Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 238: Sky Jade Realm History I

When Zhang Fei [1] saw the two beasts about to kill the bandit leader, he immediately moved to stop them and asked them to leave, especially since most of the bandits were already dead and he still needed information about the mastermind behind the mission.

After they departed, Zhang Fei [1] immediately crouched in front of the bandit leader, strangling his neck, and the other disciples immediately landed behind him.

Lin Dongʼer wanted to stop Zhang Fei [1] from killing the bandit leader, but Mu Lingshu immediately held her back and shook her head. ”Leave it to him.”

Zhang Fei [1] then used his demon eyes to instill fear into the bandit leaderʼs soul, causing him to shiver in fear. ”Who is the one who submitted the mission to our sect? What is your purpose in luring our disciples here?”

”The person who submitted the mission is the young master of the Du Clan, Du Ruhui, and he is also a core disciple of your sect.” Zhang Fei [1] raised his eyebrows as the bandit leader gave him the name, and the disciples also looked shocked after hearing it. ”Iʼm not sure about his reasons because he didnʼt tell me the truth, and he asked us to capture any disciples who took the mission.”

[Master, the Du Clan is one of the vassals of the Pang Clan, so I think the purpose of him ordering these bandits has something to do with them.]

ʼYeah, youʼre right.ʼ

[What are you going to do to him, Master?]

ʼHmm?ʼ Zhang Fei [1] thought for a while before using his demon slave mark and memory manipulation on the bandit leader. ”Whatʼs your name?”

”Tu Li.”

”Pft! Hahahaha!” Lin Dongʼer suddenly laughed when she heard the bandit leaderʼs name, and the other disciples also smiled strangely at his name. ”Haha! This guy is so weird! Tu and Li can also mean baldness, but he chooses to use both as his name because he is bald himself, which I find amusing.”

”Anyways, what did you do to him? Why do I feel that his expression suddenly turned weird?” Mu Lingshu asked as she squatted down beside Zhang Fei [1].

”Hehe.” Zhang Fei [1] chuckled and told Mu Lingshu. ”The Du Clan is one of the major clans in this southern region, and they are powerful, so it would be better if we didnʼt tangle with them directly. Since Du Ruhui used this guy and his group to trap our disciples, I decided to use him as a means of retaliation, so I purposefully enslaved him.”

”Huh?” Almost all of them were shocked by Zhang Fei [1]ʼs confession, except for his partners.

”What? Why are you guys so shocked? You know, the slavery technique is not an evil technique, and everyone can learn it.” Zhang Fei [1] inquired with a laid-back smile, glancing briefly at Yin Tong before proceeding. ”As for me, I will never use my technique carelessly, but I will not hesitate to use it on anyone who has evil intentions towards me and those closest to me.”

”How many people have you enslaved?” Lin Dongʼer inquired with a frown.

”This man is my fourth slave.” Lin Dongʼer and the others frowned even more after hearing Zhang Fei [1]ʼs answer, but he then told them. ”The first person joined the Pang Clan; she and her clan planned to poison my wives to capture them, so I was forced to do it to protect them. The second person also has connections with that clan; she and her people repeatedly tried to kill me.

The third person is Pang Hong, and he is one of the elders of that heretic clan. Do you guys still think I am too cruel to use slavery techniques on them?”

Lin Dongʼer then asked Zhang Fei [1] again. ”How could you have a problem with that heretic clan? After all, your cultivation is still too low for them to care about you, so I find it strange that those people want to kill you.”

”Hahaha.” Zhang Fei [1] laughed as he stood up. ”Perhaps it was fate that brought trouble between us, and it all started when I saved Liu Hua from Pang Hongʼs hands. Since then, there have been so many troubles that have come to me, and that is also one of the reasons I joined our sect, especially since I need the strength to fight them and protect those closest to me.”

”I know that Liu Hua fell into Pang Hongʼs hands a few years ago, but I didnʼt expect that you managed to save her, and she is already your wife now.” Lin Dongʼerʼs words made Xia Bing, Lian Chengyu, and Nanxuan Luoyue shocked after knowing that Zhang Fei [1] was the son-in-law of the Liu Clan.

After all, the Liu Clan was the second-strongest clan in the southern region after the Shen Clan, and there was a lot of news about them among the public, so they also knew about what happened to Liu Hua in the past.

On the other hand, Yin Tongʼs expression became even uglier after knowing Zhang Fei [1]ʼs status, and the jealousy in his heart became even more intense. Unlike her partner, Ni Weiwei became even more ambitious to approach him, believing she could use his status as the Liu Clanʼs son-in-law to her advantage.

Yun Kexin, on the other hand, thought differently than her partner and sect sister. A faint smile appeared on her face, but no one, except Zhang Fei, knew what was on her mind.

”So what are your plans for Du Ruhui, brother?” Xia Bing asked him.

”Honestly, I havenʼt thought of any plans for Du Ruhui yet, and I will wait for him to come here again.” Zhang Fei [1] then gave some healing pills to Tu Li and ordered him to distribute them to the surviving bandits. ”If that man comes here again, then you must contact me immediately, and you must hold him back until I get here.”

”Yes, Master.” Tu Li then helped his men swallow those healing pills.

”Anyway, you guys better not discuss this matter when you all return to the sect later and keep it to yourselves,” Zhang Fei [1] warned the disciples. ”Otherwise, Du Ruhui will flee from our sect if he finds out about everything, and it will be troublesome for us if the Du Clan is on guard against us, as they might contact the people from the Pang Clan to attack us.”

They nodded in understanding at Zhang Fei [1], except for Yin Tong, and Lin Dongʼer spoke to him. ”Even so, I will still inform my father about Du Ruhui, enabling him and the other elders to closely monitor him.”

”I think thatʼs fine, but tell them not to do anything to Du Ruhui for the time being.” Zhang Fei [1] stole a quick glance at Yin Tong before using telepathy to tell Lin Dongʼer. ʼI want you to ask your father to keep an eye on this Yin guy, especially since heʼs not a good man and might betray us.ʼ

Lin Dongʼer raised her eyebrows as she briefly glanced at Yin Tong, and she immediately nodded in agreement with Zhang Fei [1] afterwards. ʼAll right, I will instruct my father to monitor him closely to prevent any potential harm to us.ʼ ”Now that we have completed our business here, we should head back to our sect.”

”Would you like to join us in searching for an adult owl bear, Senior Lingshu?” Zhang Fei [1] asked him.

”I donʼt have any other plans in the sect, so Iʼll join you guys.” After she answered Zhang Fei [1], Mu Lingshu then turned to Lin Dongʼer. ”You guys can return to our sect first, and please tell Elder Guo that I am going with them.”

For a few moments, Lin Dongʼer suspiciously looked at Mu Lingshu before turning to the other disciples, and they immediately took out their returning jade before breaking it.

After they disappeared, Zhang Fei [1] led the six women to leave the bandit village, and they immediately went to another area to look for an adult owl bear.

In a dense forest, a tiny woman with four butterfly wings on her back was flying nimbly through the line of trees in front of her. Before long, she had arrived in front of a crowd of trees neatly arranged like a formation, and she pressed her palm against one of them before using her qi.

*Swoosh... Swoosh...*

The tree formation quickly moved to the side, creating a fairly wide path in the middle. The tiny woman immediately flew in through the path before the trees closed again.

The next second, the tiny woman had appeared in a forest city, and there were many small living beings wandering around the forest city, all of whom were people of various natural races.

The forest town appears remarkably spacious, with numerous small houses nestled among the trees in the surrounding area. Despite their diminutive size, the houses boasted a sleek and sophisticated design that closely resembled homes on Earth.

Besides, there are also many tall buildings in the area, a little bit far from the entrance, making the scenery between the two areas quite contrasting with each other.

The tiny woman smiled as she observed the people, and she swiftly soared towards the lone house perched atop a towering tree in the heart of the city. Soon, she landed in front of the house, walked straight into it, and called out. ”Grandpa! Iʼm home!”

”Oh?” A little old man greeted her with a big smile before briefly hugging her, but then he put on a look of dejection before asking. ”Where have you been, Zefyr? I thought you had forgotten your grandfather.”

”Hehe! You are my grandfather; how could I forget about you, Grandpa Oliver?” Zefyr laughed in response, then proceeded to explain. ”Actually, I previously traveled to the southern region, and I found a low-rank wind elemental seed. However, I accidentally met a man named Zhang Fei [1] there, and he was looking for the seed.

At first, I didnʼt want to give it to him, but I changed my mind after I found out that he was a true heavenly fox.”

After hearing Zefyrʼs answer, Oliver was stunned for quite a while, but his expression kept changing between shock, joy, and excitement.

”Huh? Why are you reacting like this, Grandpa?” Zefyr inquired, waving her little hand in front of Oliverʼs face.

Soon, Oliver came back to his senses before taking a deep breath, and his expression turned extremely serious, confusing Zefyr. ”Is it true that you met a heavenly fox before?”

”Well, thatʼs true.” Zefyr responded by nodding repeatedly. ”However, Grandpa, Zhang Fei [1] is a strange one.”

”Hmm? Whatʼs so strange about that man?” Oliver asked with an eyebrow raised.

Zefyr hugged her grandfatherʼs arm before bringing him to sit with her. ”Zhang Fei [1] is not only a true heavenly fox, but he is also a complete human.”

”Do you mean heʼs half human and half fox, Zefyr?”

”No.” Zefyr answered by shaking her head. ”Heʼs not half-breed, Grandpa. Heʼs a full-fledged Heavenly Fox, and heʼs also a full-fledged human. I donʼt know how heʼs like that, but Iʼve seen his both forms with my own eyes, so Iʼm sure that I donʼt misrecognize him.”

Suddenly, Oliver remembered something and immediately floated towards the shelves filled with hundreds or thousands of books, and he kept flying in front of all the books as he was looking for an important book.

As she watched her grandfather busy looking for a book, Zefyr sat casually on the chair while moving her legs up and down.

About half an hour later, Oliver finally found the book he was looking for and sat back down beside Zefyr again, but the book looked so old and dusty. He then waved his hand, instantly dispelling all the dust, and slowly turned each page, searching for something inside.

After a while, Oliverʼs eyes fell on a picture on one of the pages of the book, and it was a picture of a white fox with ten tails behind its hips. ”Found it.”

”Hmm?” Zefyr then looked at the image on the bookʼs page, and under the image were many writings with strange symbols. ”Isnʼt this the image of the heavenly fox, Grandpa? But why does this fox have ten tails?”

Oliver let out a soft sigh before asking Zefyr back. ”You must still remember your great-grandfatherʼs story about this realm, right?”

”Yes. ” Zefyr nodded at Oliver.
