Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2090: Chapter 2085: What Is the Real Purpose?

”Yes.” Qin Jian agreed with An Hao’s statement, ”You’re absolutely right. Actually, I’ve been thinking about a question. It’s the one Yan Ye raised earlier. Why didn’t the other party take the entire file folder when stealing the data? An Hao, what do you think the real reason is?”

”Afraid that taking the file folder would expose themselves! Then they wouldn’t be able to continue to covertly get the data, right? They just don’t want to expose themselves,” An Hao analyzed.

”If you analyze it that way, don’t you find it a bit contradictory to our earlier probes?” Qin Jian looked at An Hao and said, ”Think about it carefully.”

An Hao frowned, gradually sorting out her thoughts.

She felt her head was a bit used up, but she still patiently went through it little by little.

Suppose Yuan Yunong is a spy, if she didn’t take the data at the time because she was afraid of exposure, then she certainly wouldn’t go for such a clearly purposeful test this time.

In that sense, their probing is meaningless.

However, her covert actions are aimed at stealing data. Seeing the data and not stealing it, isn’t that missing a great opportunity?

Especially since this time they are to prevent the data from being stolen all at once, so they plan to send it out in batches.

Even if it’s stolen once, it won’t be taken in its entirety.

Seeing the data and not stealing due to fear of exposure? Then what’s the point of their covert operation?

This is something they overlooked earlier.

Today, Yan Ye’s question was spot on.

It was precisely on target, highlighting a potential problem right off the bat.

This was something Qin Jian hadn’t considered before.

”Qin Jian, I feel there’s a paradox here. But I really don’t know what’s wrong,” An Hao said, rubbing her head in thought.

”An Hao, do you know? This spy is very professional. The data leak, actually, this top-secret document was sent to the technical department of the police for assessment. Besides my fingerprints and those of Leader Wang and Deputy Leader Li from the Special Military Arsenal, there wasn’t a fourth person’s fingerprint. This means the other side must have worn gloves at the time! The documents should have been photographed with a camera or something like that,” Qin Jian said.

”It’s terrifying!” An Hao felt a chill, ”How smart must this person be? What’s their IQ?”

”You’re right.”

Qin Jian consolidated the clues he discovered over this period and concluded two points: First, he hadn’t told anyone he was going to the Special Military Arsenal to deliver data. How did someone know he was going to deliver data? And how could they arrange a man-made accident to send him to the hospital, forcing the data to appear in a public place?

Second, if everything he and An Hao analyzed was correct, then why did the spy do this?

Qin Jian was deep in thought, and it took several calls from An Hao to bring him back to reality.

”What are you thinking? Did you figure something out?” An Hao asked.

”No.” Qin Jian shook his head.

”It’s so bizarre. Tell me, what’s the real purpose of the spy doing this?” An Hao said offhandedly.

A light suddenly flashed in Qin Jian’s eyes, ”I get it! The spy must have other objectives! The aim isn’t just to steal the data! There are other motives at play!”
