Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 202: Chapter 201: Scared So Much I Peed My Pants

Song Yueqin’s hand tightly clutched Zhang Juyun, her breathing became rapid and urgent, ”Mom... I’m scared...”

Zhang Juyun was older after all, and had experienced more things, her courage was relatively greater.

When she heard footsteps, she gritted her teeth, suddenly turned around, and saw that there was nothing at the end of the alley.

She let out a sigh of relief, ”There’s nothing there. You must be hallucinating.”

As soon as she finished speaking, with a blink, she suddenly saw a bleached shadow flash by, resembling a human figure.

Zhang Juyun was taken aback and nearly choked on her own breath.

”Mom, what’s wrong?” Song Yueqin, seeing her mother staring straight at the mouth of the alley, followed her gaze, but she saw only a flash of white.

She too was startled and rubbed her eyes.

Without rubbing, it might have been alright, but after rubbing and looking again, she saw the white shadow that had just appeared suddenly ooze bright red blood, and quickly the white shadow turned into a blood-red one.

”Ah—!” Song Yueqin let out a piercing scream, so frightened her soul nearly flew away.

Zhang Juyun saw it too, was so scared she was unable to speak, and immediately grabbed Song Yueqin’s hand and ran towards their home.

As they ran, Song Yueqin felt as though something was following her from behind, and that thing seemed to be tugging at her clothes.

She was terrified to the extreme, her voice breaking with sobs, ”Mom, I feel like something is following us. It seems to be grabbing my clothes...”

”Don’t look back, don’t talk, bite your teeth, hold your breath and run hard,” Zhang Juyun consoled Song Yueqin.

The mother and daughter ran hard for home, only hearing the pitter-patter of footsteps, and when they finally reached a street corner, they saw the white shadow drift past again.

Finally arriving at the doorstep, Zhang Juyun could catch her breath at last. She had just steadied herself when she felt a pat on her shoulder, and as she turned, she caught sight of a black shadow flashing by.

”Ah! Ah! A ghost!” She couldn’t hold back her scream, her legs clamped together, her expression somewhat strange.

In the pitch-black night, Song Yueqin couldn’t see her mother’s expression and could only grab her and run inside the house.

Once in the yard, she quickly called for Song Jincai to turn on the lights.

That was when Song Yueqin noticed a trail of wet marks on the ground, extending all the way to the side of her mother’s pants, which were still dripping with water.

Zhang Juyun had wet her pants!

”Juyun, what happened to you? Saw a ghost or what?” Song Jincai, seeing her acting strangely, asked.

If he hadn’t asked, it would have been fine, but as soon as he did, Zhang Juyun’s eyes rolled back, and she fainted.

On the road out of the village, Tian Niu found a spot to burn the several strips of white cloth so thoroughly that not a trace was left.

Lin Chen was extremely excited, a little too talkative, ”Tian Assistant, that idea was satisfying, right?”

”Satisfying! Truly damn satisfying!” Tian Niu thought back to the way the Song Family mother and daughter had looked and almost burst out laughing.

”You say, if a person’s nature is not good, even the heavens won’t help,” said the little colleague who went with them.

”Exactly. It seems heaven still thinks what we did was right. We’re acting like heroes fighting for justice. Otherwise, after watching for so many days without a good opportunity, it just happened that today we ran into a good one,” Lin Chen said.

There had been a death, and it was the seventh day after it; these were exceptional foreshadowing elements, plus the dark and windy night... the atmosphere rendered was absolutely perfect.

Moreover, the location chosen was excellent—it just so happened to trap the mother and daughter in an empty alley!

Truly, heaven aids me!

The group of five talked and laughed as they headed back to their lodgings, just in time to bump into Qin Jian who was about to go for a night run.
