Bear School Astartes

”How many Fog Demons have you killed so far? Is there any anomaly in their state after death?”

Lann shifted a few steps, moving to the side of the nearby members of the Squirrel Faction, shouting loudly.

It looked like he wanted to confirm something.

But it wasn’t possible.

”What are you saying? What were you fighting just now?!”

The female elf leader of the Squirrel Faction couldn’t hear his voice at all, even though they were only a few meters apart.

And her shouting was also inaudible to Lann; it was only through lip reading and Mentos translating that he understood the content.

Lann gritted his back teeth in irritation.

The current battle environment was too harsh!

The process of exchanging information on the battlefield was absurdly hindered!

He was fighting a clearly unusual Terror Tyrannosaurus in the silent dense fog, and special Fog Demons would suddenly appear in the mist to interfere.

... This was downright disgusting!

And just then, suddenly a short-lived gap in the dense fog appeared in the distance, and the Demon Hunter’s eyes narrowed.

He had seen it several times before, this was the fog cavity blown open by the roar of the Terror Tyrannosaurus!

And after the roar, it was highly likely that...

Silently, a few clumps of viscous oil-like liquid suddenly flew through the dense fog.

The transparent liquid was difficult to distinguish in the milky white fog, and there was no wind-breaking or liquid ’splash’ sound.

But what ordinary people couldn’t see, Lann saw clearly.

He immediately extended his left hand, and the grab hook of the projector on it silently shot out in the direction of the Squirrel Faction.

The mechanical claw hooked onto the shoulder of the female elf, suddenly pulling her to fall sideways.

And in the next moment, a large clump of the scattered liquid flew straight over the spot where the female elf had just been, landing on the ground.

The rocky ground started bubbling and smoking violently, eroded by the acid to form a shallow pit.

The already tense members of the Squirrel Faction were even more frightened, their mouths agape.

But this was just a precursor to the real attack.

The acidic saliva of the Terror Tyrannosaurus was just a part of its evolved ’digestive method’ for swallowing food, never considered an attack!>

The absolute kill and attack of the Terror Tyrannosaurus always prioritized that demon-like great mouth!

Because it allows for killing and eating simultaneously! Eat right after killing!

The acidic saliva was just something flung out in the process!

And after pulling down the female elf with the projector’s hook, Lann’s eyes fixated on the depths of the dense fog.

At the same time, his whole body twisted dramatically, and the [Muddy Stream·Destruction] in his hand was swung horizontally like a hammer.

The pale red fighting spirit light flame silently flared up on his body and Greatsword.

And at that moment when speed and power reached their peak... a massive and terrifying head suddenly charged out from the dense fog!

The Terror Tyrannosaurus lunged to bite forwards! But Lann’s Greatsword [Horizontal Sweep Slash] swung right onto the side of its protruding face!

The sound still didn’t travel far in the white fog, but on the broad and heavy sword body of [Muddy Stream·Destruction], the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s struck left jaw.

The dense white fog suddenly shuddered! Blown open by sheer force to form a temporarily appearing cavity!

The Terror Tyrannosaurus’s jaw, with its brutally growing teeth, shattered teeth scattering all over, and a grim crack opening up.

The wound created by [Muddy Stream·Destruction] was incredibly conspicuous, first grinding the flesh then crushing and slicing through it.

The forward lunge and bite motion was deflected by external force, making it look like Lann had knocked a forty-plus meter gigantic creature to the side!

But the Demon Hunter himself felt no joy.

Because right when his [Horizontal Sweep Slash] hit and finished, a Fog Demon emerged from the dense fog, its face a bloody clown-like grin.

Its long, sharp claw snatched downwards, and Lann, whose balance had already been thrown off onto the sword’s body due to [Horizontal Sweep Slash], was on the verge of being grabbed and flipped off his feet by a mere Fog Demon.

But in the fleeting instant.

Lann planted the Greatsword, just finished and still held, onto the ground.

Using it as a temporary pivot, he wrapped the inside of one knee around the neck of the Fog Demon, fixing its neck and head.

The other leg bent at the knee, then slammed into the Fog Demon’s head with a knee strike!

His knee felt the tactile sensation of its skull shattering through the flesh.

Even while dealing with the suddenly appearing Fog Demon in the tight, urgent, frenzied battle rhythm with the Terror Tyrannosaurus, Lann still furrowed his brows, feeling a sense of frustration and restriction.

Before this, although he had heard that the monster before him would appear with a dense fog.

Yet he hadn’t thought these fogs would be so troublesome, so special.

The gigantic Terror Tyrannosaurus, slinged by one sword to the face and flung aside by its own force, disappeared into the mist again.

This was not due to it being cunning; the Terror Tyrannosaurus never had even considered such a thought.

Or rather, their pathological hunger didn’t allow their brains to make ’thinking’ such energy-consuming processes anymore.

It simply dashed too far forward and was then covered by the dense fog.

But while the fog had no impact on it, it affected others, making it seem cunning and sinister.

Without resolving the current battlefield environment, there’s simply no way to fight!

Lann has always liked to be well-prepared, and although this magic fog was unexpected, it ultimately wasn’t beyond one of his backup plans.

This is also why he hasn’t thought about retreating until now.

If the ’backup plan’ can catch up...

Lann thought in his heart, while glancing at the ground beside him.

Sure enough, the shattered broken tooth he had smashed down just now was now completely gone.

His inclination toward a certain suspicion deepened further.

And just as Lann was thinking...

The Demon Hunter looked down at his chest, at the Roaring Bear Head Pendant that was silently yet more fervently beating than before; this mismatch of action and sound made him slightly uncomfortable.

But at the same time, the corner of the Demon Hunter’s mouth curled up slightly.

Looks like...his ’backup plan’ has arrived!

The female elf who was dragged down by Lann only just anxiously got up five seconds ago.

In this perilous environment, lying on the ground with no means of counterattack was equivalent to being dead.

Sure enough, just as she glanced at the shallow pit corroded by acidic saliva behind their group, she realized that Lann had saved her. Immediately afterward, three more Fog Demons emerged from the dense fog around them.

Silently grinning with their naturally taunting, bloody mouths, they circled towards the Squirrel Faction members.

But just at this moment, inexplicably, everyone felt a sense of spatial dislocation.

Not because of anything else, but because the thick white fog that had always served as a reference in their view seemed to suddenly...shift backward several meters?

The once metal-tasting mist, which made breathing difficult, seemed to be suddenly infused with some refreshing natural air.

The Roaring Bear Head Pendant on Lann’s chest vibrated more and more intensely.

And within the white fog, the Demon Hunter chuckled softly: ”It seems...the wind is picking up.”

At first, there was a faint sound of wind.

But even this minimal sound, after being in the super absorbent white fog area for so long, felt like a thunderous explosion!

Aside from the sound of their bones rubbing, the flow of blood, and the beating of their hearts, their ears finally heard other sounds once again!

Then, in a brief moment, almost in the blink of an eye, the wind howled louder.

And within the entire white fog area, the once subtle trend of the dense mist moving became increasingly evident!

The white fog was dissipating at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Gradually, all the sounds of the once deathly still area re-emerged.

The intense sound of wind rustling the leaves, the rubbing of leaves against each other, the breathing of people several meters away, the footsteps, and...

”I see you!”

In the now thin and non-obstructive lingering fog, Lann, without turning his head, immediately had a spiral wind rise under his feet.

[Acceleration Technique]!

The timely technique propelled Lann’s body outward by over ten meters in an instant.

And in the next moment...

”Boom!!!”

Amidst the increasingly violent wind, a thunderous crash, like Mount Tai collapsing, overpowered all other noises!

With a body structure looking at least several hundred tons for a Terror Tyrannosaurus 40 meters long!

This massive creature leapt into the air over twenty meters high and then crashed down fiercely! The force was akin to a landslide for those not far off!

The rocky ground was instantly shattered!

Countless head-sized stones were easily shaken up over five meters high!

The sound of scale armor scraping the ground, the tension of muscles, and the noise of this living behemoth overcoming its own weight and immediately standing back up...

Without the obstruction of the white fog, the terrifying monster’s chaotic and violent presence was finally unleashed without diminution!

”Roar!!!”

The Terror Tyrannosaurus that stood up after its leaping crash, raised its thick and long neck, finally letting out the first roar audible to people!

From its roaring mouth as the center, the normal air cleared of white fog was forcefully shook out into visible air waves by its roar!

The Squirrel Faction members instinctively covered their ears and crouched down simultaneous.

Yet blood was still left in the ears of the Elves. The Half-Elf, with a lighter weight, was even directly knocked down by the sound waves!

Only the relatively sturdy Dwarves barely withstood it.

But...this was just an ordinary roar of the Terror Tyrannosaurus venting its emotions!

With the fog blown away, this seemed to greatly weaken the hunting means of ordinary creatures.

However, for the Terror Tyrannosaurus in front of them...it appeared entirely unaffected, even more excited and violent!

And Lann, who had long escaped the fog’s influence and anticipated the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s movements, had entirely weathered this wave of roars.

Relaxing from the [Iron Hill Lean] stance, the Demon Hunter’s eyes swept the distant peak.

There, the hands of two Female Warlocks glowed with the light of Chaos Magic Power.

And behind them, there was a portal that had not yet closed.
