712: Chapter 125: The Loners’ Temporary Alliance 712: Chapter 125: The Loners’ Temporary Alliance After sending the white orb back to where it was supposed to be, the Yan Wuyue World suddenly began to tremble!

The source was the petals falling from the gigantic Sakura Tree.

Countless petals swirled in the wind, as if a massive Sakura rain was about to fall over the entire Yan Wuyue World.

The petals landed and transformed into seeds, and one giant tree after another suddenly rose in the cities of the Yan Wuyue World.

Numerous active tree roots emerged from the ground, devouring one entity after another.

Feeling the whole world engulfed in panic, Da Zhe suddenly opened his eyes and tore off the key hanging around his neck.

A massive tree root abruptly appeared at this moment.

The key transformed into a golden sword that directly severed the tree root.

Da Zhe snorted coldly, and the severed tree root, seemingly hesitating over something, slowly retreated into the ground and disappeared. “Boss?” Da Zhe frowned and looked towards Luo Qiu.

Boss Luo just shook his head.

The Maid looked at Da Zhe and said, “Don’t mind it.

Have you forgotten what Arex said as the trade payment when signing the contract back then?”

Da Zhe’s heart trembled as he recalled—Arex had agreed to give one-third of the True Soul of the Yan Wuyue World, but because he hadn’t obtained this world, he used an old suitcase as a pledge instead.

Since this old suitcase was merely a pledge, it indicated that what Arex needed to retrieve—there was only one way to retrieve it, to submit the agreed one-third True Soul! “Is this… this guy forcibly plundering the souls of Yan Wuyue World?” Da Zhe couldn’t help showing a horrified expression. “This is the true world-class nightmare,” You Ye nodded. “Let’s see if Arex can succeed under the wrath of Izanami.”

At this moment, the boss made a gesture for silence and gazed towards the gigantic Sakura Tree… … …

With a pale face, Arex wiped away a trace of blood from the corner of his mouth with his finger.

He glanced at the redness on his finger for a moment, then ceased to care about the severe injury he had just received—from the moment Izanami revealed her true form, he understood his plan had already failed.

The cost of one-third of the world’s True Souls, in exchange for the club’s intervention.

But in the choice between Izanagi and Izanami, he chose wrong with Izanagi, leading to Izanami’s desperate counterattack.

One wrong move, and the whole game is lost.

But if he had chosen Izanami, then the value of that one-third True Soul would have seemed unusually cheap… the club even seemed to be doing a losing business.

Yet even so, the club would still intervene—that’s the spirit of the contract.

Precisely because of the one out of two choice, one side would be very easy, the other extremely difficult, the combined effect offering a relatively cheaper price—Arex couldn’t help but smirk; if he had investigated more about Izanami’s background, he might not have lost… even if the cost of True Souls had to far exceed one-third of Yan Wuyue World’s count.

Nonetheless, Arex was not the type to wallow in self-pity, to become dispirited after suffering a setback.

He quickly understood what he needed to do at the moment—try to acquire a large amount of True Souls to pay the club’s fee, retrieve his suitcase, and then leave the Yan Wuyue World.

As long as he returned to the main real world, Izanami wouldn’t dare easily pursue him, and he would be safe… the only real pity was Miki.

On a section of the gigantic Sakura Tree, looking at Miki, whose body had almost merged with the Sakura Tree, with only half exposed, Arex reached out to gently caress her face, “Miki… devour this world.”

This was just at the beginning of the sakura petals wafting across the earth…

Feeling the continuously devoured beings and incessantly extracting the power of this nightmare, Arex’s pale face started to regain a hint of blood color, and he sighed, “Truly a perfect container… what a pity.”

But Arex suddenly frowned—because he clearly felt something in the perfect container of Miki’s body that he couldn’t control!

The flow of the nightmare’s power was beginning to weaken, seemingly on the verge of breaking!

And as the creator, the link between him and Miki seemed to be severed!

Who could be secretly sabotaging… the club?

No!

Arex almost immediately dismissed this thought; he was keenly aware of the club’s stance, that transcending above all… utterly disdaining such petty maneuvers.

Arex subconsciously pressed his forehead against Miki’s, then closed his eyes.

Moments later, he opened them again with a serious expression, “Yamata no Orochi… Yan Wuyue is still hiding such a thing?” “Shameful intruder… you dare to plunder my True Soul?”

A cold and resentful voice appeared behind Arex; the arrival was…

Izanami!

Ugly in body, hateful with terrifying eyes.

Arex’s face changed slightly but quickly returned to calmness… because he discovered within the Yan Wuyue World another invader preceding him: Yamata no Orochi. “Ms.

Izanami, I think we can actually have a proper discussion.” Arex said unhurriedly.

Izanami sneered continuously, approaching step by step.

Arex said calmly, “I am indeed no match for you, but if you want to kill me, it will cost you dearly.

If that happens, I’m afraid you won’t be able to keep your Yan Wuyue World safe either.” “Shameful intruder, do you think I would believe you?” Izanami wouldn’t listen, and a deluge of Waters of the Netherworld surged behind her.

Arex felt the terror of these Waters of the Netherworld, his heart pounding… truly facing this lesser divine power, his current level of power was still too inadequate. “Yamata no Orochi, has resurfaced.” Arex said slowly at this moment, “And there’s another piece of bad news for both you and me, Yamata no Orochi is reclaiming the world power you once took from it… from the Three Nobles!”

Yet Izanami did not dismiss the Waters of the Netherworld, instead she locked her gaze tightly on Arex—this intruder wielded strange power; even for her, possessing lesser divine power, his miraculous power caused her to fall into delusion.

Not long ago at Yatsumi Palace, precisely because of being influenced, she fell into a brief illusion, allowing this hateful intruder the chance to escape.

Arex shook his head, “I inadvertently found the existence of Yan Wuyue and nearly acquired one-third of the world power with ease.

Initially, I thought it was because you and Izanagi co-managed this world, which scattered the power, allowing my success.

Now it seems that’s not the case… the fundamental reason is that this portion of power had already been imprinted with something’s brand marking!

Its true master had merely been sealed, and what I acquired was just what belonged to its master!

Izanami…

I think even you were helpless against this part of the power, hence you intercepted a small portion to embellish and bestow separately to the Three Nobles, correct?” “You are very weak right now.” Izanami sneered, “Dealing with you won’t take much time!

Since I once defeated Yamata no Orochi, I can do it again now!

Don’t forget, Yamata no Orochi has merely just broken its seal, not in peak state!” “But I can escape, and although there will be a price to pay, you simply can’t stop me.” Arex narrowed his eyes, “You won’t easily return to the main real world… because once you return, you’ll expose the coordinates of the Yan Wuyue World.

Ms.

Izanami, I think you should understand what kind of lure a Fragmented World holds for those with medium divine power or above, right?

Moreover, before leaving, I could let Yamata no Orochi easily reclaim the power that belongs to it.” “Damn you!!” Izanami’s anger caused her entire body of decaying flesh to wriggle suddenly.

Arex said, “Remember the question I asked you…

Miss Izanami, how wonderful it would be if, back then at the Chihiki Stone, you and Izanagi hadn’t made such a decisive declaration…” “Damn it!

The illusion you cast on me in the Yatsumi Palace, you really were peeping at my…” Izanami suddenly screamed, and the Waters of the Netherworld surged frantically towards Arex! “I can help cleanse you of this Yomi-no-iki, and restore your original appearance…” Arex softly said.

The surging spring water suddenly halted, and Izanami stared intently at Arex, speechless.

After glancing at the stopped Izanami, Arex spoke again, “Do you know of the club?

I know that after I leave, the club’s maid will definitely not miss the chance to sell to you.

I also know that as long as you are willing to make a deal with the club, you can equally cleanse the Yomi-no-iki and restore your true form…

But you must know, this would come at a great price since the Yomi-no-iki has thoroughly merged with your Divine Soul, and separating them from it is so difficult, I think you should know this better than I do.

However, as long as you spare me, this price can be minimized…” “Why should I trust you?” Izanami was silent for a long time before finally squeezing out her words.

Arex sighed and murmured, “Even having a Fragmented World alone is still alone.

Even if there’s a slight chance of breaking that loneliness, I too would fly into the flame…

Even knowing that it might still be an illusion.” “You too…” Izanami suddenly quieted down, and a long time after, she coldly said, “Yamata no Orochi, at what stage has it reached?” “Come with me.” Arex nodded.

Izanami asking this question already proved that a temporarily unstable cooperative relationship had thus begun… … …

Zaodao Village remained very peaceful, at least on the surface it seemed so.

The next day, no one noticed Nagato Saburo’s disappearance… or rather, even if Nagato Saburo suddenly disappeared for a day or two, people wouldn’t find it strange.

Because ever since returning from the battlefield to heal, Nagato Saburo would get drunk every now and then, and once was even found by servants in the river, with half his body soaked in water, barely escaping being washed away by the river—however, another matter was discussed among the Nagato family’s servants.

That was Miss Nagato Tsuruko came down with some illness and had not woken up.

There was no physician in Zaodao Village, but there was an elder who understood some pharmacology.

But after examining her, the elder shook their head, saying they didn’t know what was happening.

However, Miss Tsuruko showed no signs of distress, breathing as though merely asleep, peacefully. “It seems that the temporary maid taking care of Nagato Tsuruko didn’t dare say anything.”

In the courtyard where Miss Kondo Family Tsukihime was staying, after sending the people away, Zi Xing and Mo Xiaofei were discussing what to do next. “Nagato Tsuruko is innocently comatose, but at least she’s still here.” Mo Xiaofei rubbed his chin and said, “So even if she saw me, knew I knocked her out, and even realized Tsuruko’s coma is related to me, she wouldn’t dare speak up.

She’s more afraid of the Nagato family’s punishment, so she chooses to remain silent.” “Makes sense.” Zi Xing nodded and said, “Nagato Munachika didn’t show up today.

Officially it’s said he caught a cold last night after the dinner party and is sick, unable to go out.

I guess he might always be in the dungeon now…

Don’t forget, he captured a ‘god’!”

Mo Xiaofei nodded, “But no matter what, we can’t act recklessly now.

Let’s see if we can last through the third day without a time reset…

If it resets, we’d just have to let history replay once more to find out what Nagato Munachika did after capturing the goddess.”

If time were to reset once again… that would mean letting Nagato Saburo die once more, following the steps, there shouldn’t be too much deviation.

Zi Xing nodded and suddenly asked, “Lord Mo, how do you feel?

I feel like I’ve regained a bit more strength.”

After a night’s rest, Zi Xing felt the meager increase in her demonic power, though it remained quite weak. “About twenty percent.” Mo Xiaofei sensed, “It keeps recovering but is starting to slow down… there must be a limit.” “Let’s hold our ground for these two days and wait for the end of the third day.” Zi Xing also nodded.

At that moment, outside the door, a Kondo family’s samurai suddenly called out.

Zi Xing gestured for Mo Xiaofei to stay silent.

Mo Xiaofei cautiously hid behind a folding screen. “What’s the matter?” Zi Xing called out nonchalantly. “Miss Tsukihime, outside the courtyard, there’s this guy named Liang Tian claiming to be a servant from the Nagato house.” The samurai reported completely, “He claims to be looking for a maid named Ah Zi.

But we don’t have anyone named Ah Zi here, though he doesn’t seem to be lying, so I came to report to you just in case!” “I understand, have him wait in the side room; I’ll arrange things.” Zi Xing instructed calmly.

Liang Tian… could it be news about the blurred inscriptions under the fox statue’s plinth? … “Liang Tian, what’s the matter?” “It is indeed Miss Ah Zi!

See, I told you, but the samurai outside insisted I was a liar!” Liang Tian clasped his hands, still fawning. “Speak of what’s brought you here.” Zi Xing was still veiled, but her eyes showed an inherent authority.

Startled, Liang Tian dared not raise his head, lowering and saying, “It’s like this, regarding the inscriptions on the statue’s plinth that Miss Ah Zi mentioned, after asking around I did find a rubbing in a certain household in the village.

Miss Ah Zi, knowing your interest, I made quite an effort to bring it.”

Without showing any emotion, Zi Xing nodded, “Well done, I’ll tell my lady Miss Tsukihime when I return, to put in a good word with Lord Nagato for you…

Now, let me have a look at the thing first.”

A nearly moldy scroll was slowly presented by Liang Tian to Zi Xing, who even carefully unfurled it for her.

Zi Xing always read quickly, her eyes swift and retentive, and after just a glance, she grasped the content thoroughly.

Her expression remained calm; Liang Tian, though adept at reading emotions, could discern nothing…

It seemed this Kondo Family’s Miss Ah Zi wasn’t too surprised?

Liang Tian couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed.

Yet at this moment, Zi Xing was far from the semblance of outward calm.

Within her heart, great waves were already surging!
