Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2082: Chapter 2077: Enemies Cross Paths

Everything was packed, Qin Jian drove the car over himself, then loaded the items onto the car one by one.

The car was packed full, An Hao got in the car with the two kids, said goodbye to Ning Yibin and Zhang Yun, and drove off.

While passing by a few of the small two-story buildings in the front row, Qin Jian saw Wang Zhong’s family also packing things and moving. So, he stopped the car and asked, ”Political Commissar Wang, you’re moving so quickly?”

”Hey, Captain Qin! Starting today, we’ll be working together in the same team! I got the house, so I’m bringing the wife and kids to live over there! Makes work commute easier!” Wang Zhong said.

”Alright! We’ll be on our way then. See you!” Qin Jian waved his hand, started the car, and drove forward.

An Hao casually asked, ”How come you’re working in the same team with Wang Zhong? Isn’t he from the Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment?”

”It’s changed. The higher-ups transferred him to be the political commissar in the Infantry Regiment, so he’ll be working with me.” Qin Jian explained, ”I didn’t know him well before. After all, we were stationed in different places. I happened to chat with him last time, and I think he’s quite nice.”

”He’s coming to your regiment?” An Hao was surprised.

Qin Jian saw An Hao’s surprised look through the rearview mirror and couldn’t help but laugh: ”Why? Is there a problem? We’re all doing political work anyway, it’s the same wherever we go.”

”Does this mean Liao Ting and that Wang Xiaohu will also move into the compound where we’re at?” An Hao asked.

”In principle, yes.”

”Oh my! It’s really... a narrow escape” Some bothersome situations, once you encounter them, they truly elude avoidance.

On the other side, Zhuang Wenhui held Wang Xiaohu’s hand, looking at her chubby little grandson about to leave, truly reluctant: ”Can’t you guys go by yourselves? Why must you take the child along? She’s attending kindergarten here just fine, isn’t she?”

Wang Zhong was stuffing things into the car while saying, ”This kid is already so out of hand, if he continues staying with you, he’ll become even more unruly.”

His mom is notoriously known around here for spoiling the child, everyone knows it.

”Didn’t I raise you the same way? Didn’t see you turning out to be so unruly.” Zhuang Wenhui retorted to her son right away.

”It’s different. Mom, this issue is not up for discussion! I must take the child with me! Previously, when I was stationed away, I could only come back once every six months. Now that I’m back in Nancheng, I have more time, I need to properly manage Wang Xiaohu from now on.”

”Exactly. Mom, you should head back. From now on, spend more time taking good care of Dad, don’t worry about us here. With me around, I’ll definitely take good care of the two of them.” Liao Ting quickly spoke up, picked up Wang Xiaohu, stuffed him into the car, got in herself, and shut the door.

After living with her mother-in-law for so many years, she felt finally freed.

From now on, she wouldn’t have to deal with her mother-in-law’s moods anymore.

Commissar Wang watched them drive off, nodding repeatedly: ”Leaving is good! Leaving is good! One’s own children should be taken care of by oneself!”

The two cars entered the military compound in the west of the city, one following the other, and parked in front of the same building.

An Hao came out of the car with the two kids, just in time to meet Liao Ting arriving with Wang Xiaohu.
