Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 451: Another System User in the wild!

Elder Rigard glanced at Grey once and then nodded at him subtly.

Then he turned back to Jeremiah just as quickly, and a bright smile formed on his wrinkled face. ”Good lad. It looks like you are incredibly close to the Origin Seed Realm.”

Hearing this, the crowd gasped in surprise.

”Close to the Origin Seed? As expected of you, Jeremiah,” David praised with a wide smile on his face. ”You exceed my expectations.”

”I was just lucky, Uncle,” Jeremiah replied modestly.

The one who was the most thrilled by this news was Anderson. This was his own flesh and blood. The fact that he managed to reach so close to the Origin Seed Realm at the young age of twenty was a massive feat! He was highly powerful and could easily match the top geniuses of the main clan.

However, amidst all this praise, Grey was looking at Jeremiah with a highly strange light in his eyes.

[System: Your comprehension defies the Heavens! By observing a golden finger, you have gained comprehension into ’System’.]

A distinct golden light shone deep within Jeremiah’s soul, which simply could not hide from Grey’s enhanced probing.

The exact instant it was passively detected, Jeremiah had a highly strange, guarded look appear on his face.

Grey’s lips, on the other hand, began to rapidly twitch.

What the hell? A System user in the wild? Was his brother perhaps a literal Son of Heaven? No, he could not be a Son of Heaven, right? He looked far too arrogant and proud of himself. Did not the Sons of Heaven usually try to look incredibly humble and stay low-key for no logical reason whatsoever?

Just then, Elder Rigard spoke up again. ”As a reward, I will gift Jeremiah this Origin Reforging Pill.”

A bright light shone, and a medicinal pill with a glowing golden hue appeared in the air. It shot directly toward Jeremiah, who swiftly caught it with a deeply surprised look.

”What?! An Origin Reforging Pill?” the crowd gasped.

The Origin Reforging Pill allowed an Evolver to drastically strengthen their Origin Core once again after initially forming it. There were fewer than a thousand of them in the entirety of the starry sky! And the rich golden hue radiating around the pill confirmed that it was a high-grade treasure. A rainbow hue would have dictated a peerless grade.

[System: Your comprehension defies the Heavens! By observing an Origin Reforging Pill, you have successfully comprehended the Origin Balancing Pill.]

Grey, meanwhile, was quietly having a field trip with his rapid comprehensions.

”This pill... Elder Rigard, so you really did have it safely stored with you,” Anderson said with a helpless look on his face. He clearly remembered practically begging Rigard for this exact pill back when he was a 5th Ranker.

”I was strictly saving it for a true genius like your son,” Elder Rigard coughed softly to clear his throat.

”Thank you, Elder Rigard,” Jeremiah bowed deeply in respect. ”I will never forget this massive favor.”

”Do not disappoint the Arclight family,” Elder Rigard said calmly.

Then, both Jeremiah and Juli walked directly toward Angela and Anderson.

”You kids, welcome back.” Angela stepped forward and hugged them tightly with a soft sigh.

”We are home, Mom,” they said at the exact same time.

”I am so glad that you both have come back safely.” Angela pulled back to look at her daughter. ”Especially you, Juli. Have you been properly taking care of yourself? I told you already, right? Do not mingle too much with strange men. It is highly inappropriate. I have been keeping in close touch with your manager, but he keeps telling me that you, Miwa, and Alissa keep sneaking off everywhere from the main headquarters. You kid... haa... I know you are exactly at that rebellious age, but please be cautious. The cosmic world is a massive place, and the starry sky is incredibly dangerous.”

”I know, Mom...” Juli’s rigid expression softened slightly as she replied. In that brief moment, she did not look much like an emotionless, clueless doll anymore.

”Well, on that happy note. You guys... please meet your younger brother, Grey.” Angela spoke with a soft, hopeful smile on her face as she gently gestured toward Grey. He was currently just standing there, casually staring at the hidden System inside Jeremiah’s soul.

”He came all the way from the faraway region called the Milky Way Galaxy.” However, Angela was not even finished with her warm introduction before Jeremiah rudely cut in.

”Not right now, Mom. I have already seen him,” Jeremiah said completely indifferently. He eyed Grey, who simply smiled back politely.

Jeremiah’s dark eyes turned freezing cold when he saw Grey’s unbothered reaction.

”I am going to my room now,” Jeremiah said to Angela. As he spoke, he secretly eyed a holographic prompt floating in the air directly in front of him.

[Quest: A Thorn in Your Path]

[Objective: Eliminate the Lost Heir that has suddenly appeared. On your destined path to supreme success, a nobody like him should never stand in your way.]

[Task: Eliminate Grey Arclight (0/1)]

[Reward: +1 Evolution Rank, Random treasure]

”I am also going to my room,” Juli abruptly announced, turning on her heel.

”You... both of you! At least formally greet your new brother.” Angela was completely stunned seeing their cold reactions. Especially Juli’s. She should know exactly who Grey truly was from their past life. Yet, even she was actively ignoring him?

”Your mother is right. Properly greet your brother. He came from an incredibly long distance. Everyone here is blood family,” Anderson sternly made his intentions clear.

[Grey, I sense intense hostility coming directly from your older brother,] the Fragment warned silently within Grey’s mind.

Grey just maintained his polite, fake smile upon hearing this.

Just then, Elder Rigard’s authoritative voice boomed across the courtyard. ”Leave them be. They must be incredibly tired, after all. Unlike certain others, they are the top active elites of the Crown Expanse and have to deal with a massive amount of stress. You, as their proud parents, should know this better than anyone.”

”Alright, everyone disperse. We will formally gather for a main family meeting after the heirs have taken a proper rest,” Elder Rigard instructed.

------

Just like that, the welcoming party dispersed. Angela and Anderson had deeply distressed looks on their faces, but they quickly forced on happy smiles to comfort Grey. He, however, just showed a calm, polite smile throughout the entire ordeal.

He honestly did not care about this political farce. Although it did sting slightly to be blatantly ignored, especially by his own sister who was constantly trying to keep her attention far away from him. But such is life. There are always ups and downs, and trivial mortal matters were never his primary concern. His top priority was always his evolutionary path.

And he was firmly planning to officially upload his Nexus path right before the grand tournament of the Alliance started in a few days. The tournament was also precisely why the two geniuses, Juli and Jeremiah, had returned to the main castle.

Just then, the exact moment he walked through the heavy doors into his private quarters, he saw a beautiful girl with a porcelain, doll-like face sitting quietly on the edge of his bed.

The instant Grey appeared, she shot up straight from the bed with a trembling, emotional look on her flawless face.

”Brother... is it really you?” Juli’s voice quivered subtly as she finally spoke.

”What do you think?” Grey rolled his eyes playfully as a warm smile unexpectedly formed on his face. ”Except that in this specific life, you are actually older than me. Sister.”

Juli stood completely frozen in her spot as her dark eyes locked onto Grey.

Then, she spoke. ”I hate this world, Grey.”
