702: Chapter 115: Cannot See the Full Moon 702: Chapter 115: Cannot See the Full Moon Although they had already decided to make a move on Nagato Saburo, there was still an entire afternoon before the evening banquet.

Mo Xiaofei and Zi Xing discussed for a while and decided to contact Nagato Tsuruko before the banquet began.

After all, no matter how you look at it, Nagato Tsuruko was likely to become the Pen Immortal from the movie… and the reason they came to Yan Wuyue was because they went to the cinema to watch the movie Pen Immortal.

Mo Xiaofei changed into the clothes of a servant of the Kondo Family, and after Zi Xing used a few different instructions to send the people around her away, she also changed into ordinary clothes, and now walked through the Nagato House gardens with Mo Xiaofei.

The Nagato House was divided into two parts, the old residence and the new residence, with the new residence being completed in recent years…

For a small samurai family in a remote area, being able to build such a large residence was indeed incredible.

But considering the income from the underground palace in the dungeon, the two were not surprised by the Nagato House’s source of funds.

The Kondo Family was obviously arranged to stay in the new residence, while Lord Nagato’s residence had always been located in the old residence, separated by a huge garden and two small buildings in between. “Add more effort and build the walls higher, it’s almost like a castle.” Zi Xing looked around—unlike Mo Xiaofei, she wasn’t already familiar with the place, so she found it a bit novel.

Along the way, they ran into a few servants of the Nagato House, but upon seeing the attire of the Kondo family, they all respectfully retreated…

After all, this was the actual main family above the Nagato House, and even among servants, there were distinctions.

Due to a previous reset, this time Zi Xing came to the Nagato House prepared before everyone’s welcome, covering her face with a veil, and saying early on that her body was unwell, so having a maid replace her at the subsequent banquet seemed more natural.

At this moment, Zi Xing did not hide herself, and even Kondo Tsukihime’s appearance was quite beautiful…

Such beauty even in a maid’s identity, and the presence of the attendant by her side, naturally made these Nagato House servants feel a sense of grandeur, becoming even more respectful.

A male servant with some status in the Nagato House gathered his courage and stepped forward. “Are you two planning to tour the area?” “This guy is called Liang Tian, considered an old hand at the Nagato House.

Although only by name, without a surname.

But he seems eager to earn a surname, the type striving to climb the ladder,” Mo Xiaofei whispered in Zi Xing’s ear. “Let me introduce myself, you two can call me Liang Tian!” Liang Tian said eagerly, rubbing his hands. “If you want to tour the nearby area, it’s best to have me along!

I’m not bragging, but there’s nothing here I don’t know about!”

Zi Xing glanced at Mo Xiaofei, who shrugged.

Only then did Zi Xing nod and indifferently say, “Then please lead us, we do wish to look around.

The Nagato House is truly built well.”

Liang Tian’s face was immediately filled with a sense of pride, probably a kind of honor working within him.

At that moment, some sobbing sounds could be faintly heard from not far away.

They saw a maid of the Nagato House tied up by two strong servants, her clothes disheveled and dirty, indicating she had been thrown to the ground… maybe even beaten. “What’s happening?” Mo Xiaofei frowned.

Liang Tian hurriedly replied, “Oh, nothing, just this maid made a bit of a mistake and is being punished.

She’s probably going to be locked up.”

As Liang Tian said, the maid was soon pushed into a small wooden house by the two servants… but Mo Xiaofei recognized this maid as Ah Xiu, who cared for Nagato Tsuruko since childhood.

According to Mo Xiaofei’s observation, Ah Xiu treated Nagato Tsuruko like a real younger sister.

He had also inquired about Ah Xiu’s background.

Ah Xiu’s parents were long-time servants of the Nagato House, but they died in an accident when she was young, making her an orphan.

Presumably, because of her orphan status, she saw Nagato Tsuruko as the embodiment of a mother, and sympathized with her father Nagato Saburo, who was often on the battlefield, unknowingly developing special feelings. “This is nothing, just a small matter,” Liang Tian suggested. “Why don’t I take you to see the next place?

Have you ever heard the story about a powerful monster in Zaodao Village?” “We know about it,” Mo Xiaofei nodded calmly.

Liang Tian immediately said, “Then you must see the ruins left from when the monster was defeated.”

Mo Xiaofei had naturally investigated such places before, but there were only some broken stones and nothing interesting.

However, Zi Xing nodded directly this time, “Please do then.” “Follow me this way!” Liang Tian led the way.

At this moment, Zi Xing whispered beside Mo Xiaofei, “I want to see those ruins with my own eyes; as for Nagato Tsuruko, I’ll leave her to you…

If there’s a chance, quietly bring her to where I’m staying now.”

Mo Xiaofei opened his mouth…

This Young Master of Greedy Wolf is indeed crazy, could it be that he plans to not only capture Nagato Saburo but also Nagato Tsuruko and take them to the dungeon, meeting up with Narukami Haru?

But splitting up does save time… Mo Xiaofei, more than Zi Xing, was eager to solve the mystery of the reset time. “Mr.

Liang Tian, I won’t be going, I still have something to handle,” Mo Xiaofei said, allowing Liang Tian to take Zi Xing away.

After the two walked away, Mo Xiaofei quietly approached the small wooden house where Ah Xiu was locked—Ah Xiu’s punishment was something new he hadn’t encountered, perhaps there would be new discoveries. …

The Nagato House had strict house rules, and even the woodshed used for confinement wasn’t locked.

The servants locked inside couldn’t leave without permission: they simply couldn’t escape because of the existence of curses.

Perhaps… they would be left starving for a long time?

Ah Xiu sat alone, rubbing the spot that had been hit with a hard object earlier, sighing, unsure how Miss Tsuruko was doing after just treating her forehead injury.

Squeak…

The door of the woodshed suddenly creaked open, and a strong figure appeared at the entrance.

The outside was too bright, and Ah Xiu couldn’t make out the features of the entrance figure, assuming it was the Nagato House’s sinister servant and inadvertently recoiled.

Miss Tsuruko was known to be unpopular at the Nagato House, a situation well-known, and as her maid, Ah Xiu understood her own poor standing… She knew this well, bullied often by other servants but she always dared not speak up or show anything in front of Miss Tsuruko. “Ah Xiu… Ah Xiu knows she was wrong,” she trembled, fearfully pleading.

Then she seemed to hear a sigh… very light, so light Ah Xiu almost thought she imagined it.

The person entered, and gradually Ah Xiu could see his face.

This wasn’t anyone from the Nagato House she knew, nor anyone from the village.

Having grown up here, there was no one she shouldn’t recognize. “Are you from the Kondo family?” Ah Xiu looked on with awe.

Because the man before her was tall and dressed in Ashigaru clothing, although not a Samurai, his standing was much higher than that of a commoner. “Are you okay?” Mo Xiaofei squatted down, his tone softening.

Having come into contact with everyone in Zaodao Village and the Nagato House, Ah Xiu naturally included… though unbeknownst to her.

Mo Xiaofei had complex feelings for Ah Xiu.

He now realized that this feeling might be called “anger at her inability to fight back.”

Continuously bullied by the Nagato House’s hostile servants, but unable to speak up, and even willing to endure in silence to prevent Nagato Tsuruko from suffering any harm.

Having a devoted maid like Ah Xiu might indeed be a blessing for Nagato Tsuruko.

However, wasn’t this very similar to him once?

Before gaining power, he too had endured great grievances outside, always showing a smile to his parents for fear of their worry.

Not because of resilience, but due to fragility, unwilling to shed tears in front of his closest family. “No… nothing.” Ah Xiu dared not look at the Kondo family’s ‘lord’ in front of her.

It wasn’t fear of a strange man… being someone bearing a curse, how could women from other villages fear men?

It was just that the Kondo family’s ‘lord’ exuded a caring gaze that made her heart ache slightly.

Miss Tsuruko was still young and naive, not understanding or knowing how to express care.

Beyond that, she only experienced it with her deceased parents.

Never had someone nobler truly cared… not even a simple greeting. “What’s wrong?

Does it still hurt a lot?

Why don’t you drink some water first?” Mo Xiaofei looked at Ah Xiu in surprise, noticing her somewhat absent gaze, and couldn’t help but frown.

In his understanding, Ah Xiu should be quite resilient.

Is it still because of the family discipline this time?

Too painful?

Women indeed have a lower tolerance for pain.

The water was from a flask he carried with him — actually, just a bamboo tube.

He pulled out the stopper and brought it to Ah Xiu’s face, smiling slightly, “Have a drink, you seem to have sweated a lot.”

It was indeed a big temptation.

Ah Xiu, who was already prepared to endure hunger and thirst, truly couldn’t resist the allure of the clear water for a moment. “Thank you…” Ah Xiu lowered her head, her face slightly flushed.

This was how she looked after quickly drinking a few sips of water.

Mo Xiaofei nodded, then sat cross-legged on the ground, looking at Ah Xiu, as more of the information he had gathered about her flashed through his mind.

The two remained silent.

Mo Xiaofei suddenly asked, “Have you ever thought about leaving this place?”

Ah Xiu’s shoulders trembled slightly, and with a face full of gloom, she gave Mo Xiaofei a bitter smile and finally shook her head, providing her answer. “Why?” “If Ah Xiu leaves here, there’s nowhere to go,” Ah Xiu said softly, “and… can’t leave here.

Outside, I can’t survive either.” “Why can’t you survive?

As long as you have hands,” Mo Xiaofei shook his head, but he knew clearly that almost all the young women in this village were harmed by that cursed lie.

If this lie is revealed now… would she believe it?

Even if she believed, could she accept it?

After all, it’s always been this way…

Mo Xiaofei believed, that underground palace, Ah Xiu had probably been there a few times.

How would she face all this?

Looking at this woman who pretended to be strong, Mo Xiaofei couldn’t help but sigh again.

Would the cruel truth destroy all her defenses?

This sinful Nagato House… such harm shouldn’t exist.

A trace of chilling intent quietly appeared in Mo Xiaofei’s eyes.

Ah Xiu instinctively shrank her body, looking again in shock.

Mo Xiaofei noticed something wrong and frowned, “What’s the matter?

Does it hurt again?” “No, it’s just, sir, you just now… just now looked…” Ah Xiu stammered, not knowing where the courage came from, “a bit scary…” “Me?” Mo Xiaofei was taken aback, subconsciously touching his face, “What was scary?”

Ah Xiu shook her head, hesitating, “Ah Xiu doesn’t know.

It’s just… a bit like when the lord is angry.” “Hmph!

Don’t compare me to that beast!” Mo Xiaofei instinctively lowered his voice, like a roaring beast. “Yes!

I’m sorry!” Ah Xiu shivered, shrinking herself even tighter, yet surprisingly seemed a bit angry: “Please, please don’t talk about the lord, he’s a good person… for us…”

Powerless, desolate.

Mo Xiaofei clenched his fists, knowing everything yet unable to speak… such powerlessness was so similar to when he was weak and had to endure?

He could only suppress the anger in his heart, to keep from losing rationality, “Let’s not talk about this, let’s talk about your things instead.” “Me?” Ah Xiu was stunned, puzzled, “Ah Xiu’s things?”

This ‘lord’ of the Kondo Family had only just arrived today and didn’t know him before, why suddenly showing interest in herself, could it be because…

Her heart raced suddenly, but she remembered she was no longer pure, feeling bitterly sad, she could only lower her head, “Ah Xiu is just an ordinary servant, nothing special.” “I heard you’re Miss Tsuruko’s servant girl, right?” “Yes.” Ah Xiu blinked, not surprised that people would know this — after all, it’s not a secret.

Thinking of Nagato Tsuruko, a slight smile appeared on Ah Xiu’s face, “Sanlang Laoye’s wife passed away early, and Miss Tsuruko was raised by Ah Xiu from a young age.” “Oh?” Mo Xiaofei nodded, unexpectedly asking, “So does this Miss Tsuruko have anything special about her?” “Ah?” Ah Xiu looked puzzled.

Mo Xiaofei didn’t want to explain too much, “What I mean is, have you ever felt anything different about Nagato Tsuruko compared to others?” “Miss Tsuruko has been very sensible since childhood,” Ah Xiu said instinctively, then seemed a bit tense, “You… sir, why are you asking about Miss Tsuruko?”

After the tension, there seemed to be a hint of vigilance.

Mo Xiaofei casually fabricated a reason, “I noticed Miss Tsuruko’s complexion seemed a bit off, so I wondered if there might be something wrong with her body.”

Anyway, no matter what, if the mystery of time resetting can’t be solved, after today Ah Xiu will forget, so Mo Xiaofei started to speak freely without any burden. “Ah!” Unexpectedly, this made Ah Xiu uneasy, subconsciously clutching Mo Xiaofei’s arm, “Sir, what’s wrong with Miss Tsuruko?”

Effective… or is it that this servant girl cares too much about her mistress? “Just tell me whether there is or isn’t,” Mo Xiaofei asked indifferently.

Ah Xiu lowered her head, deep in thought, then suddenly looked up as if she’d made some decision, “Sir, you’re the first to say there’s a problem with Miss Tsuruko’s body.” “Is that so?” Mo Xiaofei showed a surprised expression.

Ah Xiu hesitated for a moment again, “There’s something the madam told me before she passed away.

I… Can I trust you, sir?”

Trust.

It can be light or heavy… can it be responded to?

Ultimately, Mo Xiaofei nodded. “The madam said, Miss Tsuruko must never see the full moon, under no circumstances!” Ah Xiu said solemnly.
