Chapter 858: Chapter 841: Hormonal Response

The animation created by Mentos is very simplistic, likely made this way by the bio-intelligent brain to match the knowledge level of the Anka Cross users.

When Lann retracted the handprint that flickered with the cold white magical glow, Cassandra was still eagerly glancing to the left.

In the human brain, there are many memory areas on the left side and many creative areas on the right side.

Thus, when recalling, most people’s eyes unconsciously glance to the left. When lying or imagining, the eyes unconsciously drift to the right.

Cassandra was recalling the animation and seemed to be enjoying it.

With a ”snap,” Lann extended his hand in front of Cassandra and snapped his fingers.

”Stop daydreaming, concentrate, okay?”

Meanwhile, the Demon Hunter was also complaining about his bio-intelligent brain in his head.

It’s fine that the surgical animation is easy to understand, but who told you to make it entertaining?

But Mentos had something to say as well.

”I created the animation according to preschool standards. If you have any opinions on the production philosophy, please write to the Human Union Ministry of Education.”

Write to them my foot!

Lann firmly pushed Mentos back into the depths of his mind.

Fortunately, although Mentos made the animation a little more entertaining, Lann was still confident in its accuracy.

”Try picking up the Anka Cross first.”

Lann nodded at Cassandra, signaling her to first use this Ishu Divine Artifact to take a look.

Immediately, Cassandra held the Anka Cross in one hand and raised the other to point vaguely at Lann’s head.

Her eyes, as before, emitted a golden light.

Her eyes seemed divine, and even her voice became ethereal because of it.

”Yes, I can see... your brain.”

Cassandra took two steps towards Lann, and her previously vague pointing finger tapped on the Demon Hunter’s forehead, slightly to the right.

”Do you want to place that thing here?”

With Cassandra’s light tap, Lann raised an eyebrow in surprise.

A very accurate surgical targeting.

Relying solely on Mentos’s educational short films couldn’t achieve this at all... The Anka Cross, this Ishu Divine Artifact, indeed possesses extremely high levels of automatic intelligence.

Lann nodded slightly.

”I see it clearly, and all the connection points match... I’ll start now.”

Taking a deep breath, even in a rational state after activating the Anka Cross, Cassandra couldn’t help but take a deep breath at the thought of implanting something in her lover’s brain.

The Anka Cross began to emit ribbon-like golden light, wrapping around Cassandra’s hand, then looped over her shoulder and wound around her other hand.

Cassandra, with her hand wrapped in golden light, picked up the organ preservation jar and then gently touched Lann’s forehead with it.

The golden light on the ribbon began to scatter and disperse.

It then transformed from a structured shape into a large, hazy cloud of light, enveloping the Demon Hunter’s head and face.

The light fog appeared for less than three seconds before disappearing without a trace.

Meanwhile, after the light fog dissipated, the leaf-shaped organ that floated in the preservation jar in Cassandra’s hand also vanished.

Cassandra, almost immediately confirming that the jar in her hand was empty, uncontrollably leaned on her knees and took deep breaths.

The Anka Cross took a significant toll on her stamina.

But even so, she kept her eyes on Lann’s condition.

The Demon Hunter felt rather peculiar at this moment.

After all, his right side of the brain had suddenly gained an entire new organ.

The brain has no pain nerves, but he could certainly feel something new in there.

”No abnormalities at the connection point, fluid circulation without obstruction, the Holy Chant Gland starts receiving blood supply from the brain... Gland engorgement is complete, and functional activity is steadily increasing...”

Mentos methodically checked Lann’s physical condition and presented the data and reports for the main body’s analysis.

Once Lann’s body and the new organ had no obstructions in fluid circulation, it meant that the Holy Chant Gland had entered his body’s biological cycle.

The gland’s functions began to activate, absorbing energy and substances from the blood, restructuring them in the secretion gland, and releasing specific hormones.

This hormone will further enhance the overall body capabilities of the Interstellar Warrior, with the most notable improvements in bones and muscles.

The average naked height of Primaris Space Marines exceeds three meters.

However, Lann wasn’t keen on increasing his height any further, as his combat and living environment greatly differed from the human empire of the Interstellar Era.

This specialized physique of the Interstellar Warrior would cause many inconveniences in his current life, such as... certain unspeakable moments.

Still, a surgical procedure is a surgical procedure; Lann didn’t think he could challenge the wisdom of the Emperor and Belisarius Kao.

Thus, he could only proceed step by step.

The subsequent Primaris surgeries, the Tendon Coil and the Belisarius Furnace, these two high-load enhancement organs, could only be endured by an Interstellar Warrior’s body after the Holy Chant Gland had achieved extensive bodily enhancement.

And now, the high-efficiency hormones in the Holy Chant Gland had begun to secrete.

”Oof!”

Lann frowned, his hand twitching unnaturally, suddenly clenching.

With a ’crack,’ the edge of the bed broke into flying wood chips under his grip!

This wasn’t a spasm caused by pain, but more like muscle-generated uncontrollable reflexes, similar to a cramp.

Except cramps result from a lack of calcium ions in the human body, causing insufficient muscle control hormone secretion.

Now, Lann’s muscles were being stimulated to become much stronger by the hormones from the Holy Chant Gland.

Simultaneously, he began to feel a sense of drowsiness enveloping his consciousness.

The Holy Chant Gland compressed his original brain space, and the brain was now trying to adapt through coma and sleep.

”The surgery was a success, no need... no need to worry.”

After murmuring these words with a quiet smile, Lann finally couldn’t resist his brain’s spontaneous fainting, collapsing unconsciously towards the floor.

In the last moment, Cassandra hurriedly stepped forward, using both hands to catch Lann’s upper body as it fell to the floor.

The powerful Ishu Divine Artifact, the Anka Cross, fell with a jingle onto the wooden floor, but Cassandra didn’t spare it a glance.

With actions completely different from her usual tough image, she gently placed Lann’s body back on the bed, making him comfortable.

After doing all this, she started panting even more heavily, having already reached her physical limits from using the Divine Artifact.

However, she smiled happily.

”Still remembered to explain things to me in the end...”

This feeling of being worried about by someone else is the reason Cassandra is attached to the idea of ’family.’
