The Deadly Hitwoman: The Heiress's Special Abilities

Chapter 230: Chapter 230: Breaking the Cocoon, Reborn (Part 16)

”Mother, have you agreed to let An’an treat you?” Han Jing asked.

Su Yaogeng nodded, ”I trust you, and I trust Xue’er. You are both good children, and I am willing to give it a try.”

Whether it succeeds or not, hasn’t her life always been like this? What is there really to fear? What she should have lost, she has long ago. There’s nothing to be afraid of anymore. Even if disappointed, could it be worse than it already is? Besides, she’s never felt more hopeful now.

At her age, even if it fails, she would just continue living as she is now.

And if by luck it succeeds, then she would be able to break the curse of many years. Regardless of what happens in the future, she can finally lay down the nightmare that has haunted her for years, lay down this burden in her heart, so how could she not be moved?

”When An’an returns tonight, I’ll let her start preparing,” Han Jing said happily.

”No rush, let Xue’er rest first. Today has really tired her out,” Su Yaogeng could tell that for An Chuxue, who has no martial arts skills, such long periods of mentally intense healing were truly exhausting.

Han Jing nodded, ”Mother, don’t worry, it will surely be cured. From the moment I found out about this, I just knew that meeting An’an was destiny.”

Su Yaogeng smiled and nodded. If it is indeed destiny, she hopes Heaven will be compassionate to her this time!

Returning to the Princess Mansion, Housekeeper Wang had already come back. Things didn’t go particularly smoothly, though.

With nothing else to do, Han Jing decided to stay and hear the outcome with Su Yaogeng.

As it turned out, Housekeeper Wang went to the government office to lodge a complaint. The Prefect was rather polite upon realizing he was the chief steward of the Princess Mansion. Upon learning of the situation, he immediately sent people to summon Mr. Zheng.

But the matter did not go smoothly.

Because, when Mr. Zheng heard that the government officials were there to summon him, he sneaked out from the back door and hid in the Crown Prince Mansion.

It just so happened that the Crown Prince had entered the palace and hadn’t come out, so the officials didn’t dare to barge into the Crown Prince Mansion. They submitted a written petition, but no one responded. The officials waited outside the Crown Prince Mansion for over an hour but received no reply, so they had no choice but to leave.

Without being able to summon the person, the case could not be tried. The Prefect couldn’t afford to offend either side and had to politely persuade Housekeeper Wang to return and wait until the Crown Prince returned to the mansion.

”Hmph! This is simply outrageous! Run to the Crown Prince Mansion and there’s nothing that can be done?” Su Yaogeng slammed her hand on the table, ”Go, Aunt Xi, prepare pen and paper. I will personally write a petition to demand the person from the Emperor! Just the brother of a Crown Prince Consort, acting so lawlessly?”

Su Yaogeng was never one to suffer losses quietly. Now that someone had the audacity to bully her in her own mansion, if she remained silent and let this go, who would dare to work for her Princess Mansion in the future!

Aunt Xi immediately prepared pen and paper, and Su Yaogeng personally wrote the petition and sent someone to deliver it directly to the palace.

As it was nearing the year-end, memorials from various places were numerous, so the Crown Prince had been left behind to assist the Emperor with administrative matters.

Su Yaogeng’s petition had special privileges and could be delivered directly to the Emperor. Since Su Yaogeng rarely submitted petitions, the Emperor, a bit drowsy from reading memorials, perked up immediately upon hearing that Su Yaogeng had submitted one: ”Bring it to me quickly. This is quite rare, when does Zheng’er ever have issues that she doesn’t come to the palace to discuss but instead sends a petition?”
