Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 668: Chapter 668: Have You Become a Coward?

”Since Cheng Yue dares to challenge Qin Jian, it means he has some confidence in himself! He’s arrogant, but he’s not foolish! Fully aware that Qin Jian comes from a military background, yet he insists on competing with him. Doesn’t he know he’s going to lose? He must feel his abilities are not inferior to Qiang Jian’s!” An Hao analyzed.

”It feels like he’s not even on par with Staff Officer Qin! If he can win, I’d be seriously surprised,” said Gu Shuangshuang with disbelief.

The competition began.

The first round, five hundred push-ups, with the winner being the one who completed them first.

The moment Li Zhi’s whistle sounded, Cheng Yue rapidly started doing them, completing one each second, which was quite unexpected for Gu Shuangshuang.

Even Yan Ye was surprised. These guys usually acted like they couldn’t withstand a breeze. Who could have thought they were just pretending?

With this pace and the accuracy of their postures, they really could rival soldiers in the military.

No wonder he was so haughty now, daring to challenge Qin Jian to a battle.

Without comparison, there’d be no harm.

There is a saying: there’s always a higher mountain, and among people, there are always others who are stronger. Among the strong, there are always those who are stronger.

Qin Jian’s movements were even swifter. Cheng Yue was already formidable, but the speed of Qin Jian’s push-ups was truly astonishing.

The speed at the beginning is naturally fast, but as time goes on, it tends to slow down due to decreasing physical strength.

However, Qin Jian’s stamina was breathtaking; only in the final moments did his speed decrease slightly. For the rest of the time, he maintained his initial high speed.

In less than eight minutes, he finished all five hundred push-ups.

The fastest record Li Zhi noted with the stopwatch was that Qin Jian did a hundred push-ups in a minute. That was simply terrifying!

Cheng Yue never thought he would lose, and the speed difference with his opponent was huge.

For a moment, he was somewhat stunned.

In the first round, Qin Jian greatly dampened his spirit.

In the second round, the abdominal bar exercise naturally put him behind Qin Jian once again.

The outcome was already decided; he lost, and lost thoroughly.

”There’s no need for the final challenge. I admit defeat,” Cheng Yue said dejectedly. Always having considered himself superior, losing so miserably in front of everyone made him feel utterly disgraced.

”No! I said it had to be three out of three wins! Bring it on!” Qin Jian had been waiting for this moment.

What was agreed was a duel! The previous challenges were just contests! Only this last round could be called a duel!

Cheng Yue hesitated. His physical strength had significantly decreased since the beginning, but looking at the other party, calm and composed, he felt the upcoming match would be tough.

Gu Shuangshuang was eager to see Qin Jian teach him a lesson. Seeing him back down, she yelled loudly from the crowd, ”Cheng Yue, have you chickened out? You’ve lost two rounds already and now you don’t even have the courage to face the third! I’ll despise you if you give up like this! A true warrior faces death head-on with the courage to fight!”

”It’s over!” Li Zhi truly admired Gu Shuangshuang from the bottom of his heart — that sentence had effectively cut off Cheng Yue’s retreat.

”How about it? Do you dare to fight? Are you really willing to be that fleeing bear in front of your little apprentice sister?” Gu Shuangshuang added fuel to the fire.

”I dare! How could I not dare!” Cheng Yue stood up bravely to face the challenge.

So what if he loses? He can afford to lose!

Losing is still better than running away!

”Good! Then bring it on!” Qin Jian was waiting for just that response.

The third round began.

Since Cheng Yue had already put himself at a disadvantage, he had to strike first.

At the sound of the whistle, he was the first to leap up, aiming a kick at Qin Jian’s face.
