CEO's Reborn Wife

Chapter 1987: Chapter 1995: That’s Good

Jane Sampson’s life and whereabouts remain unknown.

Everyone is waiting anxiously.

And the waiting time is undoubtedly the most torturous.

It wasn’t until daybreak that Harper Black received a call from Sunny Black.

Over the phone, Sunny spoke in a low voice, ”Got in touch with James Black. James confirmed he hasn’t been exposed. The Old Sir didn’t inform James about his wife’s incident for fear of affecting his mission.”

Because it wasn’t necessary.

If James hasn’t been exposed, then the people who kidnapped Jane Sampson are not related to James’ mission target. Telling James about Jane’s kidnapping at this time might just affect his state.

”If it has nothing to do with him, then it might be for money,” Harper Black analyzed.

”If it’s for money, it’s easier to handle,” Sunny sighed. ”Another possibility could be targeting James’ wife, like an obsessed fan, and that’s much harder to deal with.”

”Whatever someone’s done, there will always be traces to find,” Harper gritted his teeth. ”I don’t believe we can’t find this kidnapper!”

After hanging up, Harper gave Brooke a reassuring look, ”It’s not targeting James.”

”That’s good,” Brooke relaxed a bit.

As long as it’s not targeting James, whether it’s a crazed fan or a kidnapper for money, at least Jane Sampson’s life won’t be in immediate danger.

They were worried all night that it might be targeting James, in which case James himself would be at risk, and Jane might not fare well either. ”Try to search that guy’s home as soon as possible and see if there’s anything useful we can find,” Harper urged the director. ”Do it quickly!”

”We’ve already arranged for people to go over once the procedure is done,” the director nodded.

”I’ll take these two cards back to the Bureau to see if we can find anything useful, like fingerprints. It’d be good if we can find the flower shop that sold the flowers through the cards or this box of flowers,” the technician carefully packed up the flowers and two identical cards.

The sun was fully up as the director led the team away from the hotel.

Father and Mother Carter, both elderly, spent a sleepless night and looked weary but were unwilling to rest at the hotel. Instead, they returned to the hospital, still worried about James Carter there.

On the way, Father and Mother Carter received a call from Joseph Shaw.

”Dad, Mom, I heard some say Jane Sampson was in trouble? Is it true?” Joseph asked outright, knowing that Father and Mother Carter had left hurriedly after a call yesterday.

But he didn’t know where they went and why.

That night, neither returned home, and Joseph, having heard about Jane Sampson from an acquaintance, made this guess.

”How did you know?” Father Carter’s tone was not pleasant, instinctively instructing Joseph, ”You are not to let Jillian know about Jane’s incident. You should understand the consequences if this gets out.”

Jane Sampson is a public figure; if news of her kidnapping leaks, it will draw even more attention than when that playboy from Capital Province was kidnapped back then.

In situations like this, attention isn’t a good thing.

On the contrary, it might provoke the kidnappers, putting Jane Sampson in greater danger.

”Dad, I know. Besides, even if Jillian knew, she wouldn’t say anything,” Joseph hurried to defend Jillian.
