Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2074: Chapter 2068: A Heart of Stone

As soon as he opened the door, a biting cold wind rushed in.

The two children chattered their teeth from the cold, their bodies curling up into balls.

”Dad, I feel... I’m so young, maybe I don’t have to be a soldier now!”

”Dad, I suddenly think that beating Wang Xiaopang isn’t that important!”

Well now! The two little ones were bargaining with him!

”No way! A little man has to do what he promises!” Qin Jian grabbed each child and walked into the cold wind.

”Dad! I’m not going! It’s freezing!”

”I won’t be a soldier! I won’t be a man! Just let me be a kid!”

The two children shouted and wailed chaotically.

At this moment, the door of Zhang Yun’s room banged open.

Zhang Yun came out and saw Qin Jian pulling the children out, her nose almost bent in anger.

She quickly grabbed a blanket from inside and hurried out.

”Where are you going!” Ning Yibin had long been awake, reading with his reading glasses propped on his nose, and upon seeing Zhang Yun with the blanket, quickly stopped her.

”I’m just going to cover the children with a blanket! Bring them back inside! It’s so cold—it’ll take the kids’ lives!” Zhang Yun hurried outside.

”Come back to me!” Ning Yibin ordered in a low voice. ”What’s the matter? Let the kids be with Qin Jian, relax! He has his reasons for doing this! Look at how soldiers are trained in the barracks, aren’t they brought up this way?”

”They’re children, not his soldiers!” Thinking about the kids going out in such cold weather, wearing thin clothes, Zhang Yun felt a stabbing pain in her heart.

The last few days were okay, after all, it hadn’t hit the coldest days yet, but now it’s different!

Ice and snow, below freezing temperatures, you aren’t worried the kids might come down with something?

”Don’t worry! You women are too soft-hearted! Aren’t these two children his own sons? Could he possibly abuse his own biological kids?”

”I don’t care! I have to get them inside!”

Zhang Yun suspected her husband’s heart was made of stone, how could he calmly watch the kids suffering outside?

”Absolutely not!” These two children have already persisted with their exercise for a while, if they continue, they’ll become particularly strong by next spring.

The results are already starting to show.

If you stop them now, they won’t keep at it.

Wouldn’t the hard-won results be wasted?

”Even if you won’t allow it, I have to go!”

Zhang Yun was determined to challenge Ning Yibin.

”Stop the fuss! Go make breakfast instead! Look at our neighborhood, the Wang Family, the Li Family, also the Sun Family... and yes, the Lin Family, their kids are barely over two years old and already out there exercising! Look at them, they don’t seem to feel cold at all...” Ning Yibin lectured Zhang Yun with a stern face.

He went on for about ten minutes, and by then the kids had already run off.

Zhang Yun felt a sharp pain in her heart and liver, the more she looked at Ning Yibin the less pleased she felt, she violently threw the blanket onto herself, glared at him, and turned to leave.

In the biting cold wind, the two little ones followed behind Qin Jian, running with tears in their eyes.

Just as mom said, the wind really felt like little knives, cutting painfully into their faces!

It hurt so much they only wanted to cry!
