The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 157: I want.

The next stop on our date was a strange place, not a common structure but rather a mansion, yet the public has access to it. I see many people in the mansion and several guards.

The reason it’s strange is because it looks like a regular mansion, so it doesn’t make sense to have all these people interested.

”Pandora, what is this mansion?” I ask while Pandora just observes me with interest, as if she doesn’t want to miss a single second of taking in my body.

”It’s the place where I was born, currently it’s a sanctuary that the public can visit... my sister also has one, but I don’t know where she is at the moment and I’m too busy to go see it,” she responds calmly.

’The place where she was born...’ The culture of demons is strange, why preserve this? And even stranger to turn it into a sanctuary, I wonder if it was Pandora who asked for this place to be turned into a sanctuary.

”Zephyra, the doubt is almost written on your face, but I’m also not entirely sure why demons would have an interest in this, but in any case, it wasn’t my idea to turn this place into a sanctuary,” she responds as if she had read my mind.

’Am I that predictable?’ It seems like she knows so much about me that predicting me has become easy.

”Pandora, why do you want to show me this place?” I don’t know why she would show me this on a date, it doesn’t make much sense to me.

”I’ll explain it to you inside,” she says as our carriage passes through the gate and enters without being stopped by the guards, it seems they already knew about her visit, showing that she had carefully planned everything.

As soon as we get out of the carriage, we draw the attention of the public, who murmur admiringly at Pandora. She seems to be greatly loved by the demons.

Pandora doesn’t pay much attention to this and continues forward, guiding me through the mansion as if she knows the way perfectly until we reach an area with more guards.

”Good morning, Your Majesty,” all the guards bow and open the door. Pandora greets them and pulls me gently with her as she enters.

In the room we enter, there is a large, dark-colored egg shell that seems to be absorbing any light that touches it.

There are also some eggshell fragments on the floor, showing where the being that was born broke the egg to get out.

’...Was that where she came from?’ This is a bit strange, not the fact that she was born from an egg, but the simple fact that she was born at all. She is like a natural force, a monstrous disaster that destroys everything in its path.

That’s why it’s strange to notice that this being also had a ”common” birth like everyone else.

To me, it seemed as if she had simply appeared out of nowhere instead of being born this way. It’s quite surprising that the obvious is thrown in my face like this.

”Do you want to touch it?” Pandora asks me while pointing to the egg.

”May I?” She nods when I ask if I can touch it. I approach carefully, avoiding stepping on the eggshell fragments on the floor.

I touch the slightly rough shell, but when I do, I feel a shiver run through my body.

I sense traces of mana, but this mana is so dense, heavy, and malicious that it fills me with dread.

I don’t know what it was that I felt, but it was horrifying, and clearly not the Pandora I felt. I quickly look at Pandora after quickly removing my hand.

”Is there a problem, Zephyra?” She noticed my obvious fear, as I’m shivering.

”It’s just... I-I felt something strange...” I respond honestly.

”I bet you did. It’s the mana of the Abyss Goddess. What was the sensation? What did you think of touching the mana of a goddess?”

”T-Terrifying...” It was even more terrifying than feeling Pandora’s aura, and those were just traces of mana.

Pandora comes up behind me and hugs me tenderly.

”Don’t worry so much, Zephyra. This egg carries part of my mother’s mana, and in the future, the eggs I produce will also carry my mana. It’s natural for this to happen,” she caresses my abdomen in the area where the uterus is.

”One day, you’ll carry my child inside your womb, so I thought it would be good to show you the place where I was born,” I don’t understand what she meant by that.

I don’t see the connection between those two things.

”Your confusion is amusing. Zephyra, I want to have children, and I’ve told you that before, but I won’t lie to you having a child will be quite painful for you, just as it won’t be comfortable.”

”...”

”But I’m just trying to show my sincerity. I want you to understand that you don’t need to be afraid of me or our future children. Think about it, all beings are born in some way.”

”No matter how it happens, all beings have to emerge from something.”

”I love you very much, and our children will love you very much too. It’s in the nature of my race to be very connected to our parents.”

”Don’t you think it would be nice to have a little boy or girl running around excitedly, wanting to show you something they discovered?”

As Pandora speaks, she gently caresses the area above my uterus, continuing to talk about the subject.

”I know your father was terrible to you, but you can fix that with your children. Just take care of them the way you wished your father had cared for you. They can offer a kind of love that others can’t.”

”Doesn’t it sound nice to watch our children playing and having fun on a peaceful afternoon?” The way she speaks is as if she’s already imagining the scene.

”I-I... I don’t know, I’m not sure if I can really take good care of a... child,” Even without realizing it, I’ve accepted the fact of having children with her. I didn’t deny the idea, I just said I’m not sure if I can take care of a child well.

It’s as if with every second in this date, I’m believing more and more in everything Pandora wants me to believe, I’m slowly accepting more and more to stay with her.

”Think about it, Zephyra. Children always love their parents, it’s natural for it to be that way, and the children of my race have even more of this family love.”

”It’s not just because I’m a monster that I’m terrible. Did you know that wolves are a great example of gentleness in nature? They are relentless and brutal predators... but within their packs, they care for one another.”

”Wolves care for their own in a special way. Ironically, they even play with each other, though wolves have a hierarchy with an alpha, they still show affection and submission to maintain harmony.”

”Isn’t it similar? Think of it this way I’m the leader of our family, and all I want is your submission and affection in return. I’ll do anything for you and our family.”

Pandora’s hug becomes more affectionate as she gently rubs her cheek against my back.

’So it really is like that...’

”...This is so cruel, Pandora... You are so cruel...” I say, crying, after hearing all this. She’s saying all these nice things about family when mine fell apart while I couldn’t do anything.

She’s giving me something I’ve always wanted but never admitted I’ve always wanted a normal family that loved me, and now Pandora is trying to give me that in exchange for my love.

That’s why she’s so cruel, because she’s giving me a fragile hope that can shatter in seconds.

When there is no hope, despair cannot reach us, but when there is the slightest bit of hope, it can lead to an impossible pit to escape if everything goes wrong.

”Yes... I am a very cruel person, but I am also a very loving one,” she replies to what I said.

”So tell me, Zephyra, do you want this? To form a loving family with me?” Her voice is tempting, as if she’s trying to make me trust her completely, and it works perfectly.

”I-I want it...” I confirm.

She turns me around and gently pushes me to the ground without hurting me, then positions herself on top of me. I see her happy smile, her tail wagging excitedly, and her eyes shining like a child who just received the best gift ever.

”My dear Queen, I can barely contain the desire to have you carry my children right here and now... unfortunately, it’s not the right time...” She leans down and kisses me, and I return the kiss, embracing her.

Our tongues intertwine in a passionate kiss as we share saliva. I hug her tightly while tears stream down my face.

I want a family, but I’m afraid of everything crumbling like my family did in the past. I want to believe that everything will truly work out, that Pandora isn’t deceiving me and that she’ll really take good care of me as we build a loving family.

She deepens the kiss, which quickly becomes lustful. After some time, she pulls away, giving me space to breathe.

She stands up and offers me her hand to help me up.

”Shall we continue? We have many things to do,” she says with a gentle smile that truly shakes my heart and makes me blush even more.

”Y-Yes, l-let’s go,” I say, somewhat excited, as I take her hand.
