713: Chapter 126: The Clever and Lucky Yamata no Orochi 713: Chapter 126: The Clever and Lucky Yamata no Orochi Yamata no Orochi was truly delighted, this kind of happiness even completely diluted the frustration from being slashed by the successor of the Zhan Lu Sword after breaking the seal.

Now it was sitting on a lush green hillside, right beside a cherry blossom tree in full bloom, seemingly never wilting.

However, the Yamata no Orochi sitting here did not have a shred of the elegance of someone admiring the cherry blossoms.

It was still in the form it had taken after devouring the unfortunate Shuten Doji—a breathtakingly beautiful man, every aspect was enchanting, except for those serrated teeth that utterly destroyed the beauty.

But the continuous flow of fresh blood from its mouth… perhaps leaned towards a kind of bloodthirsty aesthetic?

Yamata no Orochi was holding an arm torn from some monster, biting into it with wide-open jaws—behind it, a large pile of corpses of evil ghosts, the Myriad Gods, reincarnated monsters, and samurai lay stacked like a small mountain.

Of course, everything here lacked a physical form—be it the bones spat out after being devoured clean, or the yet uneaten corpses.

This was because everything here was built within the spiritual world, a place where souls could be unbound—while devouring the item in its hand, Yamata no Orochi instinctively looked at the cherry blossom tree before it.

It should resemble the giant cherry outside, though this much smaller cherry blossom tree contained a girl dressed in a kimono within its trunk.

A truly perfect vessel!

Yamata no Orochi couldn’t help but exclaim—it could clearly sense the immense effort required to create such a vessel.

Speaking of which, Yamata no Orochi was considered an anomaly within Xiang Liu’s family.

The Xiang Liu’s family was renowned for their extraordinary regeneration abilities, with their ideal state being nine heads.

But ever since the first generation Xiang Liu had a head chopped off by Emperor Xuanyuan, it was as if all Xiang Liu lost the possibility of evolving into nine heads.

Yet, even so, as long as one head remained, the body could perpetually regenerate.

Though Yamata no Orochi also had heads, it was naturally devoid of such powerful regeneration abilities as Xiang Liu’s family—even so, as if some mystic compensation, Yamata no Orochi possessed a more mysterious soul power—as long as its soul remained intact, it could shift repeatedly between material and spiritual forms, and even restore itself by devouring different souls.

Yamata no Orochi’s research on souls had surpassed all predecessors of Xiang Liu’s family, reaching an unbelievable height.

Because of this, situated in this peculiar space under the cherry blossom tree, Yamata no Orochi could comprehend how perfect a vessel Miki was.

As for the one who created this vessel… “What a kind person!

Too bad it’s to my benefit!” Yamata no Orochi gleefully grabbed yet another ‘corpse’ and took a happy bite.

In a short time, it had consumed so many ‘corpses’ that it could no longer tell—and had now completely restored to the level before being sealed by design… or perhaps even strengthened?

Yamata no Orochi squinted its eyes, savoring the fresh soul flavor in its mouth, which seemed to be a True Soul? “Really a great benefactor!” Yamata no Orochi laughed again, with a mysterious smile as it looked at Miki already integrated with the cherry blossom tree, pondering something unknown.

If not drunken, it was always cautious—at this moment, Yamata no Orochi was recalling the sweet fruit it had plucked and considering any mistakes… cannot let the master of this cultivated fruit have even a chance of siege recovery.

This was because it felt everything was too smooth—though not that smooth sailing was bad, for the mistrustful, being too smooth always gave a sense of unease.

At first, he appeared in Shuten Doji’s form, offering his ‘true name’ before Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto.

This ‘true name’ was indeed true, but belonged to Shuten Doji, extracted by Yamata no Orochi; otherwise, it wouldn’t fool Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto of the Three Nobles.

Even so, Yamata no Orochi had mingled other parts into the ‘true name’—a part of its own soul body.

Yamata no Orochi initially planned to silently infiltrate its part into Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto’s soul, awaiting to secretly eliminate the other two Nobles through Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto’s hand after their gathering, eventually reclaiming Yan Wuyue World’s powers originally its own.

But unexpectedly, someone else was scheming behind the scenes, not only incorporating the Three Nobles into this perfect vessel, even all their subordinates?

The rest was simple, like a mantis devoured the seed discreetly left by a magpie, subsequently a coma induced as if poisoned—thus, the magpie reaped a tremendous bargain.

Originally planning to take risks and perhaps endure some damage, Yamata no Orochi inexplicably found itself here, enjoying the sweet fruit—basically a walkover!

Just then, the cherry blossom tree quivered, with three cracks suddenly appearing on its trunk, expelling Amaterasu-ōmikami, Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto, and Susanoo-no-Mikoto directly.

However, part remained in the tree trunk, and Yamata no Orochi smirked cunningly, tossing aside the ‘arm’ it hadn’t finished eating, and stepped towards Susanoo-no-Mikoto.

Yamata no Orochi laughed loudly at this moment: “Little dog, if Izanami, that forsaken woman hadn’t schemed behind my back, do you think you really had the ability to seal me inside the Ten Fists Sword?”

Saying so, Yamata no Orochi extended its hand toward Susanoo-no-Mikoto’s head… but just before touching, suddenly it withdrew sharply.

Its expression shifted tremendously, as in the moment it almost touched Susanoo-no-Mikoto, it keenly sensed something eerie separating them—as soon as touching Susanoo-no-Mikoto, danger loomed over it.

Now, Yamata no Orochi sneered endlessly, suddenly turned, to find not far away a bizarre man—Arex!

Arex wore a regretful expression.

Who just returned to this space, saw Yamata no Orochi intending to devour Susanoo-no-Mikoto’s power, felt moved, and quietly laid a trap on Susanoo-no-Mikoto’s body, yet didn’t expect Yamata no Orochi to be so keen. “Are you the guy who created this vessel?” At this moment, Yamata no Orochi inspected Arex up and down—having escaped to the Yan Wuyue World for some time and being sealed, Yamata no Orochi was blank on the events occurring on the Divine Land Continent and beyond, not able to easily judge Arex’s origins. “Yamata no Orochi, trespassing others’ homes, and taking the owner’s things at will, isn’t that inappropriate?” Arex sighed, “You are not going to escape this time.” “Just with you?” Yamata no Orochi laughed boisterously, exhibiting an unabashed arrogant stance, “Don’t you require ample power extraction from this vessel to challenge that disgusting forsaken woman Izanami?

Can you extract even a little power now?

Don’t joke around… might as well count yourself as my snack!” “Yamata!

Who are you calling a disgusting forsaken woman!”

With Yamata no Orochi’s words just dropped, a sharp, chilling voice wondrously rose!

At the same time, the lush green hillside instantly withered.

In the sky above, encased in the aura of the Yellow Springs, Izanami gazed downward. “Oh?

Seems you two plan to join forces?” Yamata no Orochi astutely perceived the simultaneous appearance of Arex and Izanami, and what it implicated.

This Izanami was a rival engaged many times before, neither could decidedly prevail—roughly equals…

But Arex, considering he cleverly orchestrated the plan to steal Yan Wuyue World’s powers, is not an easy opponent—otherwise, Izanami wouldn’t cooperate with Arex.

Although there’s a hint of being compelled by circumstances.

At this moment, Izanami was staring intently at Yamata no Orochi, and Arex’s gaze also remained focused on Yamata no Orochi.

As for Yamata no Orochi, its eyes darted back and forth between Arex and Izanami.

Things have progressed to this point, so arguing is no longer appropriate, leaving the three parties in a peculiar silence.

Unexpectedly, Arex suddenly smiled slightly and said, “Yamata no Orochi, this is the space I created back then.

Although you severed my connection with Miki, within this space, your power will ultimately be affected.

You stand no chance against me and Izanami.”

Izanami did not respond to these words.

Yamata no Orochi coolly said, “Oh?

Are you telling me to surrender?”

Arex sighed and said, “I just want to solve the problem peacefully.

Using force is the most barbaric act.

Even with Izanami, I was willing to negotiate initially, but unfortunately, we couldn’t reach an agreement.”

Yamata no Orochi suddenly raised its fist, exhaled, and sneered, “Having a big fist is the way!

Also, put away your petty tricks, when it comes to the art of the soul, I am the ancestor!

You’re just a jumping clown!”

Yamata no Orochi’s clenched fist suddenly relaxed, and waves spread from its fingertips.

At the same time, the entire strange space on the hillside began to fracture like a broken mirror, with visible cracks spreading everywhere.

Arex’s face changed slightly, weighing everything, and suddenly shouted loudly, “Izanami, quickly reclaim the Three Nobles!” “I don’t need you to teach me!” Izanami snorted coldly, flipping her hand and frantically slamming towards Yamata no Orochi, immediately unleashing a ghostly aura from the depths of Yellow Springs capable of polluting even souls.

At this moment, Yamata no Orochi scoffed disdainfully and countered forcefully with a backhand blow, actually repelling Izanami with a single strike, “Izanami!

Others fear your ghostly aura from Yellow Springs, but I do not!

In these thousand years you’ve sealed me, my consciousness has been constantly researching how to break through your ghostly aura… you disgusting forsaken woman!” “Yamata!

You’re courting death!!” “Forsaken woman, you dare leave Yatsumi Palace, you’re the one seeking death!” Yamata no Orochi suddenly burst into wild laughter, “Amongst us, we are peers, and as long as you stay in Yatsumi Palace and sit securely at the origin of the world’s fragments, I am indeed not your match!

But you’ve left!

Foolish forsaken woman!

Even more foolish is that since you’ve left, you shouldn’t have attempted to maintain Yan Wuyue’s operation while also trying to deal with me!

And that clownish fellow over there, I told you not to play tricks, when it comes to the art of the soul, I am your ancestor!!”

While blocking Izanami’s attack, Yamata no Orochi’s other arm unexpectedly grew wildly, its palm transformed into a ferocious tongue, its arm as a serpent’s body, not biting towards Arex, but opening a cavernous maw towards the Sakura Tree!

But just as the serpent formed by its arm was about to touch the Sakura Tree, something blocked it— Arex’s body at its original position twisted and disappeared, replaced by another Arex standing under the Sakura Tree.

In his hands were two cross-shaped controls for puppeteering, with two small puppets now forcibly halting Yamata no Orochi’s serpent hand under the control of the strings on the crosses.

With this block, the serpent hand of Yamata no Orochi could no longer advance a single half-step.

Seeing this, Izanami also didn’t miss the opportunity, carrying an extremely fierce stance, suddenly opened her rotting mouth, and spewed forth endless Waters of the Netherworld!

The Waters of the Netherworld, which pollutes upon contact, instantly engulfed Yamata no Orochi’s entire body, only to produce a muffled sound from Yamata no Orochi, as if enduring enormous pain.

Seeing this, Arex quickly approached Miki, attempting to restore the severed connection between himself and Miki…

The plan to steal Yan Wuyue time had already failed, and the changes ahead were too many, making it inadvisable to take further risks.

His most urgent task now was to extract a sufficient number of True Souls from the vitreous container to redeem the items he had pawned at the club. “Miki…” Arex softly called out.

On the other side, Izanami, who was fiercely suppressing Yamata no Orochi, surprisingly managed to spare some energy!

Her hideous body split a portion of decaying flesh.

That flesh fell to the ground, instantly enlarging, transforming in the blink of an eye into an extraordinarily beautiful clone, directly under the Sakura Tree!

Without even glancing at Arex, the clone swung its hand towards the Sakura, intending to rescue the Three Nobles just like that!

The cries of Yamata no Orochi grew louder and louder… “Miki!” Arex pressed his forehead against Miki’s once more.

And Izanami’s beautiful clone also successfully rescued Susanoo-no-Mikoto, one of the Three Nobles, and the next target was Amaterasu-ōmikami! “Lord Arex…”

Miki’s eyelids slightly fluttered open.

Seeing that the connection had been reestablished, Arex subconsciously breathed a sigh of relief, but in that instant, twin beams of golden light shot from Miki’s eyes, piercing directly into Arex’s eyes!

Ah——!!!

Ah——!!!

Two successive cries of agony sounded!

One was from Arex!

His eyes, struck by the golden strange light, caused such discomfort that he clutched his eyes in pain, collapsing to his knees!

The other, Izanami’s beautiful clone, was already stabbed directly through the arm by the newly rescued Susanoo-no-Mikoto! “Ah… so painful… hahahaha!!

Fooled you all!”

At this moment, Yamata no Orochi, still within the corrosive Waters of the Netherworld, let out another maniacal, savage laugh.

With a tremor of its body, it repelled all of the Waters of the Netherworld around it, “Idiots!

The Three Nobles possess a part of my power, why wouldn’t I just devour them immediately, waiting for you to snatch them?

Arex, did you think this place still belonged to you?

It’s long been under my control!

I told you, when it comes to the art of the soul, I am the ancestor!!”

With a wave of Yamata no Orochi’s hand, the hillside space instantly shattered!

In front of them, the towering Sakura Tree stretched into the clouds, clearly still amidst the ruins of Zaodao Village!

Seeing Arex’s eyes, directly blinded by its machinations, and the stunned and angry Izanami, Yamata no Orochi was quite pleased!

It once again clenched its fist, exhaled, and squinted with a sly grin, “The fist is the reason!

And besides, this Lord has a brain!

You lost fair and square!

This piece of Yan Wuyue World is mine now!!!”
