Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 621: Chapter 621: Utter Bad Luck

Qin Jian had walked far away, yet Song Yueqin was still immersed in the visual shock she had just experienced.

”Let’s go! What are you dawdling for?” Zhang Juyun had reached the doorstep of the Qin family’s home, and seeing her daughter standing around as if she had lost her soul, she went back and gave her a tug.

Song Yueqin suddenly came back to her senses and followed Zhang Juyun with her head lowered, stepping into the courtyard of the Qin family.

In her mind, that scene kept replaying over and over.

Normally, a girl encountering such a situation would blush furiously and quickly look away, then secretly feel her heart race for a long time.

But Song Yueqin was different.

She liked Qin Jian, and this obsession had lingered in her mind for a long time. Every time she could only see but not have, it was a form of torture for her soul.

The more she was tormented, the more she liked it.

And now, Song Yueqin had secretly tasted the forbidden fruit with Qin Fen.

That painful yet joyous feeling was unforgettable for her.

The moment she saw Qin Jian, she wanted to possess him in her thoughts.

When the mother and daughter entered the room, Li Junping was helping Qin Ru Hai turn over in his bed. Upon seeing the two of them, Li Junping’s face immediately darkened.

Whenever this mother and daughter showed up, it was never for anything good.

”In-law, how is he doing?” Zhang Juyun put on a smiling face as she placed the eggs to one side, not bothering with pleasantries with Li Junping, and took a seat on a stool in the house.

Qin Ru Hai felt annoyed upon seeing the mother and daughter and said to Li Junping after turning over, ”You two go talk in another room. My leg is giving me trouble, and I’m feeling irritable. Hearing people talk is aggravating.”

Li Junping nodded and led the mother and daughter to the room that Qin Feng had occupied before she was married.

”Yueqin’s mother, just speak frankly,” said Li Junping, her dissatisfaction with the Song family apparent on her face. She was straightforward and unguarded in her speech.

Zhang Juyun, seeing Junping’s hostile attitude, felt a surge of anger, ”In-law, I am not pleased with your attitude! After all, we came with good intentions to see how Qin Fen’s father is doing, and you’re giving us the cold shoulder. What do you mean by that?”

”It means nothing. Qin just narrowly escaped death, and now his leg is broken. We’re all in a bad mood. If the hospitality is lacking, you’ll just have to put up with it,” said Li Junping coldly.

”Enough, Mother! Let’s get to the point,” Song Yueqin, seeing the conversation veering off-topic, quickly steered it back.

How could she enter the Qin family’s door if the future in-laws already had such a poor opinion of her family, and it got even worse now?

”All right then.” Zhang Juyun, noting the unfavorable expressions on the Qin family’s faces, and not wanting to stay any longer than necessary, wanted to finish quickly and leave. ”What I mean is about the marriage of these two young ones. After the New Year, Yueqin will turn twenty, the age to marry. Her father and I have discussed it and we hope the two kids can get married by the end of the year.”

At this, Li Junping became furious, ”Yueqin’s mother, look at what has become of our Qin family now? The old are sick, the young are sick, can’t you give our family a break?”

”Hey, what kind of way is that to talk?” Zhang Juyun slammed the table, ”I am bringing up the young couple’s marriage precisely because your family has run into such bad luck this year. I thought it might bring some joy to the Qin family to dispel the bad luck.”

”Whose family has run into such bad luck! Who are you saying has hit rock bottom!” Li Junping fumed.
