Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 606: Chapter 606: Forced Marriage at the Door

Qin Fen was dissatisfied with these things and turned his head to look at Song Yueqin, saying, ”Hey, I thought you at least came to visit my sister. Isn’t she a woman who has just given birth? Who are you bringing all this stuff for?”

Song Yueqin glanced at her cousin Song Fei and cousin-in-law Qin Feng, tugged Qin Fen’s sleeve, and whispered, ”Are you silly? Obviously, these things are brought here for you. Your sister is unconscious now. Can she eat anything?”

”I don’t like eating these things,” Qin Fen said angrily, ”I think your mom is afraid of spending money, so she picked out all this random junk from home, like she’s trying to feed a beggar.”

That was exactly right on Qin Fen’s part.

Zhang Juyun certainly hadn’t planned on spending any money since Song Fei’s parents wouldn’t pay for the hospital and medical fees, leaving the Qin Family without money for a wedding.

So, her daughter Song Yueqin had to wait here anxiously.

Why should she spend money on a daughter-in-law of the Song Family?

Besides, when you marry off a daughter, it’s supposed to be the groom’s side that spends more money. Now the situation had turned around; they hadn’t seen a penny yet, and they had to pay out of their own pocket when visiting Qin Feng? No way!

But it wouldn’t look good to come empty-handed, so she just took the wild sour jujubes and persimmons that Song Jincai had picked from the mountains, brought them here to make the bag look full, and it appeared quite presentable when leaving the house.

”Enough now,” Song Yueqin said, biting Qin’s ear, ”My mother has been in a bad mood recently. If you can bear it, then just put up with it. Once it’s just the two of us, I’ll take you out for some good food.”

It was only after Song Yueqin said this that Qin Fen nodded, ”Alright. You better not lie to me.”

All their murmuring, Qin Ru Hai saw everything.

He had also seen those things and knew they were not brought with sincere intentions to visit Qin Feng.

Looking at his son’s face which was just now filled with dissatisfaction and now had cleared up like the sky after rain, it’s likely that Song Yueqin had fed him some kind of enchantment again.

With just a few words, she had made him completely compliant.

Qin Ru Hai truly sighed, ”Like father, like son; like mother, like daughter,” the saying really wasn’t wrong at all.

Just look at the son that Chief Ning had. He’s just different.

If Qin Jian were his own flesh and blood, he’d probably wake up from his dreams laughing.

In the hospital corridor, Zhang Juyun was bringing up the matter of marriage between Song Yueqin and Qin Fen to Li Junping.

”Relative, look at the kids; they’re not young anymore. It’s time for them to settle down. The initial plan was to get married by the end of the year. Is this still the plan? If so, it’s already October on the solar calendar; we should start preparing for Yueqin.”

Qin Feng was still unconscious, and here Zhang Juyun was, pressing for a marriage, which was truly infuriating, ”Yueqin’s mother, since this marriage is agreed upon, they will certainly get married. But as you can see the current situation, we just don’t have the money. We can’t only care about Qin Fen and ignore Qin Feng’s life and death.”

Zhang Juyun was precisely afraid of this kind of argument, and what she feared came true, ”So what do you suggest? Yueqin’s virginity has been taken by your Qin Fen. The whole village knows. You’re not planning to use this incident to back out, are you?”

That remark was truly infuriating!

What had the Qin Family become? Stirring up trouble at such a critical moment!

Li Junping was truly angered in her heart. Anyway, she wasn’t satisfied with this daughter-in-law. If this marriage were to fall through, it would be a relief for her.

”We won’t back out,” Li Junping said with a sneer, ”As you can see the situation with my family, I can’t possibly abandon Qin Feng. If Yueqin insists, I’ll have Qin Fen marry her by the end of the year. But one thing is certain, we won’t be able to provide the dowry money.”
