Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 613: Chapter 613: Be Kind and Honest

The incident that year was committed by her mother and her sister Li Yueping; she had tacitly consented.

Old Qin simply didn’t utter a word, that’s all.

But why should such severe consequences be borne by Old Qin?

Li Junping couldn’t help but cry nonstop at the thought.

”Jianzi? Which hospital is your dad in now? Take me to see him,” Li Junping said, worried that Qin Ru Hai might not pull through, and she wanted to see him as soon as possible.

”He’s in the intensive care unit. You won’t be able to get in. However, the nurses are closely monitoring his condition 24 hours a day, and if there’s any issue with dad, the hospital will call home. I’ll let you know then,” Qin Jian said.

Since things had come to this, Li Junping had no choice but to wait... just wait...

The next day, early in the morning, the family received a call from the hospital saying that Qin Ru Hai had awakened.

Zhang Yun’s heart, which she had been carrying, finally fell back into her stomach.

The Ning Family rushed to the hospital in a hurry, and Qin Jian got off on the way to bring Li Junping and Qin Fen from the maternity hospital.

Although he had opened his eyes, the condition was still serious.

There was a critical three-day period, and once he got through that, things would improve.

Two families looked at Qin Ru Hai through the window, and seeing him lift his hand from afar, Li Junping felt as if a stone had fallen to the ground with a thud.

The next difficulty was right in front of them—money.

The Qin Family was spending more than they were bringing in.

Now that Old Qin was hospitalized, they had no idea where the money would come from.

Even though Qin Ru Hai had saved Zhang Yun, she couldn’t just ask someone to pay for Old Qin.

After all, his deceased son had congenital heart disease, a condition that burns through money. If not for being in your care, Secretary Ning, he would probably have died a long time ago, right?

Li Junping had at least that much self-awareness.

Plus, the continuous disasters that the Qin family faced made Li Junping deeply understand a principle: one should act with integrity.

As someone directly involved, Zhang Yun was also deeply moved.

She looked at Li Junping, who was crying with her head down, and said, ”Come with me for a moment, I have something I want to talk to you about.”

The two of them found a relatively quiet place to stand, and for a long time, neither could find the words to start.

In the end, it was Zhang Yun who spoke first, ”This incident happened unexpectedly, and I’m sure Qin Jian has already told you. Qin Ru Hai got injured so severely while trying to save me, almost losing his life. I’m extremely grateful to him, if it weren’t for him, I might have...”

”No need to say more,” Liu Junping interrupted Zhang Yun with a wave of her hand, ”You don’t need to thank me. Thirty years ago, we were the ones who wronged first. We wronged you and your husband, we wronged Qin Jian. Now, what Old Qin is doing is paying off a debt... I’m not asking for your forgiveness, only that you don’t cut off Qin Jian from seeing us, the Qin family. My husband and I truly love this child...”

Zhang Yun knew that things would come to this conclusion.

Some things are destined by fate.

Perhaps, their entanglement with the Qin Family began the moment she fell at the roadside.

The past has now become the past.

Qin Ru Hai was willing to risk his life to save her, and even though there was much hatred in her heart, it should be gone now.

”There won’t be,” Zhang Yun said with a deep sigh, ”From now on, Qin Jian is as much my son as he is yours. I won’t stop anything. Let the past be the past.”
