Zhang Fei - The Abandoned Son

Chapter 232: Wind Elemental Seed

[Ha ha! Master, your character is becoming more and more like a true incubus! You truly embrace your lust and never hold yourself back.]

ʼWhy should I hold myself back, Mei?ʼ Zhang Fe [1] asked while shaking his head slightly. ʼTime is ticking, and five years is a short time. Besides, I donʼt want my life to be limited to this realm, and I want to take them to explore other realms in the future.

As for the Heavenly Moon Realm, the inhabitants are heavenly foxes like me, and they have the same abilities as mine, so I donʼt have any advantages there. Thatʼs why I need to increase my strength as soon as possible, and Iʼm willing to do whatever it takes to do so. I also donʼt care about morality as long as I can achieve my goals.ʼ

After hearing that, the two women were dumbfounded, and they looked at Zhang Fei [1] in shock and disbelief. After all, Shen Yu had already chosen him as her husband, and they had also heard that he was interested in taking Shen Xueyi as his partner. However, he also proposed a dual-cultivation relationship with both of them, which they deemed absurd.

Shen Huang then took a deep breath before rejecting Zhang Fei [1]. ”We do want to break through to the sovereign realm soon, but we canʼt dual-cultivate with you.”

”Is there no other way, Zhang Fei?” Shen Xinya inquired with a frown.

Zhang Fei [1] shrugged nonchalantly in response to Shen Xinyaʼs question. ”There is no free lunch in this world; you both need my help to break through to the sovereign realm, and I need your Yi Qi to increase my cultivation so that I can fulfill my promise to someone. Indeed, you two are Yuʼerʼs ancestors, but you guys are strangers to me, and I will never help strangers.”

Shen Huang and Shen Xinya were speechless at his answer. Although they were eager to break through to the sovereign realm, they also did not want to give themselves to Zhang Fei [1]. After all, they were his seniors, especially if he married Shen Yu in the future.

[Master, I detected an extraordinary item from the heart of this forest, so I think you can leave them behind and go there right now.]

Zhang Fei [1] raised his eyebrows a moment after he heard that. ”All right, Iʼm just offering it to you; Iʼm not forcing you to accept my offer. However, if you change your mind later, youʼll already know where to look for me. Since I still have other business, Iʼll be leaving now.”

Without waiting for their answer, Zhang Fei [1] quickly teleported many times towards the heart of the forest, especially since the forest was really large.

The two Shen Ancestors released heavy sighs as they looked towards the forestʼs depths, but Shen Huang immediately flew away while speaking to her daughter. ”Letʼs go back, Xinya. Since he isnʼt willing to help us, we just need to try harder, and we will definitely break through to the sovereign realm sooner or later.”

”Yes, Mother.” Unlike her mother, Shen Xinya actually felt tempted by Zhang Fei [1]ʼs offer, but she wasnʼt that crazy to accept it right away.

A while later, Zhang Fei [1] was already standing not far from the heart of the forest. ”Hey, Mei! What kind of items did you detect from this place?”

[If Iʼm not mistaken, it should be a low-level wind elemental seed, and you might get the wind element if you use it.]

”Are you serious that the item is a wind elemental seed? Where is it located?”

[One hundred percent, Master. The wind elemental seed is located right in the heart of this forest, so itʼs not far from your current location.]

”I see.” Zhang Fei [1] immediately used his teleportation a few more times, but he was stunned as soon as he got there. A small wind vortex surrounded a floating green seed, and a girl with a tiny body circled around it, her back adorned with four butterfly-like wings.

[She must be a woman from the fairy race, Master.] Mei then displayed the girlʼs status.

ʼOh? A female fairy with such high cultivation, I have to be careful with her, or she might kill me.ʼ Zhang Fei [1] then raised his eyebrows after seeing that Zefyr disliked humans. ʼWhy does she hate humans?ʼ

[Master, fairies are born from nature, and humans tend to destroy nature, so you shouldnʼt be surprised if they hate humans.]

ʼYeah, youʼre right.ʼ Zhang Fei [1] replied with a nod of approval. ʼHumans are too greedy, and Iʼm not much different from them either.ʼ

[It would be better if you used your half-fox form to approach her, Master. Otherwise, you wonʼt be able to get close to her, and she might attack you head-on.]

ʼLetʼs try approaching her first, and Iʼll use my half-fox form if she really wants to attack me.ʼ Zhang Fei [1] immediately jumped down from the top of the tree.

”Who!?” Zefyr shouted as she turned to face Zhang Fei [1], and her expression turned furious. ”What are you doing in this place, human? Leave or I will attack you!”

ʼSigh! Sheʼs truly aggressive.ʼ Zhang Fei ignored her words and spoke to her. ”I donʼt want to fight you, but I came here to get that wind elemental seed, Zefyr.”

”How did you know my name?” Zefyr inquired with a frown, and two wind pinwheels appeared in her tiny palms. ”I hate greedy humans like you, and this wind elemental seed is a natural treasure, so I wonʼt hand it over to you! If you insist on getting it, then I will really attack you.”

”You are a wind fairy, so the wind elemental seed is useless to you, right?” Zhang Fei softly spoke as he stepped forward to approach Zefyr.

*Swoosh*

Quickly, the two wind pinwheels in Zefyrʼs hands flew towards Zhang Fei [1]. However, he dodged both of them by teleporting, causing her attack to split several trees in the area, and it stunned her. ʼHow could he dodge my fast attacks?ʼ

”I told you that I donʼt want to fight with you, Zefyr.” Zhang Fei [1] spoke from the top of the tree some distance behind her, and the wind elemental seed was already in his hand, especially since he used his teleportation twice in succession without her realizing it. First, he moved to the side of the seed and picked it up. Second, he used his teleportation to make his way to the tree.

”Give me that wind elemental seed, human!” Zefyr shouted loudly; her expression made it clear that she was enraged by Zhang Fei [1]ʼs actions, and her Wind Qi instantly erupted. A dome of wind quickly enveloped her body before she floated up and glared at him with hatred. ”If you donʼt return it to me, then donʼt blame me for killing you, human!”

Mei immediately warned Zhang Fei. [Youʼd better quickly use your fox form, Master. [Even though fairies are gentle creatures, if you make them angry, you will suffer a heavy loss.]

ʼAlright.ʼ Following Meiʼs instructions, Zhang Fei [1] transformed himself into a white fox with four tails, and his current fox form was significantly larger than that of an adult ordinary fox.

”Huh!?” Zefyr looked at Zhang Fei [1] as she blinked repeatedly, but she then let out a shrill scream while pointing her little finger at him. ”Heavenly fox! Why is there still a heavenly fox left in this Sky Jade Realm? I remember for sure that the ancestors said that they had left this realm a long time ago.”

”This is why I donʼt want to fight with you, especially since both of us were born from nature.” Zhang Fei [1] uttered these words as he leapt down from the tree and approached Zefyr. ʼDamn it! Iʼm not used to walking on four legs like this!ʼ

Zefyr immediately retracted her wind qi, and her wind pinwheels disappeared. She then floated right in front of Zhang Fei [1] before patting his head like a pet fox. ”I canʼt believe this! You really are a heavenly fox!”

Zhang Fei [1] smiled bitterly as Zefyr treated him like a pet fox. ”I am indeed a Heavenly Fox, but I am also fully human.”

”What do you mean by that?” Zefyr asked with a raised eyebrow. ”How could you possibly become fully human if you were a Heavenly Fox?”

”I canʼt explain it to you in detail, but Iʼm telling you the truth.” Zhang Fei [1] said it with a low sigh. ”Anyway, Iʼm not from this Sky Jade Realm, and I come from another realm.”

”Did you really come from another realm?” Even though Zefyr asked that, she didnʼt look surprised at all. She had heard from her ancestors that heavenly foxes had spatial abilities, so they could switch realms easily.

Zhang Fei [1] nodded at her as he transformed into his half-fox form. ”Yeah, I really come from another realm.”

”Your people should have gone to a higher realm, right? Then, why are you returning to this small realm? Isnʼt this a complete waste of your time?” Zefyr curiously asked as she circled around Zhang Fei [1] to observe him.

ʼSo the heavenly fox race once lived in this realm, huh?ʼ Zhang Fei was wondering in his heart after hearing Zefyrʼs question. ”Unfortunately, I donʼt belong to their group, and I come from a realm lower than this one.”

”Huh?” Zefyr was surprised to hear that right before asking in a disbelief tone. ”Did you really come from a lower realm than here?”

”Thatʼs right.” Zhang Fei [1] answered with a nod. ”Anyway, my name is Zhang Fei, but I didnʼt expect to meet a fairy in this realm.”

”Actually, many races other than humans live in this realm; itʼs just that they never show themselves to humans, especially since we hate humans, and we all live deep in the forests of the western region.” Zefyr spoke as she sat on Zhang Feiʼs shoulder.

Since she already knew that he was a heavenly fox, she no longer showed any hostility towards him, mainly because the ancestors of the fairies and the heavenly foxes had a close relationship. ”However, Iʼm still curious about how you can be a human and a heavenly fox at the same time.”

”Long story short, I was a human at first, but due to an accident, I turned into a Heavenly Fox.” Even though the fairies are gentle creatures, Zhang Fei [1] still doesnʼt want to tell Zefyr in detail, especially since sheʼs new to him. ”Anyway, why do you want this wind elemental seed? Is it any use to you?”

Zephyr shook her head at Zhang Fei [1]. ”Actually, this seed is useless to me, especially since it is lower rank. However, it is a natural treasure, so I donʼt want humans to get it.”

”I see.” Zhang Fei [1] nodded in understanding, but he still didnʼt expect that fairies hated humans so much. If he didnʼt have his feavenly fox bloodline, then he wouldnʼt be able to talk to Zefyr this casually either. ”I really need this wind elemental seed, so I hope you can give it to me.”

”You can have it, since you are the Heavenly Fox.” Zefyr replied with a nod. ”Unfortunately, you wonʼt necessarily be successful in obtaining the wind element.”

”I know that, but it wouldnʼt hurt if I gave it a try, right?” Zhang Fei [1] really hoped to get the wind element, but he wasnʼt sure he could obtain it either.

”Hehe.” Zephyr chuckled at that. ”However, you are lucky because I am a wind fairy, and I can help you obtain the wind element with this seed.”

”Really?” Zhang Fei [1]ʼs eyes sparkled upon hearing that.

”Yes.” Zefyr then floated in front of Zhang Fei [1]. ”You can swallow the seed, and I will help you activate it, so you will get the wind element.”

Zhang Fei [1] became so excited at Zefyrʼs words that he immediately sat cross-legged on the ground and swallowed the wind elemental seed.

[Ding]

[Wind elemental seed detected.]

[The process of absorbing the wind elemental seed begins.]

[The chance for the host to get the wind element is 20%.]
