Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 2078: Chapter 2073: Wife Is Angry

An Hao heard her mother-in-law calling, and hurriedly came downstairs with her things.

Seeing the two children standing there like little pitiable souls, she couldn’t help but get really angry.

She gave Qin Jian a fierce glare, pointed at him and spat out two words: ”Just wait!”

An Hao took the children to treat their wounds and change clothes, and Zhang Yun, finally having caught her son’s mistake, stopped cooking and started scolding Qin Jian.

”Aren’t they your children? They’re so little, and you’re tormenting them like this! Now great, the kids are going to catch colds! Yangyang even hurt his hand! How can you run with them like that?” Zhang Yun got angrier as she spoke.

”Mom! This isn’t a big deal! We can’t raise them like greenhouse flowers! They need to experience...”

Before Qin Jian could finish, Zhang Yun interrupted, ”This isn’t a big deal? They’re so young... and you let them freeze like this! You might as well let me freeze...seriously? Wait until they’re in primary or junior high school, you can run and train with them all you want, and I won’t say a word.”

”You’ll find something to say then too...” Qin Jian said with a laugh, ”I know you care about the kids, but this really isn’t a big deal... Once they’ve been through it, they’ll be fine.”

”Oh, you’re making me so mad! You’re stabbing me right in my heart.” Zhang Yun was so angry with her son that she was about to cry, she went up and gave Qin Jian a beating, ”You better not take the kids out tomorrow! Or else I won’t eat! Starve myself!”

Qin Jian was caught between laughter and tears; for the first time in more than thirty years, his mom had hit him.

Ning Yibin came out of the room, saw Zhang Yun crying, and said nothing, didn’t try to console her.

He knew that trying to comfort his wife now would be in vain, and would just lead to another round of scolding.

He simply pulled Qin Jian aside and said, ”Don’t mind your mom. She’s perfectly fine. Women have soft hearts, they can’t stand to see the kids suffer even a little. When we were kids, we didn’t have enough to eat, clothes with holes in them during winter, and nothing happened... Don’t worry about it, just do what you need to do!”

”Got it.”

”Go upstairs to check on the kids.”

Qin Jian went upstairs back to the bedroom and saw that An Hao had already bandaged Chenyang’s little hand.

”Remember, wear gloves at kindergarten, don’t let the wound freeze, or it will be a hassle!”

She said softly to the child.

”Okay!” Ning Chenyang nodded.

”Mommy will make some ginger tea to warm you up. Just stay cozy here for a while!” An Hao wrapped the kids with a thick blanket, then turned around and saw Qin Jian standing behind her.

”How is it? Are the kids alright?” Qin Jian asked with a smile, trying to curry favor with her.

An Hao glanced at him, ”Are you asking me? Don’t you know for yourself whether the kids are alright?”

”Are you angry? I’m doing this for the kids’ good, you know? It’s just a phase. I promise, after this winter, our kids will be as healthy as little tigers!”

Qin Jian pursued An Hao, saying.

”Move aside!! I don’t want to see you right now, seeing you just irritates me!” An Hao pushed Qin Jian out of the way and went stomping down the stairs.

”Oh dear! Dad... you’ve stirred up a hornet’s nest again.”
