Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 631: Chapter 631: She is My Future Daughter-in-Law

”You’re asking me, who am I supposed to ask?” Zhang Chaoqian scratched at his buzz cut, glancing at Cheng Yue, ”Could it be that she took a long detour just to avoid you?”

Cheng Yue pondered for a moment. Given An Hao’s personality, it wasn’t entirely out of the question.

”Alright, stop thinking about it. Ever since you’ve met An Hao, you’ve been losing your soul.” Seeing Cheng Yue like this, Zhang Chaoqian hardly recognized him.

”Nonsense! She’s my future wife!” Cheng Yue had set his sights on An Hao from the very first glance.

They say a persistent man is feared by the good woman.

He liked An Hao, and even if he annoyed her, he would still pursue her until she was his.

”You’re planning to marry her?” Zhang Chaoqian shook his head, doubtful.

”You bespectacled guy, can’t you give me some encouragement like Li Zhi does?”

Zhang Chaoqian: ”...” Do you even need encouragement? Any more and your tail might just wag up to the sky, right?

Seeing Zhang Chaoqian purse his lips, Cheng Yue couldn’t be bothered to argue with him: ”Let’s go! Back to the dorm.”

Since he couldn’t see An Hao today, he’d just go to the classroom and wait for her tomorrow.

”Hold on!” Zhang Chaoqian said, rubbing his hungry stomach, ”I haven’t eaten enough tonight, let’s go have noodles at the gate?”

”Fine. You’re paying.” Cheng Yue agreed without hesitation.

”Hey. This is the third time I’m treating this month,” Zhang Chaoqian yelled in dissatisfaction, these two guys always took advantage of him.

”Look at how stingy you are. I didn’t bring money with me. Next month, when my sister sends me more beef sauce, I’ll just share some more with you.”

”Great. It’s a deal!” Zhang Chaoqian hurriedly pedaled after him on his bike.

At the north gate, a small noodle shop.

Cheng Yue and Zhang Chaoqian, with their backpacks around their necks, swaggered into the shop.

The noodle shop was nearly empty, save for a girl sitting with her head down, eating plain noodles.

Catching sight of the girl, Cheng Yue’s eyes lit up.

If that wasn’t An Hao, then who was it?

”Oh! What’s that saying again? Life is full of encounters! Little junior sister, meeting you twice in one day, our fate must run deep, right?” Cheng Yue said as he pulled up a stool and sat down across from An Hao.

Zhang Chaoqian also gathered around.

Seeing business coming in, the noodle shop owner went up to greet the two.

”The usual, two bowls of beef noodles!” Cheng Yue ordered.

The owner took down the order, and the noodle chef in the kitchen started to prepare the noodles.

An Hao kept her head down from beginning to end, quietly eating her noodles.

”Little junior sister, your senior brother is here! You’ve got to give some reaction, right?”

An Hao remained silent, seemingly focused entirely on her bowl of noodles.

Cheng Yue leaned in closer to see An Hao’s expression: ”What? Still angry? Look, I’ve borrowed the book for you.”

With that, he took the book out of his pocket and placed it in front of An Hao.

”No need, take it back,” she said.

Hearing the strangeness in An Hao’s voice, Cheng Yue reached out to lift her chin, hoping to make her look up.

”Take your hand back!” An Hao’s cold voice came through, causing Cheng Yue to pause in shock.

Then An Hao lifted her head, and he saw her red-rimmed eyes and the faint traces of tears on her face.

”You’ve been crying?” Cheng Yue was taken aback, ”Didn’t I really upset you that much just now?”

He hated it when women cried!

But seeing the tears in An Hao’s eyes, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of distress.

”Of course, that’s it!” Zhang Chaoqian heard Cheng Yue evaluate himself for once and didn’t hesitate to throw in a jab from the side.

Cheng Yue glared fiercely at Zhang Chaoqian and dropped his casual demeanor: ”Tell me what’s wrong. Is it because I made you cry, or did someone else bully you?”
