Bear School Astartes

”Yes.” Lann picked up a shrimp from the seafood cheese risotto, using a fork to push away the grains of rice, as he spoke.

”That’s exactly what I want your help with—The Lonely Mountain Kingdom dwarves have done the rough processing of Smaug’s dragon scales, but I currently don’t have a suitable armor design on hand.”

”Lonely Mountain dwarves, don’t they have suitable armor styles over there? Their craftsmanship seems quite impressive to me.”

Inquisitively asked the leader of the second group.

Details reveal the truth.

Although the Lonely Mountain dwarves presented only roughly processed dragon scale plates to him and Belengar.

However, when they measured these plates, they were amazed to find that even using the most precise measurement tools at hand, there was not a single bit of error in the dimensions of these plates.

This terrifying depth exhibited in technical details was just like the depth of the Ardan World.

On the surface, a group of people struggles on the cold weapons battlefield, but in fact, digging deeper into history... thousands of years ago, everyone almost broke the world itself.

Now the magnificent mountains and rivers are just the leftover battlefields after the war ended.

”Yes, but the style doesn’t suit me.”

The Demon Hunter ate the shrimp, shrugged while holding the fork, responding to the question from the bald one-eyed man across the table.

”Their armor is more suited for warriors on the front lines, but I’m a Demon Hunter, or rather a Hunter. The environment, opponents, and conditions I face are much more complex than a simple battlefield.”

The leader of the second group nodded in deep agreement: ”That’s true.”

This is the truth, ever since Wende, the ace among aces of the Hunter’s Guild, came to the New Continent.

The high-standard armor forged in the Workshop District is mostly made from materials he brought from his prey.

To deal with all kinds of monsters, Wende’s storage box and armor display rack are essentially filled to the brim.

There is armor outstanding in fire resistance, armor for cold and ice resistance, and armor that can protect the wearer from lightning strikes and currents...

This is one reason the Commander-in-Chief gave Wende independent accommodation as encouragement—he simply has nowhere to place so many sets of armor and weapons.

Changing armor according to different hunting targets is quite necessary.

This is the job requirement for Hunters.

Whereas Demon Hunters face even more frequent accidents and unpredictable opponents, they can only put in the effort to increase the fault tolerance on one set of armor.

”We are discussing how to design this armor.”

Belengar pointed to the excited bald one-eyed man, speaking.

”I originally wanted to see if I could guide the essence of these scales and dragon skin, so the armor could possess some unique abilities, but unfortunately, I failed.”

The leader of the second group shrugged helplessly.

He even seemed a bit incredulous.

”A hundred and forty meters dragon! How did it die so decisively? The dragon skin and scales have no vitality at all!?”

At this, Belengar and Lann exchanged a glance and shrugged simultaneously.

In this world, the monsters’ life force is too exaggerated, even after death, materials taken from them can retain vitality and be ’alive’ when placed on weapons or armor for effect.

Even carrying the monsters’ life essence.

In other worlds, not all but at least most monsters aren’t this exaggerated.

”Ahem, Smaug indeed died very thoroughly.”

As the person involved, Lann spoke a sentence.

”At that time, I used a very special method to inflict targeted lethal damage on it, cleanly and completely.”

The leader of the second group revealed regret on his face: ”That’s really a shame.”

The three of them chatted while eating and quickly finished their lunch.

Getting his armor done was indeed one of Lann’s two major goals upon returning to the New Continent, so naturally, he was very attentive.

After having dinner with the leader of the second group and Belengar, he immediately descended the wooden stairs built along the mountainside, heading towards the Workshop District.

At this time, Belengar was also heading down, putting on an outfit similar to the leader of the second group, which was the fireproof apron used for working in the Workshop District.

And fireproof gloves made of fireproof cotton, akin to oven mitts.

He didn’t bring these when he came, so it seems he’s already quickly integrated into the craftsman group at Star Base.

The Workshop District was still a scene of bustling activity.

Gigantic furnaces and blowers were operating cyclically, relying on the waterfall to provide power.

The molten iron inside the furnaces reflected the entire hall in orange-red hues.

Items kept flowing restlessly on the conveyor belt, half-finished weapons moved across it, must pass the exclusive seat of the leader of the second group within the conveyor belt circle for inspection, and only then count.

The leader of the second group had actually been away from the frontline blacksmith hammerwork for quite a while.

Sitting here was more about ensuring the normal operation of the Workshop District, as well as overseeing the quality of the equipment.

Similar to the position Belengar held in the Gos Velen Blacksmith Workshop, in the end, he was in a managerial role.

But the craftsman’s heart is always passionate, encountering interesting and challenging targets, they both would stand before the furnace once more, holding the blacksmith hammer in hand.

”Master! Grandmaster Belengar!”

Due to the constant activity within the workshop, a shift system is adopted. At this moment, the craftsmen, drenched in sweat and wearing headscarves in front of the furnace, greeted the two individuals entering.

The leader of the second group was the head master of the workshop district, so it was normal for these craftsmen to call him.

But as for Belengar...

Originally, upon hearing Tishaya’s age, everyone more or less assumed he was also an elderly person, and the craftsmen were hesitant to let him work in the workshop district.

However, once they heard that the basic material for that weapon which caused quite a stir among the craftsmen in the workshop district, Muddy Stream·Destruction, had in fact been forged by this person over recent years, all doubts vanished.

At that time, the leader of the second group chose to open the furnace outside independently with the materials to prevent the apprentices from prematurely encountering dangerous, uncontrollable ancient dragon materials, which left the apprentices dissatisfied for quite a while.

Eventually, he considered this as a forward-thinking act in the New Continent, revealing his unique techniques and the information about that legendary weapon to the apprentices, thereby calming their dissatisfaction.

This knowledge is indeed sealed in the Old Continent, and unless one has reached a certain level and skill, there’s no chance of hearing it.

But back then, the leader of the second group stated he employed mysticism rituals, which he only half understood, to successfully continue the forging process, ultimately resulting in that fierce greatsword—Muddy Stream·Destruction.

And now, a person who truly understands mysticism as well as being a master blacksmith has appeared.

Belengar’s professional skills instantly earned the respect of all the craftsmen.

He is respectfully called ’Grandmaster Belengar.’

”First, let’s clarify that our discussion has essentially formed a basic concept about this set of armor.”

Belengar spoke to Lann upon entering the workshop.

”However, since it’s custom armor, we definitely need the user to collaborate with us personally to achieve satisfying results.”

Lann agreed readily, ”That’s expected, we can start now.”

”Alright, let’s begin.”

Belengar said as he approached Lann, raising a hand to suggest he stay still.

Belengar skillfully began to dismantle Lann’s Grandmaster Bear School Armor.

After all, it was his creation.

With each piece removed, Belengar meticulously lined them up on the side, displaying great organization.

Soon, Lann was left only with trousers and a silk shirt, along with the long blade at his waist.

The leader of the second group was also busy; every time Belengar removed a piece, he would step forward to measure Lann’s size.

Although as a craftsman of his level, he could roughly gauge a person’s physique at a glance, he seemed exceptionally thorough this time, perhaps influenced by the precision of the Lonely Mountain Dwarves.

Surely, he could craft perfectly fitting armor.

”You don’t mind a skirt armor, right?”

The one-eyed bald man inquired seriously while measuring Lann.

The young Demon Hunter responded, ”Of course.”

From the beginning of his first set of armor, Lann has grown accustomed to skirt armor.

After all, the style of Bear School Demon Hunters relies on extraordinary physiques to wear heavy armor. The introductory version of the school’s armor was merely a long robe.

As the school armor upgraded, the material of subsequent robes grew heavier, and the Grandmaster level was directly heavy skirt armor woven from leather armor, cotton armor, and chainmail.

”Great.” The second group leader mumbled, ”Aligns with the outline of our design blueprint.”

”Design blueprint?” Lann, opening his arms to aid the two masters in their work, asked with interest, ”Does it include skirt armor?”

”Smaug’s dragon leather,” Belengar replied, ”Dragon scales, after all, have gaps. But using a lot of dragon leather would greatly enhance fire resistance.”

After speaking, Belengar, as if suddenly realizing, supplemented swiftly.

”Due to the limitations of Smaug dragon scales and dragon leather, this will be an armor set with commendable fire resistance, is that alright?”

Saying so, he pulled a sheet of draft paper from the workbench and handed it to Lann, then continued working.

”Here’s the blueprint. Any thoughts on the appearance?”

”Firstly, the drawing skills are impressive.”

”Nonsense, have you ever seen a master craftsman unable to draw a blueprint?”

Lann’s remark made Belengar almost chuckle.

After all, this artwork was collab-painted by the two master craftsmen.

Joking aside, Lann started to carefully examine the initial draft of the blueprint.

Meanwhile, Mentos began inputting the blueprint parameters into the information repository, conducting impact analysis under various conditions based on Lann’s previous combat environments.

There’s also stress analysis of the wearer inside the armor.

On Lann’s retina, data streams cascaded like waterfalls.

”Nothing wrong with thick pauldrons, but let’s remove these spikes. They interfere with pressure relief of external forces during compression.”

Lann flicked the draft paper with his finger, smiling.

”Such aggression, clearly local style.”
