void’.]

”Oh wow.” Grey rolled his eyes seeing this.

Akashic Records?

Of course it was.

He knew about it. It was a very popular theory back on his old Earth.

As for the God-Tier Override, it was plausible. It seemed like divine energy could alter the information layer. But that was it. That was all they could do.

”But there are holes in your corruption as well,” Grey replied calmly as he snapped his fingers. Data energy and information currents combined as Grey enforced high-tier data corruption, easily overtaking the gods’ technique.

”This...” The gods exchanged glances with mixed looks seeing this.

”Always showing off the chance he gets.” Lia on the side could not help but look at Grey speechlessly.

But at the same time, she felt warm in her heart. This was her man, a being with a status even higher than hers. Even the gods had to treat him with respect.

Whenever she was around Grey, she could not help but feel safe.

Unconsciously, she jumped into Grey’s lap.

”Hey, the others are watching.” Grey’s lips twitched. ”And it has only been a week and a half at best since I left the Blue Star.”

”I missed you. That is a lot of time,” Lia said with a small smile blooming on her face as she buried her face in Grey’s chest. ”Thank you for coming for me. I will never do such a thing as leaving your side again. Even in death.”

”...” The gods blinked and turned their heads away.

This public display of affection... their empress was pretty shameless, was she not?

Grey sighed and held onto her tightly.

”What about me?” Little Hong, who had her hands wrapped around Grey’s arm, asked with a grumble. ”Why is Mom getting all the love?”

”Damn, are you out of your rebellious phase?” Grey was stunned.

Was this not the same girl who refused to call him father a month back?

The other chaos seal had severely altered her again, it seemed.

Sighing, he turned to the gods who were awkwardly whistling at the scene.

This man... he was truly capable, wasn’t he?

A daughter so strong she could rival the ancient Primordial God Pangu, and a lover that took the mantle of the God Empress.

How many gods had dreamt of such a status?

”Anyways, where were we?”

”Yes, Lord Grey. The task.” The gods glanced at each other before speaking. ”It is of the utmost secrecy and that is the end goal for us gods. Once we find it, we were promised a high seat in the Ascendancy Domain.”

”So what is it?”

”It is a Core.”

”A Core?”

”Yes.”

”I do not know exactly what the Core is, but the last being that had it is someone known as the Chaos Emperor.”

”Chaos Emperor?” Grey’s eyes went wide when he heard that.

”Yes. That man is a scary being. He put up a good fight against the paragons, beings from the Ascendancy Domain, and was close to overthrowing the old Heavenly Dao.”

”He is the reason why the old Heavenly Dao got injured, allowing the current Heavenly Dao to take the opportunity to completely shatter it.”

”Speaking of which.”

”The laws of the endless reality, the information layer, and even the concept of evolution...”

”All of this was formed from the Ascendancy Core from the Ascendancy Domain.”

”The very concept of existence is tied to that Core.”

”The endless reality, according to the Ascendancy Domain, is not a real world. They merely view our world as a dream.”

”The Core created it all when a great war broke out in the domain for a fragment of it. People would kill their own families for that Core.”

”WHAT?!” Grey’s expression twisted in disbelief.

This was a crucial piece of information. Grey’s heart skipped a beat.

”Does this Core have a name?”

”I do not know.”

”The Core here is merely a fragment. The rest is said to be in the Ascendancy Domain itself. The boundless expression that once created the ancient Primordial God Pangu said that this Core is the doorway to perfection. There can only be a sole being controlling its energy. He said a being that can control its energy has still yet to be born, but learning the energy is possible through the full Core.”

”With the Core and its energy, one would be able to glimpse at perfection. The core contains the code, the energy is what you need to make it work. That is what our ancient ancestor told us.”

[Grey!!] The instant this piece of information was revealed, even the Fragment could not stay still anymore.

”Nexus.” Grey’s eyelids trembled at the realization.
