CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1988: Chapter 1996: Found It Interesting

Whoever leaked this information is tantamount to indirectly killing Jane Sampson. Joseph Shaw felt that even if Jillian Carter knew about this, she shouldn’t act this way.

”Don’t let her grandparents know either. They’re quite old and can’t take too much stress,” Father Carter instructed. The elderly couple especially loved Jane Sampson as their granddaughter. If they learned about Jane’s accident at this time, both would be heavily impacted.

Old Sir Carter and Granny Carter never had good health, otherwise they wouldn’t have been recuperating in the countryside all these years.

”Alright.” Joseph Shaw understood the severity of this.

”Also tell your friend who knows about this, don’t let this matter spread further.” Father Carter’s voice carried a hint of anger, ”Otherwise, I won’t forgive him!”

”I’ve already warned him. He knows the seriousness of the situation and won’t utter a word,” Joseph Shaw replied hastily.

After hanging up the call, Father Carter and Mother Carter got out of the car and entered the hospital. Besides visiting James Carter, they were there to check on Jane Sampson’s bodyguard.

After all, in protecting Jane Sampson, he was severely injured.

Two days swiftly passed.

In these two days, neither a ransom call from the kidnappers nor new clues emerged.

The police station managed to find a big box of photos and rolls of film from the paparazzo’s home, as well as several memory cards for a DSLR. However, after two days of review, no useful stuff was found.

Instead, they found one million cash underneath the bed in the papparzo’s home.

In this era of convenient online payment, it is rare to see someone handling such a large sum of cash.

However, the paparazzo, when interrogated by the police, stubbornly insisted that the money was picked up by him.

He was afraid that the police would investigate the source of every transaction in his account. He didn’t even use the trading profits as an excuse.

However, everyone speculated that this money was likely the payment for goods sold to the kidnappers by him.

For instance, photos that the paparazzo might have captured of the kidnappers.

Because of caution, the kidnappers chose to give cash rather than using online transfers for more security.

But since the paparazzo refused to admit it, these were merely speculations.

While everyone was frantic and overwhelmed, on the morning of the fourth day after Jane Sampson’s kidnapping.

The internet suddenly exploded with news of Jane Sampson’s kidnapping at a hotel.

The news detailed the time and location of Jane Sampson’s kidnapping. Once released, it immediately garnered widespread attention from the public, as well as concern from Jane Sampson’s fans.

Right from the start, everyone feared such an incident might arise, so they kept setting precautions. However, despite a thousand defenses, they couldn’t prevent some ignorant hotel employees from leaking the secret.

Once the news was out, the police station, the hotel, and even the film set were besieged and overcrowded.

Rock Bell, as Jane Sampson’s agent, along with Coco Edwards and Harry Little Money as her assistants, became the focus of everyone’s encirclement.

Inside the hotel room, Harper Black and Brooke Black watched as an employee who leaked the information got pushed in by the hotel for the press reception with Jane Sampson and James Carter. Brooke Black was so furious that she kicked him directly.

”You said you thought this was fun? That spreading this around seemed amusing? Huh? Tell me, what’s fun about it? What’s amusing about it?” Brooke Black’s kick was strong enough to knock the person to one side, ”Didn’t the hotel warn you not to leak any messages? Can’t you control your mouth?”
