The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 175: A Sun that hides a Black Hole

”Delphina, how powerful is the Primordial Goddess?” Now I’m curious, how strong is a being that created the goddesses.

”I’m not sure how to answer that question..., but let’s suppose like this”

”An ant cannot crush an apple with its hands, but a human can crush the apple with their hands, a human cannot crush the world with their hands, but a goddess can crush the world with their hands”

”This is where the Primordial Goddess comes in, she can crush this universe with her hands, since she is not in the system her power is incalculable, all we know is a small base”

”Her power would be at the level of the multiverse or perhaps more, after all she can leave this universe and rise to higher universes and still be powerful”

”...Sorry, but I didn’t understand” The conversation is escalating too quickly, I didn’t even know there were other universes.

”...It’s okay, you don’t really need to try to know about this, it’s not like you could go to a higher universe and if you did you would be weaker in it, there are also lower universes”

”This is the case with heroes, the magic that summons them pulls them from a lower universe, but it also goes through a process to make them suitable for this world, which gives them considerable strength”

”But in the case of goddesses, we see no reason to try to go to another universe, it’s pure stupidity and can lead to death for various reasons, not even the Primordial Goddess goes to others even if she can”

”Each being should stay in their own universe, after all, beings that are from other universes usually cause some annoying disturbance, especially if they are in a higher universe and go to a lower one”

”As in your case, if you went to the universe where the heroes come from, you would be invincible, since there is no magic, goddesses or abilities there”

”Okay, can we change the subject?” I feel uncomfortable with this topic.

”Sure, it’s not very comfortable to talk about this, after all it makes you question what existence really is, I have a simpler thought that helps not to think about it”

”I exist, so it’s all right”

’...does that make any sense?’ It doesn’t make much sense to me, it seems like a lazy way of thinking.

”...Your confusion is clear, but I’ll explain why I think this way, the Primordial Goddess is a self-sustaining existence”

”She created herself, she didn’t exist, but even though she didn’t exist, she was able to create herself, just that shows how powerful she is”

”But the question arises, if you have so much power and create a universe, doesn’t everything seem monotonous and false? You look at the creation and think that it doesn’t have so much value”

”That’s why I think the Primordial Goddess limited her knowledge, that is, she is pure and naive because she decided it was better that way”

”And I agree, it would be terrible if someone as strong as her were apathetic and uninterested in anything”

”But purposefully becoming pure also caused problems, after all she always tries to help, but with her terrible sense of strength she ends up causing problems”

”The Primordial Goddess is a...sad existence, she is the most complex paradox of a powerful being, but who is also vulnerable”

”What I recommend is not to think too much about this subject, after all if it’s not important we can ignore it, I just thought you needed to know since it’s connected to the Primordial Goddess”

’She’s right, knowing there are more universes doesn’t matter’ I want to live with those I love after I take my revenge, not wander around.

”Okay, could we go back to the topic of the Void Universe?” We got off track, there was so much information at once.

”Of course, but there’s not much more to explain, after all it’s a confusing place so you have to see it for yourself”

”I can only give you a few recommendations, for example don’t accept duels from anyone, they will kill you for sure since you are weak”

’Straight to the point...’

”Also don’t wander too much in the corners or the Silver Witch will start following you, and I must say it’s kind of uncomfortable to have her following you even if she doesn’t do anything”

”This whole conversation is getting...boring, let’s eat something?” I say to her as I get up and go to the table with food.

”Sure” She agrees with me as she comes to the table, I look at the things on the table, there are various foods that I don’t know, probably a specialty of this kingdom.

”Pandora, have you already gotten your divine weapon?” Delphina asks while taking a bite of a sweet.

”Divine weapon?” I question while biting into the same type of sweet she grabbed, it has a sweet, soft flavor and a molded shape.

”Each goddess has a divine weapon, they have an ability that only that weapon will have and no one else can use that divine weapon besides the owner”

”They don’t have a rank, but they are quite strong, and their abilities are usually very good, Delphina’s original weapon are two twin daggers that represent a shark’s fangs”

”I don’t have one, how do I get one?” I ask while grabbing another sweet to try, Delphina takes a sip of juice and speaks again.

”I don’t know? Mine just appeared out of nowhere, I was in my room and suddenly I was holding two daggers, I felt they were special and connected to me”

”Then it’s a shame I don’t have such a weapon” I say while grabbing an orange juice and drinking, experiencing the citrus flavor of the fruit, everything is quite delicious.

”Pandora, what are you going to do? I mean, regarding your life, I’m not sure what path you’re following” Delphina asks a deep question.

”I...I’m following the path paved by my feelings” A path that begins with revenge and will end when I get what I want.

”You’re avoiding the question, I mean more centrally what are you seeking?” She insists.

”I’m not stupid Pandora, I may not have much sexual knowledge, but I know enough about people to know that you always seem dissatisfied”

”A certain darkness hides deep within you”

”So tell me, what are you hiding behind a mask?”

”...”

”...You wouldn’t want to know” I say, cutting off this conversation. I know well what I hide behind a mask, I hide a blood-thirsty monster that I can barely contain.

Every time I see a hero, I wonder if this mask can hold back that monster hidden in my darkness, every time I’m near a hero, it’s as if there’s just a small thread away from me killing them right there.

”Are you going to let yourself sink into that darkness?” Delphina asks, ignoring my desire not to continue this conversation.

”I’ve been sinking into it for some time now” When I connected with my monstrous side, I sank into this darkness, as if my past self and my current self had become one.

If I had to say, I can hardly be the same being as that weak human I have memories of, between me and him there is nothing that is equal except the desire for revenge.

To be more precise, my weak self full of humanity was devoured by my monstrous self, not metaphorically, but in a literal sense, almost everything of that human was consumed for me to be what I am currently.

I don’t even know if I’m still that being in a different body, or if I’ve been Pandora since the beginning, but with the memories and feelings of that weak human.

And honestly, it doesn’t matter, whether I’m that weak human in a monstrous body or a monster with the memories and feelings of that human, I’m still me and I’ll do what I want.

”I understand, and haven’t you lost yourself in that darkness?”When she asks this with food in her cheek, it becomes cute and loses the seriousness.

”No, I found myself in that darkness, I found a part that was lost”

”You’re lucky, many are consumed by their own darkness without really finding anything in it” She says with a certain seriousness, as if referring to someone specific.

”Hehehe you’re right, I may have had some luck in this regard” I laugh softly as I agree, at the moment I let myself sink into my darkness, I might never have come back.

But in addition to being able to return, I even managed to get things from it.

”Pandora...weren’t you afraid of that?”

’Now I understand...she’s talking about herself’ The darkness that all beings have is somehow connected to them, Delphina has never overcome her own loneliness, with my help she only had a glimpse of how to overcome it.

”I wasn’t afraid, I threw myself headlong into that darkness” She looks at me surprised.

”If you’re afraid, you’ll never take the first step, recklessness is sometimes important”

”You speak in a way that makes it seem like you won’t live long” She says seriously.

”Hahaha do you think so? Well, even if I don’t live long, at least I lived the way I wanted, and I’m not that easy to kill, don’t worry so much”

”Pandora, how much are you willing to sacrifice?”

”...I...I don’t have an answer to that, and unfortunately I can’t help you, you have to overcome that on your own, maybe you don’t have to give anything and maybe you have to give everything of yourself” I speak directly to her without metaphors or hidden meanings, for me I sacrificed the rest of humanity I kept when I sank into darkness.

I no longer feel the slightest attachment to the lives of other beings that are not important to me, and I am more than willing to ruin everything without feeling any remorse about it.

”I...would you still like me even if I lost things like that?” She asks with uncertainty.

”Yes, I would, you’re mine even if you’re broken, you’re still mine and I’m not the kind to give up my things or abandon them” An undeniable fact.

”I see...you really are like the sun” A small smile appears on her face.

”The sun? Hahaha I think being compared to something bright is strange, but I understand”

”So Delphina, know that I am a big, bright sun that hides a black hole that will devour everything in its path, will you still gaze upon this sun with the same adoration?”

”Yes! Even if one day you consume me, you will still have been the brightest sun I could see in my life” she says with a big smile as tears stream only from her left eye.

’The original Delphina...’ The clone was probably showing all this, or rather all these questions and conversations were made by the original.

’What an interesting indirect way to have a conversation’ She seems genuinely happy with this, I think I helped her overcome some issues.

”Now enough of this conversation, okay my cute shark girl, let’s have some fun” I stuff a sweet into her mouth.

”Yes!...thank you...thank you very much” She murmurs as if I couldn’t hear, I decide to just accept the thanks in silence, pretending I didn’t hear.
