The Dark Rebirth of Pandora: Revenge of the Abyss

Chapter 184: Genius and Bestiality

”Why are you staring at me?” Elysia questioned as she noticed me observing her. The table was quite silent, as it’s somewhat difficult to start a dialogue without privacy.

”I’m just looking, I don’t think you can deprive me of that, don’t you agree?” I say arrogantly to her. She can’t attack me, so I can be as arrogant as I want.

She has no way to get revenge for this fact, after all, she can’t go to the world I’m in. Delphina said there are rules involving this, although she didn’t specify the rules exactly.

”Tsk” She sticks her tongue out at me. The gratuitous hatred between us is uncomfortable, but acceptable.

”Mom, can you come to my room later?” I ask my mom, who looks at me and nods. It’s hard to talk to everyone here, but we can talk better in my room.

”Getting to the subject” My mom says, looking at Delphina with a look of anger.

”Why did you decide to try to steal my daughter from me without my permission?” My mom speaks without any filter to Delphina.

”...It wasn’t quite like that” Delphina tries to deny.

”You bragged about it to me, so it wasn’t like that!?” My mom doesn’t care about her denial.

”I-I wasn’t bragging, I didn’t know you were listening” Delphina defends herself hastily.

”And it was your daughter who...well...it was her who started and marked me, don’t try to blame me.”

’Damn, blaming me!’ Delphina didn’t need to blame me...although it was really me who made her less innocent, but she’s the one who started wanting to treat me like a servant.

While my mom argues, I decide to try to interact with goddesses who don’t have obvious disdain for me.

”Hey Elowen, can you tell me what you created?” I ask Elowen, drawing her attention to me. She doesn’t show hatred for me, although she clearly avoids me. She’s shy, a contrast to all the authoritative goddesses here.

”I-I created p-plants.”

’Plants?’

”You mean the plant life?” She nods affirmatively. The argument between my mom and Delphina is intensifying, it seems my mom thinks Delphina forced a relationship on me.

’I see, so you don’t necessarily have to create a race.’ They’re all linked to a race, so I thought maybe to earn the title in front of the goddess title, I’d need to create a race.

”Hey Eryndriel, what is the World Tree?” I decide to try to make conversation with the goddess of the elves. She’s neutral towards me, so it might be interesting to learn more.

”...” She completely ignores me. This meeting is super boring and stagnant, it’s as if they’re deliberately avoiding conversation as much as possible.

They could at least be cursing each other, then I wouldn’t be so bored, after all, it’s not nice to see my mom arguing verbally with Delphina.

”I’m back” Aradia appears, pushing a cart with various trays. She starts placing them on the table in clearly calculated locations, and I wonder what she’s going to serve us.

”You can help yourselves after this, we can continue the meeting.” Each one pulls the tray and I look with curiosity. It seems each dish is customized.

The food for Eryndriel, Elysia, and Morynna are similar to what humans normally eat, that is, they are composed of meat from some animal, rice, although each dish is made with a different type.

And finally, an accompaniment of sweets and a cup of tea for each.

For Delphina, it was served some type of raw sliced fish bathed in various broths that have a delicious aroma, and as a drink, there’s a strange black liquid with a consistency that seems like oil, as it’s very viscous and bubbling.

For Elowen, a glass of water and a salad composed of various plants and fruits was served. It’s a simple but beautiful meal, I think it reflects her taste well.

For my mom, it was served meat, a very large steak that is dripping with black blood. The meat, although raw, is well-treated and seems to have been perfectly marbled, forming a beautiful appearance.

In my opinion, my mom’s meal seems the most delicious on the table. I wonder what that meat is, after all, the blood is literally black.

And as a drink, there’s an elegant glass with a red liquid that I deduce is blood from something, due to the strong metallic smell.

’I wonder what my meal is...it makes me curious.’ It seems that each dish reflects the individual taste of each one. I wonder if what’s served for me caters to my taste.

I pull the lid off the tray to see what’s been served to me.

”Oh...hey Aradia, what is this?” I question as I look at a relatively strange dish. It has a suspicious touch and appearance.

It looks like a common dish with meat, pasta, and vegetables, but besides the appearance that reminds me of something made by a human, everything is strange to just be a common meal.

First, the pasta, although it’s yellow and looks like pasta, it clearly smells of blood, and in an absurdly high concentration. It seems like she compressed meat and blood and then stretched it into a line.

”To cater to your considerably childish taste, your plate is composed 100% of meat from various living beings. There are at least 17 different beings making up just the pasta alone.”

”The steak is composed of 59 different beings, and the salad is composed of 1890 different beings to meet the nutritional needs of a child like you.”

”Since your age is young and you have just reached the age of a child, your meal was made with your bodily capacity in mind, so I made something healthy, delicious, and that can supply the nutrients you need.”

’...That’s a lot of different beings.’ It seems delicious, that’s undeniable. I look at what’s been served to me as a drink.

”And what’s this?” All the other goddesses have already started their meals and simply decide not to bother with my conversation with Aradia, so I’m the only one talking at the moment.

”It’s a mixture composed of the blood of some inhabitants of the abyss. As a being with a direct racial connection to the abyss, you should end up liking this drink.”

”Okay, thanks for informing me.” I pick up the fork that was served with it and roll up the pasta, I try the pasta, immediately liking it.

’This is really very good...’ One of the best things I’ve ever eaten, without a doubt. I cut a piece of the steak and try it, and it’s even more delicious than the pasta. It’s like an explosion of flavors for my palate.

’The salad...’ The salad is green as if it were made of plants, but she said everything is made of meat. I’m a little reluctant to try the salad, but I won’t deny this new experience.

”Hmmmm” I can’t help but let out a satisfied moan. This is simply divine, the flavor is indescribable. I’ve never in my life tasted anything with this flavor.

It’s simply an indescribable food. I continue eating enthusiastically. My mom gives me a slight smile, as if she finds the scene cute, while my tail moves excitedly.

Elysia looks at me with disgust, as if my meal were something disgusting, but I ignore her gaze and focus on eating this incredibly good food.

”I would recommend you be more careful,” Morynna tells my mom.

”In what?” My mom looks at Morynna with disdain.

”Your daughter seems like the type who will cause trouble. Honestly, it’s ridiculous to accept this child as a goddess. She shouldn’t even be here.”

”And who are you to dictate that? I don’t think a weakling like you has any moral to speak, after all, you’re just a dog on a leash.”

”!!!”

The atmosphere becomes heavy with this. I don’t understand what my mom meant by saying that Morynna is on a leash, but it catches my attention.

Morynna bites her lips hard, and blood drips and drops on the table.

’...It smells good...’ It seems delicious, a very good smell that excites my senses and awakens a primitive feeling of wanting to eat.

”Hey Morynna, let’s make a bet?” I can’t hold back. Her blood entices me, I don’t understand why it just seems too good not to try to get some.

”...What do you want from me, brat?” Morynna speaks with anger, taking out the rage she feels towards my mom on me.

”Let’s play odd or even. If you win, I’ll duel with you, but if I win, I want you to give me your arm.” Dueling with her is a guaranteed death, but I know how to ”cheat” and ensure my victory.

There is a rule that applies to both races and goddesses, and that is the rule that everyone must follow a base that composes their creation. That’s why if you’re a dragon, you have more affinity for something specific.

For example, dragons in general are terrible at any form of temporal magic. They never have affinity for it, and naturally this applies to their goddess who served as the basis for their creation.

So obviously the goddess of humans full of versatile abilities made the basis of humans full of abilities.

But the important thing is, Morynna is very limited to her race, and with that I can beat her, since she can’t use magic and doesn’t have racial abilities that would help her notice what I’m going to do. She also doesn’t seem very smart, honestly.

”I accept, brat.” She says confidently. It’s obvious she’s confident. The difference in status will make my move seem like a snail to her eyes, so she just needs to wait for me to make a move and then make her own, seeing what I played.

”Great, then I’ll be odd.” I say to her as I raise my hand. My bet caught the attention of the others. Delphina looks at me in shock, but my mom looks at me with a malicious smile, she seems to have understood how I’m going to ”cheat”.

”Aradia, you confirm this, right?”

”...Yes, the rules of this odd or even will be based on humans, okay?”

”Perfect.” Me and Morynna agree to the rules based on humans, and that’s what will help me win. I raise my hand, I can’t help but smile, after all, I’m going to win a goddess’s arm as a meal.

’Odd...’ I move my hand while counting, and as soon as the count reaches zero, I play my number.

In my hand, I have 3 fingers raised, and in Morynna’s, she has 7 fingers raised, using both hands, so the visible result was 10, an even number.

”...” Delphina seems sad, and the other goddesses don’t seem to care, but Elysia looks at me with anger, realizing what I did too late.

”I won,” Morynna celebrates, only to be shocked soon after.

”Pandora won,” Aradia informs everyone.

”W-What? She’s blind, I played 7, she played 3, that’s 10!” Morynna yells angrily, still not noticing what I did.

”Pandora played 4,” Aradia informs. I knew she would notice what I did. Aradia has characteristics of all the goddesses, so it’s obvious she can notice and possibly see what I did.

”4!!? She’s blind! She played 3!”

”Wrong, Morynna, she played 4,” Elysia informs coldly.

”B-But!”

”Hahaha” My mom bursts out laughing. There’s something Morynna forgot. Odd or even was based on human rules, but the players are not human.

Just as she can see each of my moves before I make them, I can also do something else.

”...” I lift my shirt and show my stomach to Morynna. Part of it is in monster form, and inside my stomach is an extra hand made entirely of black mud that is not visible from the outside.

And this hand has only one finger showing, that is, 1, and with that I played 4, not 3. Normally, showing the hands would be mandatory, but since this is a part inside my body, I’m not obligated to show it.

After all, I can’t just rip my hand off to show her. That’s why I didn’t really cheat. Morynna was just foolish to accept playing the game based on human rules, after all, 2 of my hands were visible, I’m not at fault for having 3 hands at the moment, it’s something of the race.

I could have made a hand in any hidden place inside my body that wouldn’t be cheating, as it’s something of my body, not magic, and it’s not dirty play, I just used a small advantage I had, just as she had the advantage of speed.

I knew Morynna would underestimate me, after all, I’m a young child with no experience.

”...You’re a damned treacherous monster, just like your mother,” She insults me as she rips off her own arm and places it on the table for me to take.

”I appreciate the compliment.” I love being compared to my mom. The others return to their meal, while Delphina sighs with relief and my mom tries to hold back a scornful laugh.
