Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2051: Chapter 2044: Useless!

She saw her daughter-in-law standing there and immediately questioned, ”Didn’t you go to the school to handle this? How did it turn out?”

”How else could it turn out? Nothing came of it!” Liao Ting said with a sullen face.

”What kind of result is ’nothing’?” Zhuang Wenhui was dissatisfied with her daughter-in-law’s attitude.

”It means nothing happened!” Wang Xiaohu complained to his mother, ”No apologies! No compensation, and we didn’t even hit them!”

”What?” Zhuang Wenhui raised her eyebrows high, ”Then what did you do at the kindergarten? You’re useless!”

”Exactly, Mom is just useless!” Wang Xiaohu clung to Zhuang Wenhui’s leg and said, ”He saw Ning Chenyang and Ning Chenguang’s mom being very fierce, and she got scared!”

”Mom, can you stop calling me useless in front of the kids? Look, the kids have learned this phrase from you! Always saying this one is useless, that one is useless...”

Even though they lived under the same roof, the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law had been at odds for years.

Zhuang Wenhui saw that Liao Ting was about to explode and said with a long face, ”You are useless! If you were any good, you’d get justice for me! Go!”

”I’ve already come back! Why go again? If you want to go, you go. I’m not going!” Liao Ting threw up her hands and went back inside the house.

”Grandma, look at my mom!”

”Really useless! A fool! Come on, Grandma will take you to vent your anger!” Zhuang Wenhui, no longer interested in cooking, dragged Wang Xiaohu along with her to the Ning Family to vent their anger.

........................

In the living room, Zhang Yun, wearing reading glasses, held a comic book in her hands, telling stories to her two little grandsons.

An Hao was busy in the kitchen.

The weather was cold, so she was simmering mutton soup in a clay pot in the kitchen, a bit of it in the evening would ward off the chill.

The door sounded loudly with a bang.

An Hao came out of the kitchen and opened the door.

She saw Zhuang Wenhui standing outside with Wang Xiaohu, and her heart sank—a troublemaker had arrived.

”Aunt Zhuang...” Even though she knew they didn’t come with good intentions, An Hao still politely greeted her.

Zhuang Wenhui shot An Hao a glance, pushed her body forward, and pointed to Wang Xiaohu’s face: ”Your kids did this! Tell me, what are you going to do about it?”

”It’s common for kids to fight! The injuries on Xiaohu’s face weren’t caused by the other two kids, Wang Xiaohu accidentally tripped! This isn’t their fault!” An Hao said with a smile, calmly.

She knew that Zhuang Wenhui would defend her own children, and An Hao wasn’t foolish either.

”Say that again!” Zhuang Wenhui’s eyebrows arched, her eyes widened, and she barked.

”I said it wasn’t the kids who did it...”

Before An Hao could finish speaking, she saw Zhuang Wenhui raise her hand and slap An Hao’s face hard.

Slap!

The sound was crisp and loud, a clear indication of the force behind it.

An Hao, unprepared, was slapped across the face. She raised a hand to cover the burning cheek, feeling a surge of anger in her heart.

”What? Not satisfied? If you’re not, hit me back!” Zhuang Wenhui pointed to her own cheek.

She was an elder and also the wife of Commissar Wang.

When it came to hitting, only she could hit An Hao; An Hao simply couldn’t fight back!

”No, I’m not dissatisfied. You’re an elder, I’m a junior! I respect you, but Chenyang and Chenguang did not hit Wang Xiaohu! Even if they did, it would be Wang Xiaohu’s own fault!” An Hao said coldly, then slammed the door shut with a bang.
