Bear School Astartes

Amidst the fierce wind, Lincoln confirmed that he had heard and noted down this information clearly, and immediately raced towards the distant hill where the female warlock was located.

In this world, technology that allows real-time communication is exceedingly rare.

What could be easily used by ordinary people is only a small fraction of that.

During the battle of Sodden Mountain, the prototype of the Niflgaardian army’s communication system, inspired by the genius of Meno Kuhorn, relied on having many warlocks stationed beside commanders at every level.

It was only through the telepathic abilities of the warlocks that it ultimately took effect.

The conical crystal in Lann’s hand was already a valuable high-level magical artifact from Airetusa.

However, at first, in his hands, it could only passively receive information sent by warlocks, and its range was very limited.

For example, it was only when he arrived in the Vizima territory that Triss could use this conical crystal to contact him.

This always left Margaret feeling subtly displeased, yet she couldn’t help but pay attention whenever she saw the thing.

But as he began traversing between celestial spheres, this conical crystal passed through the hands of the Lady of the Lake.

And at the last time, during the campaign against the Ancient Deer-headed Spirit on the New Continent, it sent the ecological power gathered by the Ancient Deer-headed Spirit across worlds to the hands of the Tree Spirit Queen Aisne in the Brook Leon Great Forest.

This conical crystal, used for communication and contact, had already undergone a noticeable positive change.

If Margaret continues her research based on the current foundation, absorbing the knowledge from the Elf Beacon.

Perhaps in the future, it could achieve cross-world communication. It might even serve as a coordinate for cross-world teleportation.

Of course, judging by Lann’s magic power reserves, he probably can’t send messages and can only wait for the other side to send them.

But even so, this conical crystal is currently an irreplaceably powerful magical item.

Normally, communication between ordinary people, or between ordinary people and warlocks, still relies on messengers.

Even when warlocks conduct long-distance communication with each other, it’s possible that due to unstable magic power fluctuations or flaws in the Thousand-Mile Telescope, words might be lost, or half a sentence might be missing during transmission.

Therefore, in conveying crucial information over long distances, even warlocks would prudently write letters and find reliable messengers.

The hill where the female warlocks were stationed was about a kilometer from the main battlefield, but Lincoln had to traverse this kilometer of mountainous terrain to deliver the message to the female warlocks engaged in their spellcasting.

”Are you saying it’s a curse? The curse changed that monster’s form of life?”

Margaret loudly questioned Lincoln, who had run halfway up the hill only to be hoisted up by her levitation spell.

”Not just that monster! The Fog Demons too!” Lincoln shouted against the wind, striving to keep his words precise and clear as he removed his helmet. ”The Fog Demons have also become cursed beings!”

”Those Fog Demons cannot be killed! Even using [Oil of Curse] can only delay their reappearance!”

”The Lord said both sides were entangled by the curse! There should be a deeper connection, but he hasn’t observed it yet.”

”Ladies, if you have methods to deal with the curse, think quickly about what to do!”

After loudly conveying the information Lann instructed, Lincoln put his helmet back on.

He insisted that the female warlocks send him back to the hillside so he could ride his battle horse back to the battlefield.

”There are only ten of us, but we’ll never let those Fog Demons have any more chances! Any chance to interfere with the Lord’s battle!”

Lincoln declared, so Margaret could only nod heavily and levitate him back down.

Watching the young knight depart, the female warlocks furrowed their brows together.

In the distance, on the ceaselessly windy mountain range, a roaring beast battled fiercely with the silver-haired demon hunter.

”A curse...” Tishaya, usually calm and composed, couldn’t help but raise her voice in the high winds, saying, ”This is the most troublesome situation.”

”Both troublesome and dangerous,” Margaret added with a sullen face, ”Who knows what power a curse on such a creature will twist it into giving it? Just a ’semi-spirit body’?”

The current head of Airetusa shook her head wordlessly, clearly not thinking so.

”Are we going to where it first appeared?” Triss asked beside her while her magic power surged.

Her red hair was also about to be blown apart by the fierce wind.

”During the time, I heard him talking about how demon hunters deal with curses.”

Although the situation was urgent, Margaret couldn’t help but glance askance at Triss upon hearing this.

”Can’t you just say you were ’making love’? As if it’s something unspeakable.”

”Alright!”

Tishaya said firmly, suppressing the subtle tension between the two female warlocks with her absolute authority.

There wasn’t time for their usual bickering or exchanging barbs at this moment.

Under the massive moon, the monstrous beast was savagely crushing everything around it.

Its roar could trigger landslides; its body could crush boulders!

This was originally a rugged and not particularly spacious mountain slope. But when the Terror Tyrannosaurus began its battle with Lann here.

Its more than forty-meter-long body was like an unstoppable steamroller, completely destroying the surrounding terrain.

That violent and frenzied power made even the mountains of the Mahakan Mountains seem fragile before it.

The Warlocks have studied curses, especially an experienced Warlock like Tishaya.

But the direction of Warlocks’ research is different from that of the Demon Hunters.

Demon Hunters are experts at solving problems; they study how to lift curses. But Warlocks are scholars, who more often study the underlying logic and source of power of curses.

Tishaya, after interacting with Lann, also learned about the work methods of Demon Hunters.

They go to the site of the curse, find traces, reconstruct the process, and finally attempt to lift it based on occult theories.

That’s generally how it goes.

But they...

”There’s no time to run to the middle of the Mahakan Mountains now, and we don’t even know exactly where it was brought over by the celestial convergence.”

Tishaya decisively drew a conclusion, showing the determination and judgment of a figurehead for the female Warlock community for hundreds of years.

”Remember, Rita, Triss. We are Warlocks; we don’t use the Demon Hunters’ methods, but we have our own style.”

The red-haired female Warlock was still a bit confused, but the blonde female Warlock seemed to finally understand... even with a little excitement.

”Tishaya! Are you saying...”

In the current situation, this current dean was still a student in front of the former dean.

”Does the curse have to be ’lifted’?” Tishaya spoke calmly yet dangerously, ”We don’t have the observation and work experience of the Demon Hunters, but we have magic and magic power.”

”We can ’smash’ it open with force!”

”I’m going back to Airetusa to get some things.”

Tishaya raised one of the hands originally folded in front of her abdomen and waved it gently.

Immediately, a portal opened behind her.

And the fact that she could open a long-distance portal with just a wave of her hand was something Triss and Margaret were completely accustomed to at this point.

Meanwhile, as Tishaya received crucial information and set off to Airetusa to get certain items, on the distant central battlefield...

Lann felt it - the limit continuously approached by the Terror Tyrannosaurus... was breached!

”...”

In just a moment, the Terror Tyrannosaurus, which had been relentlessly attacking as if it wouldn’t stop until it captured something, suddenly halted its massive body.

One second it was a wild and fierce predator, and the next, it turned into a statue.

Lann, who was intently watching the Terror Tyrannosaurus, felt his pupils contract in that moment! The sense of crisis in his mind almost turned into an alarm!

Not only did the Terror Tyrannosaurus freeze for a moment, but even the Fog Demons, scattered around and being constantly massacred by the Ember Knights, also froze for a moment.

And after a moment...

As if wanting to stretch all its muscles, the Terro Tyrannosaurus tried with all its might to raise its elongated body higher, with its two feet propping against the ground, its thick neck topped with a heavy head, roaring with unprecedented explosiveness!

”Roar!!!”

Its roar was so mighty that it momentarily scattered the endless salty sea breeze!

The Fog Demons also let out loud cries in response, and none of them moved even when the Ember Knights took this moment to kill more than a dozen of them.

Following that, the Terror Tyrannosaurus, which was originally like a muscle-bound brute, with its already robust and massive muscle groups, now seemed like it had just finished a warm-up, swelling with abnormal blood inflow!

The entire muscle group on its rear shoulders, the thick neck muscle group, and the chest muscle group.

The three muscle groups, while swelling, emitted a creaking sound, as if trying to burst through the thick dark green skin of the Terror Tyrannosaurus!

Even the relatively smaller neck muscle group at this point had a thickness taller than the head of the Terror Tyrannosaurus!

From the front, it looked like two enormous mountain-like muscle mounds had suddenly appeared on its back!

The swelling muscles were releasing heat.

This heat made the skin of the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s three muscle groups look like red-hot charcoal, glowing with heat, even shining, with the searing light emanating from deep within the skin!

The heat turned into dense white smoke in the salty sea breeze, as the muscle-swelling heat on the Terror Tyrannosaurus’s back continuously released white smoke, which was then carried away by the wind.

From a distance, it looked like it was carrying two burning charcoal mountains on its back!

Terror Tyrannosaurus——[Muscle Swelling State]!

This state is nothing surprising; once the Terror Tyrannosaurus falls into a frenzied emotional state of fierce combat, its already terrifying metabolic rate will uncontrollably surge.

Thus turning into what it is now.

But what worried Lann was... the eyes of the Terror Tyrannosaurus, which could still fiercely meet his gaze in battle earlier, had now completely descended into madness and lost focus.

And the Fog Demons that were echoing its cries, at this moment, all suddenly disappeared from their original place.
