Bear School Astartes

Belengar was sitting together with the second unit’s commander, tilting their heads to look at each other.

The one-eyed, bushy-bearded man felt uneasy under the gaze of the skinny, tall man with a long face and cat-like eyes; he couldn’t understand what he had done to upset him on their first meeting.

He could only smack his lips, rubbing his steel-brush-like beard, and then scratched his shiny head, appearing very much unsettled.

Belengar, on the other hand, focused mainly on the man’s muscular build.

It was obvious that it wasn’t built from exercise, but honed through work.

His skin darkened by the furnace’s fire, and the single eye possibly damaged by observing the steel’s temperature for long periods.

If such a blacksmith, coupled with his inherent talent, and the materials from the world’s creatures, which mere presence causes amazement.

Belengar somewhat understood why Lann felt reassured handing over the ”Muddy Stream·Destruction” for modification to him.

Even from Belengar’s initial skeptical viewpoint, the man was undoubtedly competent as a blacksmith, even exceptionally excellent.

Compared to those in Novigrad Blacksmiths’ Guild, who were better at assessing levels, issuing honors, and competing for positions than smithing, he was completely in a different league.

Since Belengar received the title of Grandmaster-level Blacksmith from the Novigrad Blacksmiths’ Guild, the old demon hunter, who no longer sought anything from the guild, had been holding a grudge against it.

However, the acknowledgment of the second unit’s commander only made Belengar see him in a slightly better light, ’a little bit’ more agreeable.

The alteration of his forged ”Muddy Stream” to its current state... Belengar could not swallow his pride.

”...That’s how it is.”

Lann, arms crossed, looked around the room, introducing the leaders of various groups within the investigation team to the instance of a conjunction of spheres in the Magic Middle Ages.

Including the unnatural size of the Terror Tyrannosaurus, the extraordinary power obtained from Chaos Magic Power pollution and curses, and the damage it caused in the Mahakan Mountains.

”There’s something like this?!”

Dou Ding’Er, the elder small in stature of the Dragon-man Race, trembled his lip and beard, leaving one to wonder if he was excited about the new knowledge or startled by the Demonized Tyrannosaurus’s destructive power.

The expressions of the others weren’t much different.

”One-fifth of the mountainous ecosystem suffered extinction-level devastation, with even birds and rodents of such size consumed... It’s terrifying and tragic.”

The director of the Plant Research Institute spoke with lingering fear.

The Sword Master and Little Jack, who had arrived upon hearing the commotion, stood together, the two hunters simultaneously stroking their chins.

”A Tyrannosaurus like that... fighting it would be tough.”

The Sword Master spoke in a muffled voice from within the helmet he always wore.

”Even without mentioning those elusive and incomprehensible ’Chaos Magic Power pollution,’ just hearing about its physical prowess alone would pretty much make it deserving to be called ’Furious.’”

”Furious Fearful Tyrannosaur” is a special individual of the Tyrannosaurus confirmed to exist in the New Continent.

Compared to an ordinary Tyrannosaurus, which might leave the ”muscle expansion state” due to insufficient energy or after a strong hit from a hunter.

”Furious Fearful Tyrannosaur” could maintain the ”muscle expansion state” endlessly, even dragged to death by the high metabolism rate, continuing to surge in combat strength, ferocity, and hunger as a special individual.

In the battle with Lann, not only was it not forced out of the ”muscle expansion state,” but its metabolic rate soared dramatically as the confrontation escalated, making it worthy of this title.

In contrast to the Sword Master’s savvy and calm demeanor, Little Jack, carrying his greatsword, was grinding his back teeth.

Honestly, just hearing the description, he felt that in a solo hunt, the Tyrannosaurus might be totally unbeatable. Even group hunting would be really challenging.

The Cursed Fog Demon was basically equivalent to a Fierce Jackal Dragon-type small monster.

Though the task for such monsters typically was at most basic one-star missions, competent hunters could easily tackle them.

However, dealing with a small monster solo versus facing continuous harassment by small monsters during a large monster fight were entirely different scenarios.

Little Jack’s greatsword technique focused on charging and timing; a single cut would be overwhelming for even large monsters.

But if interrupted during his charging process, a Fierce Jackal Dragon’s lunge alone would suffice.

And facing the persistent Cursed Fog Demon amidst the silent Magic mist alongside a super-sized Terror Tyrannosaurus... wow.

Just thinking about it, Little Jack felt like he was listening to a horror story.

Basically, everyone present showed intense curiosity towards the ’Tyrannosaurus that traveled to another world and, soaked with mystical forces from otherworld, became more perilous and enigmatic,’ along with apprehension.

The thing’s destructive capability towards the ecosystem was far greater than the original Terror Tyrannosaurus!

The original species of Terror Tyrannosaurus didn’t eat small animals!

”Speaking of ecological impact, this Tyrannosaurus surpasses many Ancient Dragon Species.”

After contemplating for a moment, the Commander-in-Chief spoke following Lann’s description.

”Despite being the ecosystem of another world, I still convey my regards, Lann, for your courageous task of eliminating it.”

”Protecting your world’s ecosystem is a remarkable achievement.”

”On the other hand...”

After affirming Lann’s achievements, the Commander-in-Chief changed his tone, looking at the young Demon Hunter who was also looking at him.

”You returned here after the campaign against that Terror Tyrannosaurus. Knowing you, I think you aren’t acting without cause.”

”Is it the corpse?”

The director of the Plant Research Institute, a young Dragon-man with little glasses, guessed before Lann could answer.

He turned a face with small round glasses towards Lann, showing an understanding expression.

”Handling the corpse is troublesome, isn’t it? Even as fertilizer, if handled improperly, it might harm the plants.”

”And considering that dangerous force from your world known as ’Chaos Magic Power’... won’t that affect the corpse?”

”You’re right.” Lann agreed with the director’s scholarly acuity, adding, ”Chaos Magic Power might affect the corpse and even the soul after death. Don’t forget those Cursed Fog Demons.”

”...” The director’s mouth twitched, his shoulders trembled, seemingly highly resistant to the notion of ghosts or the like.

The Commander-in-Chief nodded his dark face: ”I roughly understand now. You want to send that Terror Tyrannosaurus corpse back to the New Continent, to let nature decompose it and also that dangerous power? But...”

At the end, the Commander’s white eyebrows knit together on his black face.

The Dragon-man Dou Ding’Er, an old man from the Ecological Research Institute, picked up the conversation, speaking softly.

”But, that kind of Chaos Magic Power is pervasive, isn’t it?”

Originally, when mentioning ’natural decomposition,’ many present were nodding, as they had long lived on the New Continent, so they were deeply impressed by the continent’s flourishing ecological power.

Such power is undoubtedly great.

But after Dou Ding’Er the Dragon-man spoke, they were shocked.

A Terror Tyrannosaurus over forty meters long—how terrifying would its flesh be? How much Chaos Magic Power would it carry?

If this corpse falls on the New Continent, won’t it trigger an ecological mutation?

”I’m concerned about this as well, so I’ve brought my solution.”

Facing this problem, Lann seemed prepared. He extended his hand to the side, drawing everyone’s attention to the Female Warlock standing beside him.

Tishaya.

As arguably ’the strongest Female Warlock among humans,’ she not only had powerful magic but, importantly, was also a highly accomplished researcher.

Not merely a destructive magic cannon.

Lann invited her to this world to handle the Chaos Magic Power on the Terror Tyrannosaurus and prevent its contamination and spread within the New Continent’s ecological power.

At this time, two Master Blacksmiths from two worlds sat on the periphery, attending awkwardly.

Yet Tishaya, following Lann, had entered the heart of the meeting.

Compared to the Old Demon Hunter, who had little meeting experience, Tishaya undoubtedly handled it much more smoothly.

She stood composed but unpretentious under everyone’s gaze.

Feeling even more at ease compared to attending meetings at the Talent and Skill Association.

Because the Investigation Team’s members looked at her with more curiosity and admiration rather than malice and scrutiny hidden behind a facade of goodwill.

Curious that she, like Lann, came from another world and seemingly could travel freely to some extent.

Admiring the magical beauty preserved by the Female Warlock’s magic.

In previous meetings with senior Warlocks, no one knew who funded several laboratories behind the Grand Mage or what benefits and powers were promised, determining whom they spoke for or worked for.

Or candidly, what kind of organization the Grand Mage was running and his stance.

Thought-blocking magic and mind-probing magic intertwined, nearly becoming an unwritten rule at Warlocks’ meetings.

Therefore, in the Investigation Team’s meeting, Tishaya was courteous yet not as veiled as before.

She had been only partially aware of Lann’s invitation at first, now understanding the rationale.

After all, the complexity of a world is too vast; it is better to let her see firsthand and evaluate from her own professional perspective.

Thus, Tishaya understood why Lann asked her specifically if she had time and not Margaret.

Margaret’s talent and achievements in spellcasting are certainly high, but compared to her teacher, she is still inexperienced in academic research and control of Chaos Magic Power.

”Good evening, everyone.”

The Female Warlock, organizing her thoughts, gracefully greeted those around her with courteous bow.

”I am Tishaya de Veris, the former headmistress of the Airetusa Magic Academy.”
