Rebirth in the 90s: Her Counterattack and Redemption

Chapter 26: Chapter 26 Evidence (Part 1)

”Thump thump thump!... Thump...” Before Luo Ye could reply to Wen Xin, the urgent knocking sound rang out. Luo Yeʼs eyes flashed with a hint of a smile: ”Mom, didnʼt I tell you, if the plumber from Ancient Power comes, to just send them to the first floor to find Li Yue?”

Wen Xinʼs mind still hadnʼt grasped what her daughter meant, when Luo Ye had already shouted outside: ”Master, just go to the first floor to find Li Yue, she will take you to the clogged toilet, donʼt worry, you wonʼt be shortchanged.”

Su Yan was so angry she was about to explode, but since she didnʼt have the upper hand at the moment, she had no choice but to soften her tone and gently tap on the door a few times: ”President Luo, I am Su Yan!”

”Su Yan?” After a long pause, a voice of sudden realization came: ”Oh... oh, Vice President Su, come in!”

”Hereʼs my contract, President Luo, please take a look!” Su Yan almost spat the words through gritted teeth. Wenxin Garden was a wholly-owned company of Wen Xin, who willingly let her daughter act as president, and moreover, she was very competent. What could she say? Better try to hold onto her rights then.

”Who drafted this contract?” Luo Ye asked, looking at Wen Xin after finishing reading.

”Su Yan drafted it, and I signed it after reviewing it!” Wen Xin suddenly realized that she seemed completely unable to see through her daughter—how could the young girl be so calm? Did she really have a plan, or was she just stalling on purpose?

Luo Ye turned her head and instructed Su Yan: ”Vice President Su, sit down, letʼs talk!” She glanced at Su Yanʼs knuckles, which were white from gripping so tightly: ”No need to clench your hands so hard, Iʼm not planning on negotiating with you by force!”

Su Yan finally understood that this young miss was entirely different from Wen Xin. If it came to a hard fight, only she would suffer losses. So, with a stiff face, she slowly sat down.

Luo Ye stared at Su Yan, a coldness swirling in her eyes. She was not one to hold onto a mistake and refuse to let go, but this woman, the woman her mother truly trusted, was a real snake.

In her previous life, when the news of her father being taken away for investigation came out, Su Yan found out within the shortest time and transferred out the only assets of Wenxin Garden. When the Luo Family was evicted from the City Committee Family Courtyard, and Wen Xin wanted to take money from the company to buy a house, she found out that there was not only no money, but also a huge debt owed to the bank.

When Wen Xin found Su Yan, the woman coldly humiliated her, even going to court to sue Wen Xin for delaying her salary. At that time, when the Luo Family was down, everyone turned against them. Su Yan had plenty of ”evidence,” and as a result, Wen Xinʼs bank card was frozen. They could only use Luo Yeʼs pocket money passbook to rent the cheapest house and Luo Fengʼs pocket money passbook for living expenses.

During that time, the mother and her two children faced nothing but ridicule and mockery. Luo Ye always felt that apart from the love for her father, Wen Xinʼs departure was due to her disappointment in human nature.

Later, when Luo Ye had the capability to intervene in the matter, Su Yan had already died in a car accident, the cause of which was hotly debated.

Luo Ye had suspected that the Wen Family might have been involved in Su Yanʼs affairs, but since they didnʼt show up immediately, she held a grudge and didnʼt continue to investigate.

”President Luo, what do you want to talk about?” Su Yan felt uneasy under Luo Yeʼs gaze, those beautiful phoenix eyes seemed to see right through her heart, an utterly terrifying feeling.

Luo Ye withdrew her gaze from Su Yan and took a breath before looking at Wen Xin: ”Mom, tonight I want to eat roasted pork belly wrapped in lettuce!”

”Yeʼer...”

”Mom, donʼt worry, Iʼll handle it well!” Luo Ye gave Wen Xin a sweet smile, revealing her pretty dimples, and instantly Wen Xin felt a soft warmth in her heart: ”Okay, mom will go to the supermarket to buy ingredients, and later your brother will come to pick you up. Donʼt go back alone, understand?”

”I wonʼt go back by myself, thereʼs Dou Dou, too!” Luo Ye pointed to the little creature lying next to her, looking obedient and cute.

”Chirp chirp...” Dou Dou stood up cooperatively, puffing out its snowy white little chest.

Wen Xin looked helpless: ”You wait for your brother to pick you up, even with Dou Dou, otherwise I wonʼt leave!”

”Fine, fine, Iʼll wait for my brother to pick me up. Itʼs just a five-minute trip. Mom treats me like Iʼm a panda!” Yeʼer waved her little hand impatiently, and Dou Dou also stood up, flapping its tiny wings, ”Ouch!” accidentally fanning someoneʼs face.

Wen Xin hurriedly shut the door and left. She realized that Su Yan wanted to bully her daughter, which would not be easy. She herself was there, somewhat hindering her daughter from bullying Su Yan.

”President Wen!” Su Yan saw Wen Xin really leave and panicked, covering her face as she chased out: ”President Wen, President Luo doesnʼt like me. You canʼt just abandon me, right? Considering the nine years of hard work Iʼve put in, you canʼt just ignore me, can you?”

”Su Yan, now that Yeʼer is the general manager of the company, I really canʼt help you much. You should go back and talk to her. I have to hurry to the supermarket now, goodbye!” She may have a weak personality, but unconditionally supporting her own children is her principle. How awkward!

Yeʼer glanced at Su Yan, returning with a red face from Dou Douʼs fanning, and spoke indifferently, ”Su Yan, letʼs talk now!”

”Yeʼer, you have no right to fire me. The contract expires in five years!” Su Yan had a premonition of what would happen next from the change in how Yeʼer addressed her.

Yeʼer looked emotionless at Su Yan: ”Letʼs not talk about dismissal for now. I ask you, what have you created for the company?”

Su Yanʼs voice became excited: ”For nine years, without me managing everything, Wenxin Garden would have ceased to exist!”

Yeʼer nodded: ”Alright, then let me talk about the Wenxin Garden under your management. In the beauty warehouse, employees write up the bills, and Vice President Su, you sign them without checking, which results in expensive beauty products being used as hand cream by the staff and taken home for personal use.

The second floor has eight network administrators and four librarians. Out of them, ten are related to you, Su Yan. Among the network administrators, only one is technically qualified; the other seven only know how to turn computers on and off—I donʼt understand what these network administrators are for.

On the third floor fitness center, out of twenty-six employees, only six are professionals; the rest are migrant workers and sisters from your Vice President Suʼs hometown. Uh, what do they teach? Farming?

What Iʼve mentioned are just the obvious issues. As for the people youʼve placed in the finance department, you know very well what youʼve done. Su Yan, do you have anything to explain?”

”I did employ mostly people from my hometown, but I did so with President Wenʼs approval, and it was also for better management. As for the warehouse issue, Iʼll pay attention to it from now on!”

Yeʼer simply smiled: ”No need, you wonʼt have the opportunity to be involved anymore. Iʼm just letting you know that these are the results of your nine years of ʼaccomplishments.ʼ

My mother turned a blind eye to let you mess around, and you really took her for blind? Sheʼs been well aware of your actions, just didnʼt expose you, but from today onwards, the contract is terminated!”

Su Yan laughed sarcastically: ”You say itʼs terminated, and itʼs terminated? Do you understand the legal process of terminating a contract after itʼs been signed? The termination is fine, pay me the penalty for breach of contract, and for those employees who took leave—if you fire them, youʼll have to pay the breach of contract penalty too!”

”Take a look at this!” Yeʼer turned the monitor to Su Yan and hit the play button.

Su Yan stood up abruptly: ”How did you... do this?”

”Didnʼt you know thereʼs something called hidden cameras?” Yeʼer patted her forehead: ”Oh right, Vice President Su is busy with certain matters, probably didnʼt have the time to pay attention to these. But Iʼm not planning to enlighten you, go ask around in the electronics market yourself.”
