The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 189: Goddess of the Abyss and her daughters

”Is everything alright, Echidna-sama?” I hear a voice speaking to me telepathically, even though time stops when the goddesses come to the empty Universe, that doesn’t matter for places without the concept of time.

It means that in the abyss, everything is working normally since the concept of time is non-existent there and it functions on the basis of what I decide to be.

”Yes, I think it is” I respond to my servant telepathically while caressing Pandora’s head, who is unconscious due to the information she is receiving.

”Are you sure? Is your daughter what you expected?” She asks me curiously.

”I can’t say for sure, she is... unique, but there was no way she could be perfect, so I guess it’s fine this way, it could have been much worse.” Pandora is not perfect, but she is still within my expectations.

”Then why are you showing affection to her, but you didn’t give any to your first daughter? You barely recognized your first daughter as your daughter and hardly made an effort to try to see her or do anything for her.”

”...”

”My first daughter is an unworthy failure undeserving of my attention.” She failed to be something within my expectations, and in the end, the results she achieved were mediocre.

For mortals, what she did was unbelievable to the point of being considered the strongest demon king in history, but from my perspective, her result was mediocre she who reached the level of a goddess only managed to achieve flawed results.

The only good thing she did was to eliminate some of the goddesses, other than that, everything else was completely mediocre; her own mentality was a failure.

She wanted to please me, that’s undeniable, but she was too limited by her ideals and never reached what I asked, she couldn’t even bring me to the planet in 5,000 years of governance.

From the moment she was born, I already foresaw that she would disappoint me. For the Tenebris Abyssus, a more aggressive birth is natural. Pandora broke her own egg and then her first reaction was to seek food, and this is the right reaction.

If Pandora hadn’t been fed, she would have started killing everyone in the mansion to satisfy her hunger a little.

However, Azraelith was not like that, she was sleeping and accidentally broke the egg, and her first actions were not as they should have been, to the point where she only sought food 1 day later.

A clear mistake, since the Tenebris Abyssus, when born, need a lot of immediate nutrition.

I observed the birth of the two, as a mother it was a duty and depending on how they were born, it showed whether they would be a failure or not. Azraelith disappointed me with her birth.

However, Pandora managed to surprise me. She was born prematurely, breaking her egg several days earlier than she should have. The eggs of the Tenebris Abyssus are quite resistant, and breaking them prematurely is difficult.

The eggs become slightly weaker as time passes, making them easier to break as time goes on, but Pandora, who broke it prematurely, ended up breaking it when it was relatively harder.

It was 3 times harder than it should have been, and she managed to break it with ease. Just that already showed her talent compared to her sister, who was born late and only broke the egg by chance when it was 10 times more fragile than it should have been.

Her reactions and birth already showed her capabilities. Pandora is undoubtedly more talented than her older sister.

”You’re so cold, you know, Echidna-sama. Your first daughter adores you so much, she venerates you and tries her best to impress you. I think she’ll be very jealous when she finds out about the attention you’re giving to the younger daughter.”

”I don’t care about that. If that failure wanted to impress me, she shouldn’t have been sealed by something so ridiculous.” We are different cases. In my case, I am forced to stay in the abyss.

I have no choices related to this and I am practically trapped in it. Merging with the abyss ensured my survival, but in return, it limited my passage to other places.

”I don’t understand where I failed for her to be such a failure, she was the work of hundreds of millennia.” To form Azraelith’s egg, I took more than 100,000 years, and in the end, she was a failure that barely reached the age of 6,000 years and was sealed.

While Pandora’s egg is not even 4,000 years old and is still much better. The time I spend creating the egg does not define the strength, but it still guarantees certain extra things.

Azraelith’s egg was undoubtedly very well crafted, although the delay in making it was because she was the firstborn and I was still producing it in my womb without knowing exactly what to do.

While with Pandora, I already knew exactly what to do with the egg, so it was obviously faster to have her.

”But Echidna-sama, why did you suddenly become so happy?” My servant asks. She didn’t hear or see much of what I did and said to my daughter.

However, the abyss changes depending on my emotional state.

”My daughter was very blessed... Oriane really likes her, and that alone makes her more special than I initially thought.” Pandora carries the Letter E of the primordial goddess, in addition to also having the primordial goddess’s heart, with a Special Grade sword in her hand.

This alone makes her incredibly favored, and she also became a goddess extremely quickly. I thought it might take hundreds of millennia for her to catch the primordial goddess’s attention.

”Echidna-sama, I understand that she is incredible... but is she reliable?” My servant speaks with distrust in her voice. A smile appears on my face.

”Yes, she is very reliable. In terms of devotion, she is similar to Azraelith, in addition to actively seeking my love and not minding being used, since she always knew why I created her.”

”Moreover, she has real talent in that matter.” I don’t understand why she was a failed hero, but as a Tenebris Abyssus, her talent is at the genius level.

Tenebris Abyssus evolve extremely quickly, so it’s hard to call them geniuses, after all, it’s as if their existence is a complete cheat.

However, evolving quickly varies. Azraelith, for example, didn’t learn as quickly as Pandora. Considering Azraelith’s talent, if I made the core request I made for Pandora, Azraelith would take about 3 days.

”Echidna-sama, if you think that way, then I agree with your decisions, but doesn’t that make your daughter a dangerous person? After all, your children will someday surpass you.”

”I don’t mind being surpassed, as long as I achieve what I want, and anyway, my grandchildren will also be stronger than their mothers.”

”So Pandora’s children could become stronger than Pandora, and consequently stronger than me, although that depends on the right stimuli, so Pandora’s children are unlikely to become stronger than me or her.”

”After all, Pandora will probably be the type of mother who won’t let them go through too much danger.”

”So, in the end, Pandora and I will be the strongest beings alive, other than Oriane, and I will be able to accomplish what I want.”

”Echidna-sama, then you really will give love to Pandora as a daughter?”

”Yes, I will.”

”Even though you didn’t give any love to your other daughter?”

”Yes, I don’t care about it enough to find it important.”

”And if your daughters fight each other because of this?”

”...It probably won’t happen, and if it does, I won’t interfere. Pandora and Azraelith are smart, they’ll know how to resolve their disagreements, and it might even be good for both of them to get stronger.”

”Echidna-sama... you’re so irresponsible. You should pay more attention to what your children do, you know? My children are a pain. If I don’t pay attention, they fight all the time. Three of them were devoured by their siblings. It’s so annoying.”

”My children won’t devour each other!” I say angrily. How dare she compare my children to her children? I’ve made all possible guarantees for my children to be loyal and protective of the family.

Pandora would never kill or eat her older sister... of course... if it’s in a sexual sense, I think Pandora could try to get/eat her older sister, especially since Azraelith is exactly Pandora’s type.

”Maybe... Hahaha,” I laugh at the brilliant idea.

”!!!”

”Echidna-sama, thank you!!” My servant thanks me. My happiness positively affects the abyss, and good things happen for its inhabitants, so she would obviously be grateful.

”Why the sudden happiness, Echidna-sama?”

”I just thought about how to have the perfect grandchild. If Pandora and Azraelith have a child, a pure-blooded Tenebris Abyssus will emerge. He would undoubtedly be an incredible being.”

I made it so that the Tenebris Abyssus could have perfect hybrid children, since there are few Tenebris Abyssus, so I did my best to make hybridization perfect.

However, there are two Tenebris Abyssus, and gender is not relevant to this race. Pandora and Azraelith can impregnate each other.

A child between the two would be perfect. Azraelith may not have talent and be a failure in my view, but that doesn’t change the fact that she is strong and has incredible genes.

The union of the two would form an even stronger Tenebris Abyssus.

”Echidna-sama... the idea is very good, but how could you make the two see each other that way?”

”I don’t need to do much, really. Azraelith is Pandora’s ideal type, and Azraelith doesn’t have an ideal type, but she could definitely fall in love with Pandora if she receives love from her.”

”Tenebris Abyssus are very sentimental in their search for family affection. Since Azraelith is a failure and doesn’t receive love from me, if she receives love from Pandora, she will fall in love with her.”

I did it this way to avoid betrayals. I don’t need a child who will betray me, and with the strength they can reach, if they betrayed me, it would be bad. So I made their very genetics be like that.

And combining this with the love that Pandora seeks, it perfectly shows the effects of such a thing, although for other goddesses, manipulating the genetics of a child like this is bad. For me, I don’t care. I don’t need that annoying morality that some have.

They are my children, and I choose how they should be. No one can dictate that other than me.

”Echidna-sama, I have to go now. My children are hunting something, and I want to watch and also prevent them from killing each other.”

”Of course, do as you wish.”

I’ll stay here caressing Pandora until she wakes up. She may not be perfect, but she’s still a successful daughter.
