730: Chapter 143: Loser’s Alliance 730: Chapter 143: Loser’s Alliance Yamata no Orochi never expected that as a master of soul manipulation, he would fall into Arex’s trap.

Not only did his plan to devour the world’s power fail, but he also suffered severe damage…

The damage of heavenly thunder to the soul is truly immeasurable.

Now Yamata no Orochi desperately needed to devour something to restore himself, but around the Yan Wuyue World, especially near Zaodao Village, everything alive had been absorbed by the Sakura Tree’s roots…

As the dignified ‘Serpent of Calamity’, he couldn’t possibly lower himself to prey on underground earthworms or the caterpillars on the tree trunk, could he?

Fortunately, the one carrying a sliver of an ancient emperor’s soul happened to appear near his escape route!

How could heaven’s gift be let slip away?

Who would have thought the heavens wouldn’t abandon me, Yamata no Orochi!

However, Yamata no Orochi also feared that Mo Xiaofei’s appearance was still an illusion brought by Arex.

So he kept lurking, repeatedly confirming whether Mo Xiaofei was real, and the boy next to him with the Yin Greedy Wolf seal was also an exquisite delicacy…

Better safe than sorry!

Originally, Yamata no Orochi planned to observe for a while longer, but the sudden appearance of the Greedy Wolf Will disrupted his plans…

Is this guy trying to snatch food from the jaws of a tiger?

Seeing the Greedy Wolf Will hovering around Zi Xing, Yamata no Orochi could hardly sit still!

The Greedy Wolf Will also had to be wary of this purple little snake.

It knew about the affairs of Xiang Liu’s family, but the sight of this injured Souliu bloodline somehow gave it a sense of danger…

An Xiang Liu without a body still being ferocious is quite bizarre indeed.

Thus, Yamata no Orochi, already in the losing group, and the Greedy Wolf Will found themselves eerily staring at each other in a small cave, pondering how to emerge victorious in a “losers’ resurrection match”.

“If we fight now, it’s hard to say who will win.

But one thing is certain, the last one standing will undoubtedly suffer irreparable damage.” Yamata no Orochi was the first to speak.

“Bloodline of the Xiang Liu, what do you want to say?” The Greedy Wolf Will didn’t relax its guard against this purple little snake at all.

“I devour this man, and the woman is yours,” Yamata no Orochi hissed, “Let’s not interfere with each other!”

“Agreed.” The Greedy Wolf Will agreed almost without thinking.

Though both belonged to the losers’ group, after the discussion, neither moved first, still glaring at each other—they didn’t take what they just agreed upon seriously at all.

Both of them were cunning millennia-old spirits and wouldn’t easily trust the other.

However, they also understood that the longer the delay, the more disadvantageous it would be for them.

This time it was the Greedy Wolf Will who spoke first: “Bloodline of the Xiang Liu, how about we make a soul oath?

Non-aggression, mutual assistance!”

A soul oath is something that even the Yamata no Orochi, claiming to manipulate souls with mastery, dared not easily promise…

But conversely, the solidity of such an oath surpasses even blood relations and marriages, essentially a relationship of mutual prosperity and loss.

Yamata no Orochi couldn’t help but think: Now that I’m at my weakest, the Greedy Wolf doesn’t truly know my strength or weakness, thus it doesn’t dare act rashly.

If the Greedy Wolf discovers this, I’ll be doomed.

Why not make the oath?

This Greedy Wolf is a powerful being; forming an alliance wouldn’t be a disgrace.

Moreover, under the constraint of the oath, even if it’s unwilling, it would have to help me restore my strength, and then I can sit back and reap the benefits—how delightful!

The Greedy Wolf Will couldn’t help but think: I intentionally severed my will from the Greedy Wolf’s power, and now it’s just my will exposed.

Although my aura hasn’t changed, I am essentially only a shell.

This trace of Xiang Liu’s blood feared the legend of the Greedy Wolf, so it didn’t dare act rashly.

If discovered, I’d surely become its prey, and my hard-earned freedom would become an illusion, which I don’t want.

If it desires to make this oath, Xiang Liu’s lineage isn’t too shabby, and an alliance can be accepted.

Furthermore, even if it learns my condition under the oath’s constraint, it has to even reconsider any ill intentions and might even have to help me regain the Greedy Wolf’s power, whereby I can merely enjoy the benefits—how splendid!

“Agreed.” Yamata no Orochi deliberated for a moment but pretended it was a difficult decision, responding with a displeased tone.

“Let’s begin then.” The Greedy Wolf Will also appeared to do so out of necessity.

Naturally, these two old spirits were not comparable to novices in the monster realm.

They knew the nature of a soul oath inside and out, each beginning to cast the oath, and thus could clearly see if the other was up to any tricks.

“I, of the Xiang Liu lineage, Yamata no…”

“I, the Greedy Wolf, Lian Zhen Star…”

When the radiance of the oath simultaneously glowed on the purple snake and the shadow, a slight smile emerged in their hearts.

“So, Brother Yamata, will you help me out…

What’s going on, you actually!”

“Elder Brother Lian Zhen, don’t you think you should…

You tricked me!”

They spoke almost simultaneously.

With the oath in effect, they could clearly perceive each other’s state in reality, and their hearts throbbed as if trampled by ten thousand wild boars defiled with cow manure—thus, the freshly bonded oathers, with a relationship deeper than blood kin, yet again glared at each other, no different than at the beginning.

Almost in an instant, Yamata no Orochi and the Greedy Wolf Will understood each other’s thoughts, inwardly filled with dark resentment, yet being deeply scheming beings, their emotions did not show.

Besides, now having taken the oath, they truly couldn’t attack each other.

“Elder Brother Lian Zhen, let’s each enjoy our own prey.” Yamata no Orochi thought for a while, no longer wary of the Greedy Wolf, and began dining—through a wisp of released soul aura during the oath’s merging, Yamata no Orochi confirmed this wasn’t Arex’s illusion.

“Good.” The Greedy Wolf Will agreed and once again approached Zi Xing.

At this time, the cave suddenly shook violently!

The earth cracked instantly, and thick tree roots emerged, engulfing Mo Xiaofei and Zi Xing and drawing them in!

Despite their ability to remain unfazed even if Mount Tai collapsed in front of them, Yamata no Orochi and the Greedy Wolf Will were dumbfounded—they felt trampled once more by those ten thousand cow-dung-tainted wild boars!

Confronting such roots in their current state was utterly unthinkable!

One touch, and even residue wouldn’t remain!

More than just untouchable, encountering them would necessitate a detour!

“Elder Brother Lian Zhen, take me with you, I can’t run!”

“Brother Yamata, I’m not in good shape either; why are you wrapping around my waist?”

…

…

Upon returning to the Yatsumi Palace, Izanami couldn’t help but feel a sense of security return.

The decayed body was now lying behind the curtain of the grand hall.

Now, she had already sensed the true change in the world’s authority.

A terrifying thing was being born within the Yan Wuyue World; it not only divided nearly half of the world’s power but also brazenly provoked her.

Above the grand hall of the Yatsumi Palace, cherry blossoms scattered, and in just a moment, petals had already carpeted the surroundings.

Among the sea of flowers, Miki, dressed in a white kimono but still in her transformed fox state, walked slowly.

Under the Heavenly Rock Pillar, the roots of the sakura tree were growing rapidly, encircling the pillar, and seemed about to reach the top of the Yatsumi Palace.

“You’ve already successfully divided half of Yan Wuyue, why not be satisfied and insist on a mutual destruction!” Izanami’s shrill voice sounded from behind the curtain.

“It’s not enough, without devouring you, Yan Wuyue isn’t truly mine!” Miki’s face was cold, “After all, this Yan Wuyue was just a false dream you wove for yourself.

You fantasized that Izanagi wouldn’t abandon you just because of your ugliness, and dreamed of changing it all.

Since that’s the case, come into my body, and I can give you the same beautiful dream, letting you never wake up!”

“I have an agreement with Arex, you can’t!” Izanami tore open the curtain, with her body overflowing with the viscous Waters of the Netherworld, decaying everything on the Yatsumi Palace.

“Then you should know, such verbal agreements have no real effect.”

Izanami’s originally ugly appearance became even more unbearable.

Indeed, such verbal agreements have no binding force, “Do you really think that with just half of the world’s power, you can deal with me?

Beyond these powers, as the supreme creator of Yan Wuyue, my divine power isn’t something you can contend with!”

“Is that so?

This reliance on the faith of the world’s population is indeed terrifying.

When the people of Yan Wuyue held you in awe, you did possess great divine power.

But not now…” Miki sneered, “Izanami, can you still draw upon the divine power of faith?

Under my world’s nightmare, they now worship me!”

“You!!”

A thunderbolt descended from the sky, striking down on the Yatsumi Palace.

The roof of the entire hall exploded instantly, and, under the power of the lightning, Izanami’s flesh churned, and a piercing scream echoed over the Yatsumi Palace.

“This is the innate divine skill of a mythical fox’s bloodline from ancient Central Divine Land, particularly effective against gods of incense faith like you.” Miki walked unrestrainedly to Izanami’s side, reaching for her heart.

Under the assault of the heavenly thunder, Izanami’s whole body went numb, her divine soul trembling, unable to tell north from south.

But she still instinctively sensed the approaching danger.

In this instant, Izanami made a crazy move—like an insane woman, driven to madness in desperation, “Even if I have to self-destruct this Yan Wuyue World, you will never devour me!”

Shockwaves…

Starting from the Yatsumi Palace, Yan Wuyue World began to produce intense tremors—this was the center of the Yan Wuyue World fragment, the origin of everything.

If space began to shatter from here, it would madly expand across the entire world!

Miki’s expression became graver, but not to the extent of giving up out of fear.

She heard her deep voice, “If you want to smash it, then I’ll piece it back together!”

The shattered space suddenly stopped, and strands of threads generated from the void began to “claw” at the fragments of the cracked space, strangely bonding the originally breaking apart areas back together!

And Izanami’s face became increasingly ugly…

…

…

“It’s like the mutual devouring among single-cell organisms.” Luo Qiu looked up at the sky of the Yan Wuyue World, with a look of boredom, “At the beginning of the world, before intelligent creatures were born, when only cells acted on instinct, they devoured and grew amidst each other…

Step by step, growing until they reached the point of awakening intelligence.

These gods truly are similar, the weak devouring and growing among the weak, middle-tier among middle-tier, strong among the strong, all following the path of gradual devouring and evolutionary growth.”

Listening to the boss’s words, Da Zhe felt as if there was something wrong with this reasoning, but thinking deeply, couldn’t point out what was wrong—he only felt a little awkward because the boss compared gods to single-cell organisms.

He just noted down this perspective, perhaps in the future he could understand it more deeply…

Having joined the club, a world far beyond the limits of his imagination was unveiling a fraction before him.

“Boss, isn’t she dead already, how else can we have her inspect?”

The place where Boss Luo finally stopped was indeed under the giant sakura tree.

But at this moment, the corpse of the young Mrs.

Witch had already gone cold.

Tree roots intertwined around her, lifted her up, transforming into a wooden tomb, supporting the young Mrs.

Witch’s body.

Luo Qiu said at this moment, “It’s not for her to inspect, but for another her.”

“Another…” Da Zhe was stunned, then, thinking thoughtfully, looked at the trembling Yan Wuyue World, “Miki?”

The boss nodded, suddenly saying, “But before that, there’s another business deal.”

Saying so, the boss suddenly smiled, then looked at Ms.

Ren the maid, “Go see what the customer needs.”

This was a business solicited by Ms.

Ren…

And the customer, naturally, was Izanami.

The boss had his hobbies, doing small business, which was a matter of course in the eyes of Ms.

Ren as long as it was his preference.

But the club ultimately needed large profit sources.

Luo Qiu didn’t resist this point, and Ms.

Ren would adhere to it while satisfying her owner to the maximum extent.

“This ‘rescue’ service is one of the most profitable projects.”

So Ms.

Ren smiled slightly, ripped open the space, and temporarily left Luo Qiu’s side—not bringing Da Zhe this time because he hadn’t reached this level yet, even though he had once received an opportunity for training, it was still far in comparison.

The reason why this so-called ‘rescue’ service was one of the most profitable projects…

That’s naturally because when possessing such strength, there was no need to rely on the power of the altar.

Therefore, the club would have emissaries like Da Zhe, inclined toward combat, to deal with such situations.
