Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Capítulo 2068: Chapter 2062: Gossiping

Entering the compound, he walked along the pathway straight home.

As he passed by the family residential building ahead, he heard from afar a few women talking under a tree.

There were a few women An Hao didn’t recognize, but she knew Liao Ting.

“Manager Liao, it’s almost the New Year, and I want to buy a couple of new clothes! Does your company have any new designs? Ones that are good-looking and affordable?”

Liao Ting said, “Can good-looking clothes be cheap? Definitely not!”

“Manager Liao, we know you can make it happen! You’re so capable, can’t you get a couple of cheap clothes from the company?”

Liao Ting was delighted by the flattery: “Sure, no problem. I’ve been in a good mood lately, everything looks fine, everything sounds pleasant. Since you trust me, I’ll get a couple of cheap ones for you!”

“Sure, sure, no problem!”

“Liao Ting, is there any good news in your family recently? Is Political Commissar Wang getting a promotion?”

“No. It’s a job transfer! Anyway, he won’t be away anymore, he might be coming back to Nancheng City. I’m not sure exactly which regiment he’s being transferred to as a political commissar. But there’s news of it for sure!” Liao Ting was happy just thinking about it.

Since they got married, the couple hasn’t spent much time together.

Now that Wang Zhong is finally coming back, how could she not be happy?

“This really is good news. I heard something else too? I heard that this time, the army is going to establish a few exemplary models! Liao Ting’s husband, Wang Zhong, was chosen.”

“Congratulations! Congratulations!” Several army wives chattered, congratulating Liao Ting.

“Thank you all!” Liao Ting was overjoyed.

“Thank what! It’s because your Wang Zhong is exceptional! Look at the old chief of staff, Old Li, he’s getting on in years and hasn’t achieved much in many years! I worry for his wife!”

“Hahaha! Keep your voices down, if Old Li hears it, he’ll get mad at you again.”

An Hao listened to their conversation, and a slight smile involuntarily appeared on the corner of her mouth.

These situations are everywhere! Everywhere, there are people who like to gossip under the walls.

Not liking to speak ill of others, nor liking to hear gossip behind people’s backs, she sped up and was about to go back.

She suddenly heard Qin Jian’s name pop out of these people’s mouths.

So, An Hao stopped in her tracks.

“Doesn’t Commander Ning’s son get awards every year? He’s a legendary figure in our Northern Military Region! How come he isn’t included this year?” The person speaking, An Hao had only met a couple of times and wasn’t familiar with.

She seemed to be the wife of a deputy director from the political department, looking honest but still liked to take small advantages.

So she liked to hang around with Liao Ting.

Clearly knowing that Liao Ting’s reputation wasn’t good, but still able to get a couple of cheap clothes.

“You don’t know?” Liao Ting sneered, “Didn’t he leak some important secret? Wasn’t he taken away by the National Security Bureau for more than a week?”

“Didn’t they say it was nothing, and he was released?”

“Who can say for sure? Who knows if it’s really nothing or just pretending to be nothing. I just heard that the leaked items weren’t that important, and it’s unclear if it was he who leaked it. Anyway, there’s suspicion! Now he seems to be moving back and forth with the title of regimental commander every day, but isn’t it all relying on Commander Ning’s support!” Liao Ting pouted, with a disdainful expression.

“Can’t be! If there were really problems, you wouldn’t let him go! It should be that they couldn’t find any issues, that’s why they released him!”
