Bear School Astartes

The black and white Elu cat was wearing the casual attire issued to them by the Investigation Team.

This kind of small inflatable boat is also standard equipment.

Elu cats following hunters are bound to encounter water, but while hunters can wade through water chest-deep, Elu cats are too short. For them, it’s practically swimming.

Thus, the portable inflatable boats that fit only one Elu cat were created.

When hunters wade through water, the Elu cat would row directly in a boat.

It already looked very hot, but it still used a small paddle to diligently row the small inflatable boat, seemingly trying to take advantage of the water current.

Rowing in this water that’s hot enough to kill biting fish is similar to being steamed.

”Hey! Where are you going? It’s too dangerous, meow!”

Rong Buqiu stood jumping and waving his hands on a rock at the water’s edge, shouting at the black and white Elu cat that hadn’t rowed over yet.

The black and white Elu cat was frantically trying to control the direction of the small inflatable boat while using the paddle to move aside the fish corpses blocking its path.

This fish’s skin is not only tough, but their fins are sharp, like knives.

Yet after Rong Buqiu shouted, the black and white Elu cat looked up from the small inflatable boat, instantly leaping joyfully! And rowed closer to this side.

”Oh, ho.” Belengar wiped the sweat from his forehead, speaking expressionlessly, ”Well, it seems we’ve indeed arrived during some event.”

The small inflatable boat wobbled as it came closer, and Lann and Rong Buqiu quickly reached out, grabbing the paddle offered by the black and white Elu cat and pulled it steadily to the shore.

Before the two could speak, the black and white Elu cat let out a long sigh.

”Are you hunters who happened to be nearby, meow? That’s great! There’s a big problem at our base in the valley, meow!”

”Our situation is a bit complicated, but it’s fine for you to think that way.”

Lann said, showing the small Shield Emblem that hung by his belt side, engraved with the emblem of the Fifth Period Team: an abstract white wind.

”Meow?” The black and white Elu cat obediently sat on the ground, tilting its head, ”I think I’ve heard of this, meow...”

”It’s a specially recruited hunter, meow!” Rong Buqiu also sat down at this moment, meowing as he introduced, ”A title issued by the Commander-in-Chief!”

”Ah! I remember now, meow!” The black and white Elu cat suddenly realized, ”It’s that powerful hunter from another world, meow!”

There really aren’t many members in the New Continent Expedition Team, even counting the Elu cats. Although not everyone has met Lann, the matter of the Fifth Period Team’s special recruited hunter, at least everyone has heard of it.

At this moment, Tishaya and Belengar both looked at Lann with curious gazes.

In another world, hearing creatures from another world discuss stories of someone they know... Such a wondrous situation, probably few could experience in hundreds of years.

”Great! Can I ask you for help now, meow?”

The black and white Elu cat asked with a sigh of relief.

”That’s no problem.” Lann nodded, ”But in such heat... what’s the situation?”

”It’s Theo Discator!” The black and white Elu cat mentioned a name with lingering fear, ”A Flame King Dragon suddenly descended upon our base built in the valley, meow!”

”It caused the surrounding temperature to skyrocket! After just half a day, it’s already like this, meow!”

As it spoke, the black and white Elu cat anxiously turned its head, pointing out the corpses of various fish floating downstream, and those visibly getting scorched vegetation at the water’s edge.

Theo Discator is the scientific name for this kind of Ancient Dragon.

Actually, the true scientific name of its species should only be Discator; the preceding ’Theo’ indicates it’s a male.

The scientific name for females is prefixed with ’Nana’. Nana Discator.

The common name for this Ancient Dragon species is the ”Sun Flame Dragon”, with males called the Flame King Dragon and females known as the Flame Princess Dragon.

This species has distinct names for each sex because Sun Flame Dragons exhibit very pronounced differences post sexual differentiation.

Male Flame King Dragons are fiery red all over, while female Flame Princess Dragons have dazzling fiery blue.

While their skeletal structures are generally similar, their crown horns differ.

These are striking colors in the natural world, but this conspicuous and flamboyant coloring is precisely the proof of their fearlessness, standing at the top of the ecological chain as Ancient Dragons.

An Ancient Dragon suddenly invading the Investigation Team base... This is undoubtedly a sudden emergency!

In an instant, once Lann and Rong Buqiu deciphered the situation, they simultaneously tensed up, entering combat mode.

”Was there a report to the Star Base?”

Lann crouched down, patting the black and white Elu cat’s shoulder, and asked solemnly.

”The report is being sent over, meow! But the journey is too long!”

The black and white Elu cat sighed.

”So we’ve all come out, meow, evacuating people while looking for powerful hunters in the vicinity! Meeting you seems to be my best luck, meow!”

The New Continent is too large, while the number of members in the New Continent Investigation Team is relatively small.

The major areas currently explored and defined by the New Continent Expedition Team each cover at least tens of thousands of square kilometers.

Each large area is equivalent to the size of a province.

Powerful monsters divide territories and reproduce in these vast regions.

Although the investigation team has tamed winged dragons as long-distance transportation, the Flame King Dragon has only just intruded for half a day.

The message sent from the Great Ant Mound Wasteland to Star Base definitely hasn’t arrived yet.

”Is the base still at the original upstream location?”

Lann confirmed with the black-and-white Elu Cat whether the base arrangements set up back then to counter the Molten Mountain Dragon had changed at all during this time.

He stood up and walked toward the upstream.

”How is the evacuation going?”

Rong Buqiu helped the black-and-white Elu Cat pack up its little inflatable boat, and everyone quickly followed Lann.

”It’s... it’s okay, meow!” The black-and-white Elu Cat, on all fours, trotted a few steps, following Lann and saying breathlessly.

”That Flame King Dragon is just a normal kind of Ancient Dragon. Even if someone passes right in front of it, as long as they don’t attack it first, it won’t even give a second glance, meow.”

”But even if it doesn’t mean to harm, its mere presence nearby raises the temperature...”

Each Ancient Dragon has a distinct personality, but they are generally arrogant.

Humans, who appear very weak from the outside, are likely considered by them as trivial, similar to the Waving Eels on the Land Coral Plateau, completely ignorable.

But ignoring doesn’t mean they won’t cause harm.

Aside from Extinct Dragon, which specializes in physical enhancement, almost all Ancient Dragons possess the ability to transform, suppress, or distort the surrounding environment.

Just like the current Flame King Dragon.

It’s only been here for half a day, and the once vibrant stream is about to become fish soup!

The situation is urgent, and Lann immediately advanced toward the base direction.

”Do you need to stay here?” Lann asked Belengar and Tishaya as he rushed along. ”The closer you get to the Flame King Dragon, the harsher the environment. Standing still could even burn you.”

Belengar wiped his sweat, his mouth twitching.

”Don’t say nonsense. Standing still could burn someone alive... The monsters in this world are terrifying, and I don’t want to stay in the wild unfamiliar with everything!”

”If it’s just the heat, it’s manageable.” Tishaya calmly said, even though her meticulously groomed hair was sticking slightly to her sweaty forehead.

”I still have Magic Power for a few more spells. Helping the investigation team here would benefit future negotiations, and it’s necessary here.”

Tishaya tucked the handkerchief she was using to wipe her sweat into her chest’s cleavage, her ample bosom pressed together, quickly getting sweaty in the gaps.

Lann chuckled amid the chaos, and Rong Buqiu also covered its mouth, chuckling softly.

The black-and-white Elu Cat widened its watery eyes, looking at the group of strangers without any sense of caution.

”Even if you don’t help here, Tishaya, the investigation team will still communicate well with you,” the young Demon Hunter said confidently.

”Once you meet them, you’ll understand. Just like when I first came here. Don’t worry!”

Following the stream upstream, they quickly left the desert and gobi terrain, entering the towering rocky mountains.

This is the crevice in the rocky canyon where the Molten Mountain Dragon once crashed.

The giant, towering, sharp rocks stacked like a thousand swords reaching skyward.

In the backdrop of a sandy sky, there was a grand and perilous aura.

But now, even the air carried a heat wave that felt like it could burn the respiratory tract. Though Tishaya and Belengar were seeing the grandeur of the New Continent for the first time, they were too tired and hot to appreciate it.

Occasionally, scales with a red glow would fall in the air, making the environment even more scorching.

On the way, Lann reconfirmed the current situation of the base with the black-and-white Elu Cat.

After the Molten Mountain Dragon’s counter-attack mission ended, the base’s operation task was deemed complete.

However, the Commander-in-Chief decided to use this already-built base as a transit station for supplies sent deeper into the New Continent.

Resources produced in the Ancient Tree Forest Region’s Star Base would be stored here and supplied to the team members exploring the deeper Land Coral Plateau and Valley of Miasma areas.

The second period team leader, who was in charge of equipment manufacturing, craftsmen, and forging, also got involved.

He discovered a circular, semi-closed space formed by mountain walls in this valley.

Through transformation, it was used as the second arena.

The first arena was established in the back mountain area of Star Base.

Monsters anesthetized and captured by Hunters from outside could be released here for field-limited battles for the Hunters.
