Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2079: Chapter 2074: Hunger Strike Protest

”Dad, you’re doomed! This time, even Mom doesn’t want to talk to you.”

”Nonsense! Just keep yourselves warm!” Qin Jian raised an eyebrow and glanced at the two kids, thought for a moment and added, ”When your mom comes later, don’t forget to say a few good words for Dad.”

The two little ones looked at each other, neither responded to Qin Jian.

They pulled the little blankets over themselves, covering up tightly.

”Can’t hear, can’t hear!”

Qin Jian was helpless.

When he was young, he didn’t seem to be this naughty. Who did these kids get this personality from?

Downstairs in the kitchen, Zhang Yun’s eyes were red as she was cooking with a spatula.

An Hao was boiling water with ginger slices and brown sugar.

”Mom, don’t cry! The kids will be fine! I’m making them some ginger sugar water—once they drink it and warm up, they’ll sweat it out and be okay.”

An Hao comforted her.

”It’s nothing. I just feel upset! It’ll be fine in a bit, but under no circumstances can I allow Qin Jian to take the kids running again.” Zhang Yun said with absolute certainty.

”Can you really stop him?” An Hao thought Qin Jian was right, but it was a bit much for the kids.

As a mother, seeing this made her uncomfortable.

”I’m going on a hunger strike to protest!”

”Mom, isn’t that a bit much?” An Hao burst out laughing, suddenly sensing a big drama unfolding.

”I mean it!”

”Mom, don’t do this! If you go on a hunger strike, I’ll feel terrible.” Qin Jian came in, hearing the mother and daughter-in-law discussing, and quickly tried to persuade his mom.

”Better you feel terrible than me.” Zhang Yun glanced at her son with extreme dissatisfaction, then carried the dish out.

Qin Jian frowned helplessly.

Seeing An Hao still boiling ginger water, he went over to take the spoon from An Hao’s hand: ”Let me do it!”

An Hao ignored him and moved aside.

”Really not going to talk to me anymore?”

”Don’t want to talk to you!”

”Am I really going to be all alone now? If you don’t talk to me, I feel awful.” It was the first time Qin Jian saw his wife this angry.

In his memory, An Hao’s temper, though not especially good, had always been warm to him like a spring breeze.

Looks like today, he really had offended his wife.

An Hao watched the ginger water boil over a few times, then fished out the ginger slices.

To avoid overboiling, which would make the water too spicy!

Seeing that no matter what he said An Hao ignored him, Qin Jian simply hugged An Hao from behind.

”Hey, what are you doing! Don’t hug here in the kitchen, what if someone sees, it would be so embarrassing!”

Qin Jian smiled triumphantly: ”Promise me you won’t be mad anymore, and I’ll let you go!”

An Hao laughed in exasperation: ”Qin Jian, I never realized before that you’ve got a knack for being a rascal!”

”It’s actually a skill I developed after meeting you.” Qin Jian shifted the blame onto An Hao.

”So it’s my fault now?”

”Pretty much!”

Seeing An Hao’s expression about to turn gloomy again, Qin Jian hurriedly apologized to her, ”I shouldn’t have tied you up!! You’re right to care about the kids, Dad and I just hope they become excellent soldiers! We hope they can have good education from a young age, and develop self-discipline and a strong will... I promise you, after this period, the kids will get used to it, and it won’t feel so hard for them! We are all for the future of the kids, I hope you can stand on the same side with me!”
