Nexus Ascension: My Comprehension Defies the Heaven

Chapter 454: Heavenly Mandate

Whrmm!

As soon as he swallowed the peerless-grade Chaos Evolutionary Existence Refinement Pill, Domain Force gathered rapidly around Grey. The Breakthrough Bubble he was meditating in began to violently shift. A multi-colored cloud slowly formed directly above him as the surrounding space began to rapidly change colors.

The Elemental Tribulation was finally here.

The Tribulation Realm had six distinct stages: Foundation, Energy, Willpower, Bloodline, Elemental, and Karmic.

He was now about to undergo the fifth tribulation, The Elemental tribulation.

The potent effects of the pill had already increased his foundation back to a full hundred percent, and he still had another portion of the Golden Apple safely stored away. Meaning, he could technically trigger the Karmic Tribulation right here, right now.

But he would have to forge another pill to guarantee success. For now, it was time to strictly tackle the elements.

This tribulation was deeply tied to the foundational elements of creation.

Whatever core element existed in the Heaven would come forward and ruthlessly test him. If he passed, he would be able to easily survive any elemental attack no matter what rank the enemy possessed. That was under the strict condition that it was a pure elemental attack utilizing natural laws, and the attacker had not undergone the Elemental Tribulation themselves. Grey knew for a fact that there were probably fewer than ten people who had ever achieved such a feat in the vast starry sky.

He did not deny the stark possibility of that number being zero. Undergoing the Elemental Tribulation could be considered a highly fortuitous encounter for normal Evolvers. But for his unique Nexus path, it was a mandatory realm that one must tackle to shatter the chains of karma. He needed to become fully resistant to all elemental powers by enduring the tribulation and growing vastly stronger from the destruction.

Soon, the world flashed a blinding blue.

Immediately, he saw a massive water dragon forming out of thin air in the void.

Boom!

Heavenly power poured out from the sky above and directly entered the raging dragon.

Boom!

Domain Force surged violently around Grey, taking the terrifying form of an obsidian dragon with a literal starry sky lit across its dark scales. The two massive dragons collided, and the Domain Force dragon that Grey manifested ruthlessly swallowed the water dragon whole.

Insight surged as the blue clouds churned again. The Heavenly Law was not done with him!

Boom!

This time the condensed water took the sharp image of a divine spear. It shot down at blinding speed, but Grey calmly formed a huge shield using his Domain Force. The spear stopped dead in its tracks before it could even reach his skin.

[Your comprehension defies the Heavens! By observing the Heavenly Water Tribulation, you have comprehended the Heavenly Water Law to Minor Succession.]

Boom!

The world violently shifted color once again, rapidly turning a scorching red.

A massive phoenix manifested in the void just as quickly.

The flaming bird shot toward Grey with an enraged screech.

Grey just smiled seeing this and casually raised two index fingers, pointing directly at the incoming beast.

His Chaos Law erupted from him like a loyal summon listening to his strict command. It shot toward the phoenix, heavily laced with the hidden Sword Intent buried inside his soul.

Boom!

The space around the fiery phoenix violently distorted as sharp sword lines formed rapidly around its wings. With a loud poof, the beast was violently snuffed out. A deep red, chaotic light had erupted from the sword lines, carrying the terrifying Matter Annihilation ability of his Chaos Law.

It had been quite a while since he used his Severance technique. He last used it back on the Azure Origin Planet in the lower plane of existence. But it was still one of the many lethal skills in his arsenal that could and would kill an Origin Manifestation Realm expert with little to no effort.

Nothing could withstand his Sword Intent when it was combined with pure Matter Annihilation.

He naturally gained deep comprehension over the Heavenly Flames from the brief exchange. But that was not what he was truly looking for right now.

He wanted the Heavenly Earth Law!

And soon enough, the world turned a heavy yellow as a shining golden mountain appeared high in the void.

Seeing this, Grey swiftly summoned Origin Breaker. It was his unique soul weapon, forged to continuously grow right alongside him.1

The weapon blinked menacingly in his hands. If a normal Evolver saw this sword, they would definitely think it was a supreme godly weapon. But the real reason it glowed so dangerously was that highly condensed Nexus energy had already gathered along its edge, ready to unleash immense destructive power.

He stretched his right arm out and slashed down vertically.

Whrmmm!

The massive golden mountain that was about to crush down on him crumbled into tiny bits the exact instant the dark sword flash landed on its peak.

[Your comprehension defies the Heavens! By observing the Heavenly Earth Mountain, you have gained insight into the Heavenly Earth Law.]

Just as the notification rang out, three more massive mountains erupted from the void and came crashing down on Grey’s position.

Seeing this overwhelming pressure, Grey just smiled.

Nexus Overclock surged through his veins as his physical body blurred out of sight. A towering mountain that could easily crush a small planet was directly broken into rubble the second his bare fist collided with its surface.

It showed zero trace of resistance against his raw physical might that had no ounce of external amplification from ability or energy.

It was honestly impressive. Almost a year ago, he was still a total nobody on Earth reading web novels about people shooting energy out of their palms, and now look at him.

Grey pointed his open palm at one of the falling mountains.

Whrmm!

A massive ball of dark Nexus energy formed in the air and shot toward the remaining two peaks.

The dense ball of energy violently collapsed inward, generating a terrifying pulling force as it broke the mountains into dust.

In the following moment, it collapsed entirely into a miniature purple black hole right inside the Breakthrough Bubble.

It looked exactly like a localized event horizon that could suck existence itself away. And that was not false at all. He could in fact achieve such a terrifying feat using the Law of Gravity and immense energy.

Through this rapid exchange, he also successfully comprehended the Heavenly Earth Law to Minor Succession.

As the earth tribulation finally crumbled, thick bolts of Tribulation Lightning came crashing down from the sky.

Boom!

This time, Grey did not even bother deflecting. He simply opened his arms and let the lethal tribulation course directly through his veins, willfully allowing the destructive lightning strikes to temper and strengthen his mortal body to a whole new level.

Then, a warm golden radiance slowly formed around Grey’s body as he fell into a trance.

A highly mysterious, ancient power erupted from the heavens above, coalesced into one singular beam of raw force, and shot straight down into Grey’s body.

His Domain Force violently expanded.

His Three Nexus aspects strengthened rapidly, forcing his physical body to transcend to a higher state of being.

This heavenly force strengthening his Nexus Aspects was fully equipping him to reach the 5th Rank without crumbling under the immense pressure of the vast starry sky and the Origin Will during the time of anchoring.

At the same time, Grey finally felt it.

A heavy, lock had silently appeared deep within his existence.

This lock was bound by unimaginable cosmic power. Amidst it all, his dormant Half-Saintly Halo began to stir uncontrollably, acting as if it were about to break out into something huge.

Grey was dumbfounded. ”I can physically see the genetic limiter for the 5th Rank?”

The heavy chain was none other than the genetic limiter of the 5th Rank.

And he could already perceive it!

It was the final lock that existed between his current mortal shell and true transcendence as a higher-level being.

But his focus soon shifted away from the lock as he fell deeper into his enlightenment trance.
