Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 669: Chapter 669: Seeking Death Like an Idiot

Qin Jian dodged swiftly, grabbing the man’s foot with both hands and hurling Cheng Yue violently away.

In recent years, although Qin Jian’s rank had risen, he never neglected the skills he learned in the reconnaissance company; he continued to train every day.

Therefore, dealing with an unfit Cheng Yue was a piece of cake.

Cheng Yue was flung away miserably, while Qin Jian aside from a swift sidestep, hadn’t even moved from his spot.

Laughter at Cheng Yue’s expense rippled through the crowd, mocking his presumption.

Cheng Yue’s pride was severely wounded. He sprang up from the ground with a carp’s flip and rushed, swinging his fist at Qin Jian’s face.

Qin Jian didn’t even blink. His hand shot up like lightning, grabbing the oncoming fist. With a twist of the wrist, there was a snap, followed by Cheng Yue’s scream.

Just as he was trying to withdraw his hand, Qin Jian twisted it behind him, eliciting another scream.

After that, Qin Jian wasn’t as ruthless. He began to spar, striking Cheng Yue appropriately from time to time.

Gu Shuangshuang watched from the side, clapping and cheering.

It was incredibly satisfying!

”An Hao! Your man is truly a formidable hero! With such great stamina, can you handle it?”

An Hao glanced sidelong at Gu Shuangshuang, ”What, curious? You’ll understand once you marry Tian Niu. Qin Jian said that among the soldiers he’s trained, Tian Niu has the best physical strength and endurance.”

Gu Shuangshuang’s face instantly flushed, ”Can you keep your voice down? It’s embarrassing if others hear.”

”My dear sister, you know what embarrassment is? You were just short of using a loudspeaker earlier.”

”My fault! It’s my fault!”

The fight had been going on for a while, and Yan Ye could tell Qin Jian’s intent.

Cheng Yue’s pestering of An Hao must have angered Qin Jian.

And now Cheng Yue, oblivious to his own peril, had challenged him, with predictable results.

This was an opportunity served on a silver platter for Qin Jian to teach him a lesson.

A lesson too good to pass up!

Yan Ye emerged from the crowd, stepping in to moderate the situation: ”The outcome is clear, Cheng Yue, you’ve lost!”

Cheng Yue wiped the blood from his nose and said, ”I’m utterly convinced!”

”Then can we agree that this match is over?” Yan Ye turned his head to look at Qin Jian.

”A promise! I want him to promise and apologize!” Qin Jian looked coldly at Cheng Yue, revealing his true purpose for accepting the challenge.

Cheng Yue, admitting defeat, staggered toward Qin Jian and apologized sincerely, ”I’m sorry! I won’t bother Little Junior Sister anymore! I won’t speak out of turn to her or do anything untoward!”

”I believe you,” Qin Jian dropped the words, turned, and walked toward the crowd.

The match was over, and the crowd gradually dispersed.

Li Zhi and Zhang Chaoqian both approached, feeling both pity and amusement at Cheng Yue’s sorry state.

”All settled down now?” Yan Ye asked Cheng Yue with raised eyebrows.

”Yeah,” Cheng Yue replied like a defeated rooster.

”Let’s go! I’ll treat your wounds!”

”Thank you, Teacher Yan,” Cheng Yue said as he limped away, supported by the two men. As they walked, he mulled over the match, ”That Qin Jian is too formidable. A staff officer’s combat ability on par with someone from the reconnaissance company.”

”He is from a reconnaissance company background. Back in the Northern Military Region, he was the most formidable reconnaissance company commander! He once won the decathlon at the military region competition,” Yan Ye said indifferently.

”Teacher Yan, why didn’t you tell me all this earlier?!” If he had known, he wouldn’t have acted like a fool, courting death.

”Didn’t I tell you he’s a legend?”

”I had my family look into him. They said he’s an outstanding staff officer, with unique insights into command and battle drills! I thought...” Cheng Yue trailed off. He needed to go home and settle the score with his family!

He wanted them to see what his son had been reduced to.
