Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 27: Chapter 27 Evidence (Part 2)

Su Yan slumped down and sat for a while, her emotions suddenly surged again: ”I...I only did this because I couldnʼt stand you not respecting me.

Even if the company has the problems you mentioned, it shouldnʼt completely negate the hard work Iʼve put in over the years. I admit, Iʼve been a bit greedy for pleasure these past two years.

But in the previous years, Iʼve always worked diligently, and even when I hired my relatives and friends, they were treated the same as everyone else!

So, you canʼt fire me, understand the concept of ʼoneʼs death being a warning to othersʼ? Will new employees want to stay here after watching you treat a veteran employee like this, feeling disheartened?”

”Is there anything else?” Luo Yeshu comfortably leaned back in the executive chair, staring directly at Su Yan, with Dou Dou obediently standing by her side, like a little guard.

The large chair could accommodate one person and one bird, with plenty of space left over, presenting an ineffably amusing sight, but Su Yan didnʼt find it amusing at all. Faced with this young girl who played by her own rules, she was driven insane. She now deeply regretted her decision made yesterday, a classic case of capsizing in a ditch.

She felt that Luo Yeʼs gaze upon her was like looking at a dying fish flipping on its back, yet in those eyes, there was no pity, only indifference.

”Did you make or lose money on the stocks?”

”Ah?” Su Yan was startled by Luo Yeʼs sudden questioning, staring at her in shock, her lips trembling: ”What... what do you mean?”

”Donʼt you understand?” Luo Yeʼs voice became deeper: ”Embezzling company funds to speculate in stocks, are you aware of the crime?”

”How did you find out?” Su Yanʼs gaze towards Luo Ye was like one seeing a demon; only she, her big brother, and her husband knew about this matter, even Jiang Na was unaware that the funds for the inventory were transferred to her stock account.

”You donʼt need to worry about that!” Luo Yeshu glanced at her wristwatch: ”In fact, if you hadnʼt pulled those tricks yesterday, you might still have had a few days of freedom.

I was worried about what to do on Monday if my mom softened up, and you immediately laid out a solution for me, now itʼs all good, what a relief!”

”What... what do you mean?” A bad premonition rose in Su Yanʼs heart.

”Nothing, youʼll understand soon. Donʼt move, oh, be careful, my darts donʼt have long eyes; my Dou Dou gets scared, too, and likes to peck at peopleʼs eyes!” Seeing Su Yanʼs eyes darting around, Luo Ye lifted a small dart, taking aim at her eyes.

”President Luo...” Su Yanʼs mental defenses completely collapsed. She realized that the other party was a little female demon; she knew everything she was thinking.

”What... whatʼs wrong?” Luo Yeshu mimicked Su Yanʼs tone in response.

”Spare me, Iʼll have my brother transfer the stock money back to the companyʼs account immediately. I was just planning to earn some capital and then return the money to the company, I had no other thoughts, I swear!”

Luo Yeshu smiled: ”Swearing does no good, youʼre not guilty of just this one thing!”

”What else?” Su Yan felt her face burning up; this little demoness couldnʼt possibly know everything. It was impossible!

”Knock knock...”

”Here they come!” Luo Yeshu smiled and shouted to the outside: ”Come in!”

The door opened, and a thirty-seven or thirty-eight-year-old policeman walked in with two policemen in their twenties. Luo Yeshu quickly stood up: ”Uncle Shangguan, forgive me for not being able to open the door for you, hehe...”

The middle-aged policeman smiled warmly: ”Little Luoye, your changes have really astonished me. Ying Nuo told us at home that youʼve changed but I didnʼt take it seriously. However, if I tell them about the Little Luoye I see right now, Ying Nuo certainly wonʼt believe it again.”

Luo Yeshu showed a rare expression of shyness: ”Sorry for the trouble, Uncle. Please donʼt tell Nuonuo yet, until I sort everything out, I will personally bring her here to play!”

Director Shangguan chuckled: ”Alright, Uncle wonʼt be a blabbermouth!”

”Please hold on!” A young police officer blocked Su Yan, who was attempting to stealthily slip away.

Director Shangguan turned his head to look at the uneasy Su Yan and showed his identification, ”May I ask if you are Comrade Su Yan?”

”I...”

Luo Ye teased, ”Su Yan, itʼs a bit late to change your name now!”

Director Shangguanʼs lips curled slightly, ”Comrade Su Yan, you are suspected of embezzling public funds and falsifying accounts. Please come with us.”

...

The news of Su Yan being taken away by the police for embezzlement spread through the company in less than ten minutes. Those employees who werenʼt swayed by Su Yan to take leave were originally dissatisfied for not being Mr. Suʼs direct line, but surprisingly, this turned out to be a blessing for them!

Luo Ye was finally able to let go of the heavy burden in her heart. Her original plan wasnʼt supposed to unfold so quickly, but unexpectedly, Wen Xin had brought the new employees to familiarize themselves with the company earlier in the morning, and she accidentally obtained evidence.

Wenxin Garden is located on the edge of two districts. After some thought, Luo Ye made a call to Yunuoʼs father and quickly sent the evidence over upon receiving approval.

Director Shangguan, based on the irrefutable nature of the evidence, immediately estimated the timing of the arrest. Thus, she dispatched the evidence provider—who was also Su Yanʼs most trusted confidant, Jiang Na—to lure Su Yan over.

Originally, Director Shangguan planned to arrest Su Yan directly at her home, but doing so wouldnʼt be as impactful as directly arresting her at the company. She couldnʼt keep watch over the company every day, hence she had to resort to such extraordinary measures.

With this incident, Su Yan wouldnʼt think of getting out for at least twenty years. If Wen Xin found out, she would definitely be soft-hearted. Thatʼs why Luo Ye asked Wen Xin to avoid the situation. She didnʼt want to cause unpleasantness with Mom over such matters. It was rather impossible for Mom to accept this in a short period of time.

”Knock knock...”

”Come in!”

The figure of Wang Mengjie hurried in, looking uneasy at Luo Ye, ”President Luo, Iʼve come to cancel my leave. Iʼll be back to work tomorrow.”

”Thereʼs no need. Go to finance and settle your salary, then look for another job,” Luo Ye turned the monitor around, ”Take a look for yourself!”

”President Luo, I was wrong. Mr. Su said that if I didnʼt agree, Iʼd never dream of becoming the deputy manager of the beauty department. I admit I was blinded by greed, but I did it to earn more money to filially support my parents; otherwise, they would force me to marry early. Please forgive me!” Wang Mengjie started to cry.

”Everyone has their reasons. When making choices, one should consider the responsibility that comes with them. What you did was a collective act to bring down the company.

The issue is the company did nothing to deserve this from you. If youʼre not satisfied, you can sue, and Iʼll be there to the very end!” Luo Ye dialed the extension, ”Li Yue, come up!”

”President Luo, give me another chance. Iʼll work diligently at my job, with no more distractions. I promise!” The salary at Wenxin Garden was the highest in the industry, and if she left, where could she find a place with such high pay and no arrears?

Luo Ye shook her head, ”I wonʼt make exceptions for this kind of thing!”

”Please have mercy on me this once!” Wang Mengjie knelt down with a thud, just as Li Yue came in through the door, surprised at the sight of Wang Mengjie on her knees.

Wang Mengjieʼs face turned crimson with embarrassment. Just yesterday, she had boasted to Li Yue, intentionally not inviting Li Yue when she took a few from the beauty department out for snacks. Now, today, Li Yue became the deputy manager while she had to beg the boss to keep her. If there were a pill for regret in this world, she would never allow this to have happened.

Li Yue turned back her gaze, looking respectfully at Luo Ye, ”President Luo, what can I do for you?”

”Take this CD and this document. Post this notice outside the door. Youʼll be responsible for this task, and you can find a few assistants!”

Sigh, Nuʼan is really turning into a night owl. Better go to sleep quickly, still have to work tomorrow. Guys, when you see this in the morning, please throw a few pink votes my way for PK, rewards, and recommendations. It would make Nuʼanʼs day. How about it, hehe.
