Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 232: Chapter 229 This little injury is nothing

By the time Liu Xiaolian brought An Hao over, the fight had already finished.

There were police from the local station taking Shi Yan and others away, about to record their statements.

One officer walked up to Qin Jian and Liu Tong, saluted surprisingly, ”Thank you for your help! It prevented the situation from escalating into something much more severe.”

”No need to be polite. We just happened to pass by and saw the commotion, so we lent a hand! We’ll leave the rest to you, Officer,” Qin Jian said.

Shi Yan and the others were taken away to give their accounts, and Erzhuzi followed them to participate in the investigation.

Seeing this, An Hao rushed over and hugged An Ping, bursting into tears, ”Ancestor, you scared me to death! Why get into a fight? If anything had happened to you, I couldn’t go on living!”

With a big grin, An Ping chuckled and patted An Hao’s shoulder, ”Relax, I’m fine, aren’t I? It’s the ’brother-in-law’ who got hurt a bit!”

”What?” Hearing him say the word ’brother-in-law,’ An Hao’s face instantly blushed, and she smacked him, ”Nonsense in front of all these people.”

”Heh heh!” An Ping laughed embarrassedly, rubbing the back of his head.

Only then did An Hao notice Qin Jian and Liu Tong standing nearby.

She ignored Liu Tong completely, her gaze falling on Qin Family’s arm, which had been sliced by a knife, having torn his clothes, and blood was dripping down his fingers steadily.

”Oh no, that’s a serious wound, we need to get to the clinic fast,” An Hao said. Upon seeing Qin Jian not moving at all, she became anxious and, without thinking, grabbed his hand and dragged him toward the clinic.

Seeing this, Liu Tong chuckled awkwardly before saying goodbye to Qin Jian, ”Qin, you really can’t block good fortune when it comes your way! I won’t disturb your good turn today, we’ll catch up some other time!”

At the clinic, the doctor examined Qin Jian’s wound and said, ”This wound is quite deep; it needs stitches. Otherwise, it simply won’t heal anytime soon.”

”Okay. I’ll follow your advice,” Qin Jian said indifferently.

”Mhm.”

The doctor was very skilled and quickly stitched up Qin Jian’s wound, and also handed him a bottle of antiseptic to clean the wound.

After leaving the clinic, An Hao deeply exhaled, ”We were really lucky to have you around this time; otherwise, I can’t even think about what might have happened to An Ping.”

”It just so happened this time,” Qin Jian stopped and looked at An Hao, ”That guy called Shi Yan came for you. Thank goodness you were in school... otherwise... just thinking about it gives me the chills.”

Seeing the worry on his face, An Hao felt a warm sensation in her heart and gently touched Qin Jian’s injured arm, expressing her concern, ”It must hurt a lot. With the stitches, I don’t know how long it will take to heal.”

The corners of Qin Jian’s mouth lifted slightly as he looked down at the shorter An Hao, feeling a strong urge to hug her.

Holding back the impulse, he said, ”It doesn’t hurt! A little scratch like this is nothing! Don’t worry about me!”

Despite his words, An Hao still felt ill at ease.

Seeing the genuine emotions in her eyes, a flower bloomed quietly in Qin Jian’s heart. He hesitated for a moment but then raised his hand to gently touch her head, ”Don’t feel burdened. We just happened to see the trouble and stepped in to help. I wouldn’t have acted differently even if it hadn’t been An Ping. So don’t feel any obligation.”

An Hao knew he said this to ease her mind, but the more he said it, the more embarrassed she felt.

”In that case, if you really want to thank me, treat me to a bowl of beef noodles. I haven’t even had lunch yet...” Qin Jian suggested.

”Okay,” An Hao nodded.
