Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 35: Chapter 35 Are You Human?

”The front... let’s not scrape the front, Ye’er...” Wen Xin looked pleadingly towards her daughter, surrounded by so many people, how could she be at ease?

”Everyone, please step out for a moment!” Luo Ye waved away the onlookers and turned to Wen Xin, ”Mom, we should do the full set. I’m here, so there’s no need to be shy, right?”

”Even with Ye’er present, I’m...” Wen Xin, blushing, glanced at Yuan Yuan, too embarrassed to turn over.

Luo Ye couldn’t help but chuckle, ”Mom, once I’ve learned how to do it, I’ll personally give you the beauty treatment. But if you don’t let Yuan Yuan do the full set now, you surely don’t expect me to watch her do it for others?”

Yuan Yuan began to laugh as well, amused by Wen Xin’s shyness, ”President Wen, the full set will give the best results. Once all the meridians are unblocked, you’ll feel your sleep and spirits greatly improve.

Your complexion is already very good, but there’s a slight yellowness on your cheeks. If we only tackle beauty treatments, it’s just a temporary solution, not addressing the root cause.

If you stick to having your meridians unblocked every week, I can guarantee that in a month’s time, your cheeks will be fair, clear, and rosy!”

”Alright then!” Wen Xin finally relented and turned over, though she shyly averted her eyes from Yuan Yuan.

”Mom, you’re so cute!” Luo Ye chuckled, caressing her mother’s bosom, ”I was raised by you, Mom. A touch shouldn’t be a problem, and it feels great!”

”Ye’er...” Wen Xin’s voice was tinged with annoyance.

Yuan Yuan tried hard to stifle her laughter, never having seen a child still embarrass their mother so much at this age, and it was even more unexpected to see the stern President Luo reveal such a charming side.

Catching Yuan Yuan’s expression, Wen Xin scolded Luo Ye with a blushing face, ”Look, even Yuan Yuan is laughing at you for being shameless!”

”Not at all!” Yuan Yuan quickly explained, ”When I’m in a good mood, the corners of my mouth turn up naturally. It’s not me laughing on purpose. I was born with a smiling face.”

”Let me touch it again!” Luo Ye teased with a laugh, ”Mom, no matter how old I am, I’m still your daughter!”

Instead of feeling shy or tense after Luo Ye’s teasing, Wen Xin found herself relaxing. After all, her daughter had been raised by her. Beauticians and doctors are the same in that respect, she thought, I’m really acting like a bashful little girl!

Twenty minutes later.

”President Wen, I suggest you pay close attention to your close friends and relatives,” Yuan Yuan frowned and paused for a moment, ”I’ve scraped out a ’xiaoren’ (person with malicious intent) on your back and two on your chest.

This indicates that the malicious people around you are very powerful, perhaps it’s one person or several. According to the location of the marks, they should have a good relationship with your family. President Wen, you must take my words seriously!”

”This... is it really that accurate?” Wen Xin hesitated, doubting that a few markings could determine everything. If that were the case, wouldn’t anything come out after everyone scraped their meridians?

”Mom, don’t disbelieve. How about this? There’s another customer lined up below. After she’s done, you can decide whether to believe or not. Seeing is believing. Compared to real examples, all words are pale,” Luo Ye reassured.

Luo Ye patted Yuan Yuan on the shoulder, ”You’ve worked hard. After finishing with the next customer, go home early to rest. From now on, we’ll limit the Crystal Meridian Technique to three clients a day. Your body can’t handle more than that!”

”I’m fine, actually moving around like this is good for my body...”

Wen Xin interrupted Yuan Yuan, ”Nonsense, listen to Ye’er. Look at how sweaty you are, your back is soaking. Next time you take your brother to get acupuncture, let Elder Feng adjust for you as well. Being healthy is the most important thing. Didn’t you just tell me not to go for a quick fix?”

”President Wen, President Luo...”

”Our understanding is clear, and the best way to thank us is to listen to our advice. When your brother is healthy again, he should also work at Wenxin Garden. You’ll be dedicating your life to working hard for me!” Luo Ye said jokingly, raising Dou Dou who was being as well-behaved as a kitten after stealing some durian pastries, ”Look, even Dou Dou knows, if you eat my food, you owe me!”

”You’re really cold on the outside but warm on the inside, you’re the kindest person!” Yuan Yuan’s excitement made her speech somewhat incoherent, ”Working hard for a lifetime” was essentially giving her reassurance with a Heart Pill.

”Don’t! Don’t say I’m the kindest person, that’s like cursing me!” Luo Ye joked half-seriously, half-jokingly. Kindness? She had it, but she would be kind only to those who were truly worthy.

After Wen Xin got dressed, Luo Ye instructed Liu Ping to bring in the next customer; she was a wealthy woman in her forties, quite plump, only two of her fingers not adorned, and the diamond necklace around her neck made Dou Dou squint blindly.

But that was to be expected. The Crystal Meridian Technique demands each person to own a top-notch Crystal Bottle, priced at 6800 RMB with a service life of one year, and the material and labor cost 380 RMB per session—which average families could hardly afford.

”I heard from the young ladies that you’re the owner of Wenxin Garden, and you scraped both a dragon and a phoenix simultaneously?” The wealthy woman looked at Wen Xin with interest, ”Is it true?”

Wen Xin smiled gently, ”Yes, it is.”

”You look like a person blessed with fortune, Wenxin Garden will certainly get better and better, and I’ll come here for my beauty treatments in the future!” The noblewoman looked towards Yuan Yuan: ”Teacher Yuan, hurry up and do it for me. I had a friend who once had treatments at Meizi, and she bragged about it so much.

When I wanted to go, Meizi had closed down, it was not easy for me to find out you were here, and I had to wait in line for such a long time!”

Yuan Yuan politely smiled: ”All right, Ms. Wang, I’ll do it for you right away, may I allow our staff to learn on the spot?”

The noblewoman waved her hand indifferently: ”No problem, let them learn. Once they’ve all learned, we won’t have to bother queuing up like this!” No sooner had the words been spoken than she had stripped bare and lay down on the beauty bed.

Luo Ye gave Wen Xin a meaningful glance, that is, look how generous this lady is, Mom, you’re acting all shy like a bride getting into the sedan chair, and you are the owner of Wenxin Garden!

Wen Xin, with a smile in her eyes, leaned into Luo Ye’s ear: ”From now on, Ye’er will be the owner of Wenxin Garden, and Mom is just here to help Ye’er look after the place.”

Luo Ye deliberately glanced over Wen Xin’s ample chest and lowered his voice: ”Mom, you’re so much thinner than her, how come your bust is still bigger than hers?”

”Naughty girl, bullying Mom again!” Wen Xin playfully pinched Luo Ye: ”You little rascal, just go on being naughty!”

”It’s the little rascal here!” Luo Ye handed Dou Dou over to Wen Xin’s arms: ”Compared to me, Dou Dou should prefer the soft embrace of Mom.”

The mother and daughter were whispering to each other, which to outsiders looked like they were discussing Yuan Yuan’s technique quietly, but the noblewoman lying there satisfied ended up snoring.

”Wow, it actually scraped out a crab, what does this represent?”

”And there’s a little person, but very small!”

”What’s this? A dragon! It’s actually a dragon!”

”This lady is also blessed!”

”...”

The whispering voices of the crowd woke the noblewoman from her deep sleep, who opened her bleary eyes: ”Did it scrape out a dragon? Did it really scrape out a dragon?”

Yuan Yuan responded with a smile: ”Yes, Sister Wang, your back has scraped out a dragon, a crab, and a very faint little person.” Seemingly feeling Wen Xin’s nervousness, Yuan Yuan smiled reassuringly at her, and then turned back to explain: ”Ms. Wang is a woman who brings her husband good fortune, and below, I’ll honestly tell you, please don’t be offended, okay?”

”Sure, go ahead. I’ve always wanted to know if this Crystal Meridian Technique is as miraculous as others say. I think it’s even more accurate than the Divine Fortune Teller!”

”Everybody, please leave!” After hustling the beauticians out, Luo Ye looked at the noblewoman for approval: ”Sister Wang, my mother and I would like to listen in, may we?”

The noblewoman responded readily: ”No problem, listen on, are you mother and daughter? President Wen, you’re so blessed to have such a beautiful daughter!”

”Thank you for the compliment. My daughter is now the general manager of the company, I’m just assisting her, and Teacher Yuan was invited by her!” Wen Xin was brimming with pride.

”Really? It’s my honor that you’re willing to stay and listen. I like interacting with people who have good fortune!” After the noblewoman finished speaking, she indicated for Yuan Yuan to continue.

”This... is entirely different from divination, it’s all based on the skin’s color patterns and their directions and locations, the mysteries behind it are too deep for me to explain...” Yuan Yuan picked up on the noblewoman’s earlier question and continued after a pause: ”Ms. Wang, you should be in your second marriage. After marrying you, your ex-husband’s business boomed, but he made a lot of mistakes that many men make.

After marrying your current husband, his originally struggling seafood business has been getting better and better. He cherishes you and treasures you dearly.

About six months ago, Ms. Wang must have loved eating crabs, but eating too much harmed your health, and now the sight of crabs makes you feel nauseous.

Ms. Wang probably had a leg injury when you were young. When the weather turns rainy, you feel your knees swell up. Your stomach is not very good, but your intestines absorb well.

There are petty people around you, but it’s not serious, they won’t affect you and your husband’s fortune. Let me add, after your ex-husband divorced you, his life has been going downhill. Am I right in what I said?”

Ms. Wang stared at Yuan Yuan, face full of shock: ”God... divine! Truly divine! Teacher Yuan... are you... are you even human?”

Nuan’s second update is here. Guys, throw all kinds of tickets towards Nuan Bar.

PS: The meridian technique is real, don’t think that Nuan is just making it up. Nuan has personally seen others scrape out these patterns. But Nuan is reluctant to spend so much money, only able to marvel at it from afar and admire how miraculous it is. Of course, in the text, it’s just for a normal transition to lead into the subsequent actions, not to indulge in anything supernatural.
