Bear School Astartes

”Really took it down, meow!”

Rong Buqiu was the first to leap off the Qilin, and happily jumped onto Lann’s shoulder, balancing on tiptoes as he looked at the corpse of the Terror Tyrannosaurus whose blood had already stopped flowing and solidified.

”I thought it’d be really troublesome here since I’d run out of [Gold Resin], meow... so I quickly took the Qilin with me and went around to fetch Margaret first, meow!”

Speaking, Rong Buqiu crinkled his little face slightly, looking a bit guilty.

Lann raised a hand to pat his little head: ”It’s nothing really, I discovered something novel in the end anyway.”

Saying this, Lann briefly explained to Rong Buqiu about the [Sword of Thunder and Lightning] he wielded just now.

”Meow?” The Three-Floral Elu Cat tilted its head, its triangular ears flicking, ”But I remember those spells are... complicated no matter what, weren’t they? You just pulled it off once, meow?”

Lann shook his head: ”I don’t quite understand what happened, but anyway I just used it... It’s good news, right?”

Rong Buqiu eagerly nodded.

”That’s right! It’s good news, meow!”

”Anyway, it’s good as long as we’ve slain it!” Margaret spoke from the gradually approaching back of the Qilin.

She used Levitation Magic first to bring Sachia down, settling on the ground and letting Rong Buqiu hold her steady, then dismounted herself.

Though the injuries in her Green Dragon form were barely bothersome compared to her human form, prior to this, the Terror Tyrannosaurus had bitten her shoulder and arm fiercely, basically shattering all the bones.

In her human form now, her left shoulder was also fractured, completely useless, even a slight tilt might cause additional damage.

After dismounting, Margaret stood next to the giant thigh of the Terror Tyrannosaurus, sunken into the ground.

In a pose identical to Lann just now, leaning against the Terror Tyrannosaurus, craning her head down for a glance.

”Ah, it’s actually an Elven relic.”

The Female Warlock commented with interest, then turned to look at the Demon Hunter who had already walked to her side.

Only now did she seriously ask: ”Everything alright?”

Lann shrugged his shoulders, twisted his neck, and smiled: ”No problem.”

Once he’d said this, Margaret finally released a breath, hugging his waist.

”That thing scared me to death! Never seen a monster like this... You deal with these kinds of things over there?”

Her tone was extremely concerned.

”Not really.” Lann blinked as he explained, ”This Terror Tyrannosaurus is a particularly tough foe regardless.”

After calming the superficially tranquil, nonchalant, but actually worried Female Warlock, Lann moved before Sachia.

While starting to remove her armor components, he began to feel her left shoulder and arm, sensing the bone condition.

”Hiss~” Sachia inhaled sharply, but still forced a smile, ”You should get my left chest exposed, Duke Lann. I feel my entire left upper body is in trouble.”

At this moment, she was drenched in cold sweat, her dark golden and black hair and red-white hairband soaked.

”Calling me Lann is fine, sorry I didn’t introduce myself before, as you know, I came mainly to solve problems, not for any formalities.”

Lann nonchalantly responded while still examining her bones.

”Your chest shape is nice, Sachia. But it’s unnecessary, my medical experience is very extensive, no need to touch your chest. The ribs underneath are fine.”

”Really, what a pity for you.”

”Hmm, I sense a prickly tone in your words.” Lann lowered his voice, wagging his finger at Sachia who was looking at him.

”Though I don’t know why, I suggest you don’t provoke Margaret right now... It’s for your own good, Miss Green Dragon.”

Though Lann didn’t inspect Sachia’s left chest, given the style of her armor, examining the shoulder already exposed most of the luscious round flesh ball.

Lann retrieved simple medical tools from the Alchemy Pouch, slightly stabilizing the fracture, preventing Sachia from injuring herself with minor movements.

”What’s left needs standard medical treatment,” Lann, hands still dampened by Sachia’s cold sweat, stood up, ”Or do you true dragons have other ways to rapidly recover?”

”Transforming into human form... I must say, this maneuver certainly opened my eyes.”

Lann crossed his arms, showing interest in Sachia’s display.

Similarly, Rong Buqiu and the Qilin were interested, crowding close to watch the Female Warrior.

They had never seen monsters able to transform into human form.

Sachia clenched her teeth, leaning on the ground to stand up.

”You want to know? Not every true dragon can transform into human form.”

She lifted her hand to toss aside dark golden hair stuck to her cheek by sweat.

”I can transform because of my adoptive father. He was a Gold Dragon...”

”Gold Dragon?” Before Sachia finished, Lann raised a brow in surprise, ”I always thought that was a myth!”

”He was genetically mutated, perhaps the only Gold Dragon in the world. Saying it’s a ’myth’ is correct.” Sachia did not refute, ”Remember: every story holds a kernel of truth.”

Since the Demon Hunter and she were knowledgeable about real dragons in this world, they understood how rare the concept of ’Gold Dragon’ was.

The world acknowledges the existence of only green dragons, red dragons, black dragons, and the rare white dragons in the far north.

If it weren’t for her foster father, Sachia might also have doubted the existence of the gold dragon.

”Anyway...” The Green Dragon Female Warrior instinctively wanted to shrug but could only pale due to her injuries. ”My foster father can change into any form; I have been inspired by magic since childhood, but can only take on this shape.”

As she spoke to the end, Sachia pleaded.

”Can you help me keep this secret, please?”

”People view dragons as the nemesis of intelligent beings, considering us as the most cruel, vicious, cunning, and dangerous monsters. They wish to kill upon sight. But I still want to linger in the society you’ve constructed.”

But in truth, humans rarely hunt real dragons for ’eliminating harm.’

More often, it is for the treasure rumored to be gathered by real dragons, as well as dragon blood, dragon teeth, and dragon tears. These can be made into life-extending potions, cosmetics, sought-after aphrodisiacs, and such using alchemy.

Roasted dragon tail is also a famous dish that signifies status.

The warlocks are eager to use these things to gain more power and wealth.

”The Ember Knights are all my people; they and I won’t gossip. I also have some influence over the female warlocks.”

Lann nodded at Sachia, which inexplicably comforted the Green Dragon Female Warrior.

”You’ve already proven that you’re not a cold-blooded monster; I’ll repay your previous help with loyal assistance.”

Margaret, still studying the corpse of the Terror Tyrannosaurus, cut in unexpectedly.

”That’s nice, you casually fulfilled the promise for me.”

But when Lann turned his head to smile silently at her, the dean of Airetusa raised her eyebrows and said no more.

”Don’t mention ’help,’” instead, Sachia’s face flushed a little. ”I didn’t realize it would be so terrifying. I tried to help at the end but ended up being rescued.”

”It’s strange, like a natural entity, yet this madness seems somewhat...,” Sachia asked uncertainly. ”Is this something the mages conjured up?”

She looked shocked at the corpse of the Terror Tyrannosaurus. During her injury, Rong Buqiu and Margaret hadn’t had the chance to explain the situation clearly to her.

”No, it’s celestial convergence,” Lann shook his head. ”It’s unrelated to the mages’ magic experiments; it’s normal for you not to have seen this.”

Sachia knew that, in terms of experience, she still seemed quite immature, so she just nodded to show understanding.

”Then what about this corpse; just leave it here?”

”You were invited by Veltrest to the Ponta River Valley to solve a problem; this thing serves as proof of the resolved problem, right?”

Speaking of this, Lann couldn’t help but get serious, walking over to the corpse of the Terror Tyrannosaurus.

By now, its muscles had completely returned to a normal state, and the heat from its body was being dissipated by the cool air flowing through the elven ruins.

The dark green tough skin and scales were covered with dirty blood, oxidized to black, along with a stench.

Yet its fierce aura did not weaken in the slightest.

Margaret held a perfumed handkerchief to her nose, allowing herself to stand nearby and focus on examining this terrifying creature.

”No.” Lann’s palm and fingertips slid past the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s slick and dirty skin, suddenly saying, ”This thing can’t be left here.”

”It would be best not to let others see it either.”

”While it was alive, in less than a month and a half, it had already destroyed one-fifth of the Mahakan Mountains’ ecosystem.”

”Now that it’s dead, its corpse shouldn’t cause more waves.”

Whether because of the specific nature of this Terror Tyrannosaurus or the general mighty evolutionary and adaptive abilities of monsters in the New Continent world,

it had caused enormous destruction to this world.

Wherever the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s appetite was, it led to species extinction level consumption.

A Terror Tyrannosaurus devoured a batch of Fog Demons at a magic power gathering point, resulting in a curse that turned it into this.

One-fifth of a mountain’s ecosystem destroyed.

Natural recovery might not be accomplished in fifty years.

After all, using those cursed Fog Demons as ’feeding organs,’ the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s hunting target range even directly encompassed small creatures’ levels.

Entirely eradicating and consuming all life.

And after causing such a commotion, if the corpse of the Terror Tyrannosaurus were made public... then some might aim for the knowledge and power contained within the corpse; it’s almost a foregone conclusion.

Even disregarding these, would the corpse of the Terror Tyrannosaurus react with the chaotic magic power scattered throughout the world?

Lann felt overwhelmed just at the thought.

”Will others approve?” Margaret spoke lightly, handkerchief over her nose, ”After all, it’s related to the Ponta River Valley, and everyone’s anxious about it.”

And Lann’s tone was even calmer than hers.

”If they don’t believe it, they can go into the mountains and see for themselves if it’s truly over; what’s there to say?”

”And you...” Suddenly, as the Demon Hunter spoke, he turned his head towards a bush outside the elven ruins. ”Sir, as a witness, won’t you come out and say something?”
