Bear School Astartes

A sound like thunderous chanting came from the distant hill.

Tishaya’s voice, resonating with Chaos Magic Power, seemed infused with some ritualistic element, becoming distorted and extraordinarily grand!

Meanwhile, Lann barely needed to activate ”Spiritual Vision,” nor did he have to worry about the Roaring Bear Head Necklace on his neck that seemed to leap out.

His skin and hair could feel a surge of high-concentration Chaos Magic Power sweeping through as the spell was cast.

The dangerous and deformed nature of Chaos Magic Power instinctively repelled people.

At the same time, the Terror Tyrannosaurus, already disoriented after a series of blows from the green dragon’s mouth, seemed to have many muscles refusing to cooperate, causing its massive and sinister posture to jerk intermittently.

”What is happening, meow?!”

Just as Rong Buqiu stashed away the two teeth he had dug out from the Terror Tyrannosaurus into his space expansion bag, he hurriedly ran on all fours to Lann’s side.

”Tishaya is breaking the curse!” Lann slightly shook on the back of the Terror Tyrannosaurus due to its irregular movement, ”And her way is too crude!”

No time for further explanation.

Lann hugged Rong Buqiu and jumped down from under the Terror Tyrannosaurus.

In mid-air, the bluish-white lightning blasted them on the back, allowing them to land smoothly from over ten meters in the air.

On top of the hill, Tishaya’s eyes and hands emitted light.

An elegantly crafted Elf Necklace hung suspended between her hands.

This was a gift from Francesca Fendapei, the Pure-blood Elf Grandmaster, known as ”Valley Daisies,” given to Airetusa long ago.

At the time, elves were already waning on the continental scene, yet their magic techniques were still highly commendable.

This gift symbolized their goodwill toward Airetusa.

Attached to it was magic that, although profound and powerful, wasn’t particularly versatile or practical.

It was an extremely effective Decurse Technique.

Just as Tishaya said, female warlocks lacked the keen observational skills of demon hunters.

Nor did they have the patience or time to play ’detective,’ piecing together essential elements of the curse to trace and then unravel it.

She simply wanted to forcefully break it!

With Airetusa’s centuries of accumulated goodwill, resources, and technology, she aimed to smash the curse without worrying about the creatures entangled in it. Who could object?

Though in doing so, the effort might be disproportionate to the results, as there’s no precise investigation pointing to the curse’s key elements.

Even a Great Mage of Tishaya’s caliber might be temporarily weakened due to high energy consumption.

Nonetheless, the task was accomplished regardless.

The chanting in ancient language grew increasingly fervent, and the light on the suspended necklace got brighter.

In the mountain forests of the Ponta River Valley, the Fog Demons continued to kill countless animals, channeling nutrients to the Terror Tyrannosaurus.

Their bodies, formed by dense white fog, began to dissipate uncontrollably, losing their distinct shapes.

As they dissolved into masses of white mist, their infuriating sneers finally ceased, replaced by true agony and panic-driven cries.

The light from the Elf Necklace, fueled by Chaos Magic Power, nearly rivaled the moon in brightness.

When the luminescence and magic reached their zenith, the light centered on the Elf Necklace abruptly exploded outward.

Like a burst water balloon, it emanated from Tishaya’s hands.

Then transformed into a rapidly expanding wave of light, sweeping along the contour of the Mahakan Mountains, radiating from the small hill where the female warlock stood.

The light wave washed over shaded mountains and forests, scattering the Fog Demons pursued by Ember Knights, delaying their regeneration with ”Oil of Curse,” until they disintegrated into genuine white mist.

And they never reformed.

In Lann’s ”Spiritual Vision,” lines connecting directly to the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s gut were collapsing swiftly, soon vanishing entirely.

Of course, the cost of forcibly breaking a curse without targeting it meant that, even for a mage of Tishaya’s stature, she couldn’t maintain her usual composed and dignified demeanor now.

With the Elf Necklace in her grasp, her once upright posture bent due to panting and fatigue, both hands braced on her knees just to stand steadily.

Triss and Margaret quickly supported her.

Meanwhile, the offshore typhoon that had lingered in the inland mountains began to subside.

The curse vanished, and the stubborn white mist wouldn’t regenerate again.

The two female warlocks allowed themselves a breath of relief.

And at the main battlefield’s site.

Lann and his companions were astonished to find that the green dragon, earlier clamped in the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s jaw, mostly shattered in the neck shaking and biting, had transformed into human shape!

”Sachia?!”

The once valiant female warrior lay where the green dragon had been released from the jaws of the Terror Tyrannosaurus.

She stood up as if waking from a dream, painfully clutching her left hand and shoulder, while looking up in shock and awe at the enormous, oppressive dark green beast from a human’s perspective.

Lann let out a surprised shout at first, but then he didn’t have much reaction afterwards.

Now, there’s a half-spirit Terror Tyrannosaurus transformed by a curse right before their eyes.

A true dragon capable of transforming into a human form doesn’t seem too hard to accept.

However, the injuries Sachia sustained in her dragon form were severe enough to threaten her life. Yet, upon transforming back into a human, she could stand up, though her clutched left shoulder and hand seemed immobile.

Those were the spots bitten hardest by the Terror Tyrannosaurus during her dragon form.

In this light, injuries sustained in one form do affect the other form, but the extent of the connection doesn’t seem too large?

”Rushing in alone to assist is unwise, Lady Green Dragon.”

Before Sachia could react to the shock of observing the Terror Tyrannosaurus from a human’s perspective, she was snatched away and placed on the back of the Qilin.

Lann did not look at her, only curling his lip.

”Moreover, what were you thinking to engage it in close combat? Can’t you see those muscles? The muscle from its rear shoulder alone could crush you!”

”I was indeed reckless. I thought I could help, but didn’t expect...”

Sachia sat behind Lann, using her still usable right hand to clumsily grab his belt, her tone filled with self-blame and gloom.

”But how could there be such a powerful creature in the Mahakan Mountains? Is this also the work of the Squirrel Faction?”

”They don’t have such ability; they just wanted to use it. But I suppose they botched it up too, otherwise this Terror Tyrannosaurus should be appearing deeper in the River Valley’s floating ports or Haji Fortress, not here.”

Lann casually disclosed a bit more information to Sachia.

The Elu Cat, curious, peeked out from Lann’s shoulder to look at Sachia.

Its fluffy head tilting left and right, seemingly puzzled by how a dragon could turn into a human.

It offered a glass bottle towards Sachia, shaking it as if feeding.

”Can you drink the Demon Hunter’s potion, meow? You’ll recover quickly, but it’s poisonous! A dragon should be able to withstand it, meow?”

”Thank you, I feel much better.” Sachia thanked and took it, cautiously taking a sip. ”I am indeed more tolerant to toxins than ordinary people, but that’s about it.”

”Without the large physique from my dragon form, I still can’t endure these like a Demon Hunter.”

”Enough.” Suddenly, Lann interrupted the exchange out of curiosity between Rong Buqiu and Sachia. ”Qilin, Rong Buqiu, you take Sachia away.”

The Demon Hunter tugged at the Qilin’s mane to make it stop.

Behind them, the Terror Tyrannosaurus that initially moved haltingly due to magic, now regained its activity.

The curse of the Fog Demon was indeed lifted.

But they were merely providing nutrition to this Terror Tyrannosaurus.

Now with the inexplicable supply of nutrients cut off... this is the battle stance of a real Terror Tyrannosaurus.

The Terror Tyrannosaurus let out a fuzzy conscious ’huru’ sound from its throat, with its nose twitching and its thick neck stretching backward.

With a tearing sound! It ripped off a section of flesh that had been repeatedly battered and practically ’hanging’ on its back.

Next, without the slightest awareness, as if it wasn’t even part of its body, it gobbled up the flesh in a few bites.

Without the curse providing nutrition, this Terror Tyrannosaurus is now on a path of death.

Its metabolic speed reached an excessive high due to the prior battle, and it’s uncertain if the hundreds of kilograms of flesh now ingested can sustain it for half a minute before being fully digested.

And once food is insufficient while metabolism can’t decelerate, it will ’devour itself’.

Among the Terror Tyrannosaurus species, few live long, and few die from losing against other monsters.

The most common cause of death in their species is this... being starved to death by their own overly powerful and active bodies!

But although this Terror Tyrannosaurus has been forced by Lann, inadvertently prompting its body’s metabolism speed to reach this degree.

Lann cannot just neglect further measures simply because it’s dying.

A dying Terror Tyrannosaurus is indeed the most terrifying.

They will disregard everything truly to sate hunger, devouring any and all meat.

If the curse remained earlier, it allowed the Terror Tyrannosaurus to painstakingly devour all the life in the area via the Fog Demon, slowing its movement and destructive capabilities.

But now the curse disappeared, with this massive creature wanting to eat well, compared to the earlier state with the Fog Demon, the difference is colossal.

It will rampage, consuming and destroying every large target or grouped target along its path.

Once it’s done devouring a group target, scattering them in flight, instead of chasing, it will turn and rush towards another group target.

Compared to the curse, achieving ’slow and meticulous’ feeding, this brutal feeding is undoubtedly far more terrifying.

Yet on the other hand, without the curse providing constant nutrient support...

This gives Lann a chance, right here and now, to kill it!
