Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 634: Chapter 634 Is this your real sister?

”Really?” Cheng Yue cocked his head and glanced at Zhang Chaoqian, ”I think you’re the one who wants that maple leaf.”

”Hehe!” Zhang Chaoqian, his thought process seen through, couldn’t help but chuckle, ”You tell me, Sister Yu, she treasurers those maple leaves like precious gems. Would it kill her to give me a couple?”

”If you’ve got the guts, go ask her for them!”

”I... I daren’t!”

”Look at you, no ambition at all.” Cheng Yue couldn’t be bothered with him, bent his head down, and briskly wrote a letter. He then sealed the envelope with glue, affixed a stamp, and handed it to Zhang Chaoqian, ”Go mail this!”

”Making me mail letters again! I won’t do it!” It was raining and chilly—who would want to go out in that?

”Fine! Next month’s beef ration is off for you,” Cheng Yue said as he picked up the letter and headed outside.

”No, no, no! I’ll go, okay?” Zhang Chaoqian took the envelope and headed downstairs, thinking as he walked if Li Zhi, that guy, hadn’t taken leave to go home, he probably would’ve eagerly done the job.

That guy was truly Cheng Yue’s loyal lackey.

Not long after, Cheng Yue received a reply from his sister.

After reading her reply, he heaved a long sigh.

”What did Sister Yu say?” Zhang Chaoqian leaned over, wanting to peek, because only Sister Yu could deal with this unruly rascal, Cheng Yue.

Cheng Yue didn’t mind him looking, after all, they were buddies who had grown up together bare-butted, sharing all their secrets.

After Zhang Chaoqian read it, he laughed until he doubled over.

Cheng Yue had written at length, easily filling three large sheets, but his sister replied with a message so short it only contained three sentences.

One, Change your damn rascal personality!

Two, Don’t shamelessly pursue girls, maintain a distance to give them a comfortable space!

Three, Each girl is like a flower; if you really like one, then treat her with sincere care!

”Cheng Yue, is this your real sister?” Zhang Chaoqian began to jab at Cheng Yue’s heart, ”I feel like these few sentences from your sister all convey one meaning, you know!”

”What meaning?” Cheng Yue raised an eyebrow, glaring at Zhang Chaoqian.

”Cheng Yue, if you can’t change your shameless ways, you’re doomed to be a bachelor forever!”

The moment Zhang Chaoqian finished speaking, Cheng Yue leaped up to hit him, ”Which eye of yours sees that my sister meant that? Which eye?”

Cheng Yue had always been fearless since he was a child, his parents’ words often went in one ear and out the other, but when it came to his sister’s words, he took them very seriously.

His sister told him to give the girl he liked a comfortable space, and Cheng Yue had been quite well-behaved these past few days.

He needed to ponder seriously how he could get An Hao to accept him better.

Don’t even wars require a battle plan?

Chasing a girl shouldn’t be too blind either; he also needed a good plan.

With Cheng Yue calming down, An Hao’s days became more peaceful.

The week passed slowly, with Gu Shuangshuang gone, An Hao was all by herself.

Friday came around again, time for the anatomy class, which was supposed to be two morning sessions. But Yan Ye suddenly announced that from today onward, the classes would be held in the evening.

That freed up An Hao’s morning schedule, giving her time to pick up Gu Shuangshuang from the train station.

Just as she stepped out of the university gates, she ran into Yan Ye, who was about to ride out on his bicycle.

”Teacher Yan!” An Hao greeted him proactively.

”Heading out?” Yan Ye got off his bike.

”Yeah. Going to pick up Gu Shuangshuang at the train station.”

”Great, I’m headed in the same direction!” Yan Ye looked at his watch and said, ”You’re not in a hurry, right? I’d like to take five minutes of your time to talk about something.”
