Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 222: ʼZygozʼ - The Libra

Meanwhile, Zhang Feiʼs second clone, the succubus Feltia, who was holding the demon extermination sword, was fighting with several demon beasts at Baron Rank. Janette, who was fighting nearby, aided her, and together they had already eliminated numerous demon beasts.

[You have killed 60 demons, with 0 remaining.]

[Ding]

[Daily Quest: Killing 60 Demons.]

[Status: Done.]

[Reward: 6,000 female essences are added to the balance.]

As soon as the notification appeared in her mind, Feltia immediately stopped and wiped the blood left on the demon extermination sword, and it quickly entered her forehead before turning into a sword tattoo there.

However, a black light shining from the head of the last demon beast she killed distracted Feltiaʼs gaze, prompting her to check before taking a black crystal from it. ”Hmm?”

”Itʼs a demon core.” Janette said as she approached Feltia. ”Unlike the core of cultivation beasts, this thing is created from crystallized demon energy. It has four grades: normal, intermediate, advanced, and perfect. The one in your hand is a normal demon core, and you can exchange it for demon coins at demon cities, but you will only get around one hundred demon coins for one normal core.”

”Demon cores and demon coins, huh?” Feltia muttered to herself while nodding in understanding. ”Isnʼt a normal demon core already too rare? Then what about the other four grades? Iʼve killed more than 100 demon beasts to date, but Iʼve only got one demon beast core.”

”Haha.” Janette laughed at that. ”If you want to get more demon cores, then you have to kill demon beasts or demons that are quite old, especially since the process of crystallizing demon energy into demon cores takes quite a long time, and the demon beasts you killed previously were still young, except for the last one.

Regardless, you need to seek out demons significantly older than this one to obtain the other two grades of demon cores, particularly if youʼre aiming for advanced demon cores. As for the perfect demon cores, you can only get them from other demons, not demon beasts.”

”Only from other demons, huh?” Janette nodded to Feltia. ”Sigh, Iʼll think about that later, especially since my strength is still insufficient to fight a demon thatʼs too old.”

[You obtained 1 normal demon core.]

”Thatʼs true.” Janette nodded in agreement with that. ”Since you intend to visit the twin Amarisʼs sub realm, it would be beneficial if you collected regular demon cores and traded them for demon coins. This is particularly important because you will need them to reside there, and they may become suspicious if you use your cultivation or other unusual methods for demons.

”I know.” Feltia then looked up into the sky towards one of the stone platforms, and she could see changes starting to occur there. ”Their sub-realm seems to be opening soon.”

Janette immediately looked in that direction before nodding to Feltia. ”Youʼre right, their realm will open in about an hour, and you can go there directly after the portal up there opens. Unfortunately, I canʼt accompany you there; otherwise, they will find out about my return, and they will capture me immediately.”

”Itʼs okay; I have Boitata by my side, so you donʼt need to worry about me, and I will definitely be fine there. Anyway, it would be better if you and your mother joined my real body in my training space, and you two could train there together with the others.” Feltia suddenly remembered something before telling Janette again.

”Aside from that, Iʼve discovered a useful solution to help you evade their hunt, but I canʼt implement it right now, and I might only be able to assist you once my first clone exits his seclusion.”

Janette still felt amused remembering Zhang Fei and his two clones; even Feltia, who was standing in front of her, was like a different individual, but the three of them were clearly like a hive, especially since everything about them was one.

[Master, there is a demon much stronger than Lillea heading towards this place, and he seems to be one of the twelve rulers, but he doesnʼt seem to have any evil intentions.]

”Hmm?” Feltia raised her eyebrows before opening a portal to the Dryad Forest. ”Janette! Get in now! Iʼll catch up with you later!”

”Why-”

”Go in!”

Janette was confused by that, but she nodded in agreement and entered the portal directly, and Feltia promptly closed it again.

Shortly after that, an old male demon landed in front of Feltia, but his appearance didnʼt look like a demon at all. Instead, he was no different from a human old man, and the skin on his body was already wrinkled, but his body was too small, at around 4ʼ 7”.

ʼHoly fudge!ʼ Feltia screamed in her heart as soon as she read the status of Oz the Second. ʼGoddamnit! This guy turns out to be the demon emperor of this realm, and he apparently never disappeared!ʼ ”Who are you?”

Oz did not directly respond to Feltiaʼs question, instead observing her closely. ”Youʼre sure youʼre great for a little human, and youʼre not even deterred by my presence. My name is Zygoz, the Libra, and I am one of the rulers of this realm.”

”Hmm?” ʼWhy is he disguised as Zygoz? What was his real purpose in doing this? Then where is the real Zygoz?ʼ Feltia harbored doubts in her heart, but she decided to play along with him, particularly because Oz was too powerful for her at the moment. ”How did you know that I was a human?”

”Hahaha.” Oz laughed when he heard that. ”Hey, kid, I always monitor this realm, and I also never let the Dryads out of my sight, so I already noticed your presence in my realm when Janette brought you here.”

”I see.” Feltia nodded in understanding before asking Oz again. ”Why are you coming at me? Do you intend to capture me?”

”Ha ha ha ha!” Once again, Oz laughed loudly, causing Feltia to frown at his attitude. ”If I wanted to capture you, I would have done it from the moment you set foot in this realm. Furthermore, the presence of that woman by your side made it impossible for me to capture you, as I sensed her strength surpassing mine.

My reason for meeting you was because your presence had already alerted the other demon lords, following Leonʼs revelation about the power of light he had discovered in the ancient demon lord castle. However, they assume that the owner is a person from the Tian Realm, so you better be careful when using your power.

Otherwise, you will face eleven demon rulers at once, and that woman will definitely have a hard time protecting you from them and their troops.”

Feltia was naturally aware of this, but she felt strange about Ozʼs attitude. ”Arenʼt you one of them? Why did you come here to warn me?”

”Youʼre right, Iʼm part of them, but Iʼm different from them.” Oz then looked up into the sky. ”You might think that Iʼm strange, but Iʼm not interested in power and authority, and I only want a peaceful life for the other demons. Unfortunately, Iʼm alone, and I canʼt possibly stop eleven of them by myself.

Besides, people from the Xian and Tian Realms are also always eyeing this realm, and they wonʼt stop before all the demons are wiped out. Thatʼs why I need many allies to bring about change in this realm, and I believe you are the best choice, which is why Iʼve decided to come see you.”

”Indeed, you are quite strange, in my opinion.” Feltia said that as she nodded. ”As a human, I was always taught that demons are evil and vile creatures, and you guys always try to lead us astray.”

”However, you are not ordinary humans, right?” Oz asked while turning to Feltia. ”The demon aura here will undoubtedly affect ordinary humans, causing them to slowly lose their minds and transform into demons like us. Moreover, I have been watching you since you came to this realm, so I already know about your three identities.

If I hadnʼt done that before, I definitely would have never known that you were a human, especially since your demon aura is so perfect.”

Feltia smiled when she heard that. ”In that case, why did you come to me disguised as Zygos? Why didnʼt you use your real identity, the demon lord, Oz the Second?”

”Hmm?” Oz frowned after listening to Feltiaʼs questions, especially since no other demon had ever managed to see through his disguise. However, he realized that she was indeed unusual, especially with her three identities, all three of which were real. ”So youʼve known my identity since I arrived here, huh?”

”Yes.” Feltia nodded at Oz before pointing to the ancient floating black castle. ”What if we talk there? That way, no other demon will be able to find out about our meeting or eavesdrop on our conversation.”

”Sure.” Oz immediately grabbed Feltiaʼs shoulder and took her away.

Moments later, they were already in the throne room of the ancient floating black castle, and Oz immediately returned to his original form, but his original appearance was quite surprising to Feltia.

Oz stands tall at around 7 feet, his entire body clad in terrible armor, even his hands resembling sharp claws. Despite having lived for more than ten thousand years, he still looks so young. He had four horns, two long and two short; his golden hair was quite long, and he had sharp blood-red eyes.

However, what makes him unique are the four wings on his back, especially since he obviously doesnʼt have the light element, but two of his four wings are white. ”You donʼt even flinch in front of the real me, huh?”

”Haha.” Feltia laughed softly when she heard that. ”Your form is indeed scary, but as you said before, Iʼm not an ordinary human, so your original form means nothing to me. Anyway, where is the real Zygoz? Are you impersonating him to divert the attention of the people of the Xian and Tian Realms towards you?”

”Yes.” Oz nodded to Feltia. ”Your guess is correct; I deliberately disguised myself as Zygoz to divert their attention from me, so they wouldnʼt know about the plans I had for the future of this realm. As for the real Zygoz, I sealed his demon power and sent him to the human realm with his approval, so the other demon rules wonʼt see through my disguise.”

”I see.” Feltia nodded in understanding. ”What exactly are your future plans for this realm?”

Oz smiled and told her about the details of his plan, but Feltia frowned after hearing them. ”As I said before, Iʼm not interested in power and authority, so I donʼt have ambitions for that. However, you are different from me, and I can see enormous ambitions in your eyes, so you can have it in the future.”

Instead, Feltia released a heavy sigh and shook her head at Oz. ”You are right that I have enormous ambitions, but I have no interest in that. Just like you, I only want to protect the people closest to me, and I can only do that if I have such great power. Moreover, these four realms are too small for us, and our ambitions lie in higher realms.”

”Higher realms?” Oz looked very surprised to hear that. ”Are there still other realms out there?”

”Yes, there are countless realms out there.” Feltia answered Ozʼs question with a nod. ”For now, I only know of two other realms, but I will definitely explore others in the future. Anyway, one of the realms that I know of is a demon realm, but that realm is much stronger than this Diyu realm, and your strength is probably only on par with demons at the Duke or Duchess rank there.”

”Oh?”

Felia immediately shook her head at Oz because she knew his thoughts. ”Honestly, Iʼve never been there in person, so thatʼs just my estimate, and I canʼt say for sure.”

”I see.” Ozʼs expression was filled with excitement upon learning about the existence of a demon far stronger than him, and he was eager to challenge that realm. However, he still hadnʼt succeeded in making the demons in his realm live in peace, so he immediately ignored that.

”Anyway, Iʼve heard that you want to go to the twins Amarisʼs sub realm, and I must warn you to be careful there, especially against the black Amaris.”

”I know.” Feltia then asked Oz. ”Do you have anything I can use to contact you? As for your offer, Iʼll think about it first, and Iʼll let you know my decision later.”

Oz took out a medallion and gave it to Feltia. ”You just need to inject your demon power, and Iʼll come right to you. Anyway, their realm has begun to open, so you can go there immediately. We can continue our conversation at a later time, or else they will discover my disguise.”

”Thatʼs good.”

After Feltia disappeared from his sight, Oz let out a heavy sigh and looked out through one of the holes in the wall. ”Sigh, I am the demon lord, but I have to pin my hopes on a human, and I hope that he is truly willing to help me.”
