Having changed into winter attire, Nero, who slowed her pace in front of Boss Luo, merely appeared as a girl with white-dyed hair in an urban setting, somewhat unconventional.

No one would be able to draw more associations to her past, present, or future.

Walking in the bustling city, Luo Qiu noticed a certain unusual elation in Nero’s demeanor.

In front of a cake shop display on the street, she placed both hands against the glass window almost touching her face to it, gazing intently at a freshly displayed matcha cake.

“Want to eat?” Luo Qiu curiously asked—just half an hour ago they had a large breakfast in the hotel suite.

Nero nodded, following her body’s instincts, clapping her hands together, pleading, “Boss!

Buy me one, please, I have no money.”

This small poverty-stricken yet candid smile made Luo Qiu enter the cake shop helplessly, then came out with the matcha cake already packed.

“Thank you, Boss!” Nero said happily, eating the piece of cake as she walked.

Like a little girl enjoying the winter sunshine…

Whether, if danger suddenly appeared now, she could still maintain this poor yet candid smile as if telling the world who she truly is?

“Logically, Ms.

Nero shouldn’t encounter financial difficulties.”

Nero naturally replied, “Previously, such situations didn’t occur.

As for the club, they have secret offices all over the world—there are quite a few in this country.

After all, among the twenty-six seats holding authority, several seem to be from this country.

But as you said, how could someone like a fighter lack pocket change while roaming outside?

I’m talking about the fighters, Boss, you understand, right?”

Pretending to be dead after the battle with Kuck, she’s currently probably marked temporarily as deceased on the Michael Club’s list—Nero naturally couldn’t recklessly enjoy the benefits as a fighter like before.

Watching Nero happily finish a piece of matcha cake, leaving crumbs by her lips, Luo Qiu took out a handkerchief and offered it to her.

“Thank you.” Nero wasn’t shy, casually wiping her lips with it.

“Want more?” Luo Qiu asked with a smile.

“If possible, could I have another piece~”

Boss Luo nodded—it’s Nero’s time to buy; she doesn’t seem to mind spending it this way.

And so another matcha cake was placed in front of her.

Watching Nero still show an expression of happiness, Luo Qiu finally found a connection between this moment’s Nero and the Nero he interacted with before.

“Is food very important to you?”

“Yes.”

Nero paused, holding the cake with both hands, suddenly speaking softly, “If there’s something in this world that will never betray you, it’s definitely food.

If there’s someone who would unconditionally sacrifice for you, it’s certainly food…

Before anyone enjoys life, love, or shows hatred and sadness, all biological signs, aren’t they because they have food?”

She looked at Boss Luo, “Since food is this important, I’m grateful while eating it.”

Luo Qiu smiled, “Is it delicious?”

Nero softly said, “Anything that can fill the stomach is delicious.”

Though saying so, she wasn’t indulging in a gourmet state, because whether it’s a small piece of cake or a lavish meal, Nero devoured them almost swallowing.

It seems, enjoying food time, to her, is a true luxury.

So when she swallowed the second piece of cake, she clearly choked.

At this time, Boss Luo stretched out his hand, a bottle of mineral water from a convenience store fridge across the street disappeared, then landed in his palm—meanwhile, the cash register inexplicably had three more dollars deducted.

“Phew…

Saved!

Almost became the first Club Deity General to choke to death!”

This, of course, was said jokingly.

Nero wiped the water traces on her lips with her sleeve, looked at Luo Qiu, blinking, “Boss, how much time is left?”

“Just over five hours and seventeen minutes.”

“Five hours huh…” Nero suddenly stood up, reaching out and pulling Luo Qiu’s hand excitedly, “In that case, don’t waste time!

Boss, want to join me for a round!”

…

Screaming excitedly, eyes shining with fervor, her face seemed flushed with excitement, Nero tightened her legs.

“Up…

up up!!

Yes!!

Like that!!

Boss, you’re amazing!!!

Harder!

A little harder!

I’m almost there!

It’s about to come out…

it’s out!

Ahhh!!”

The release of an incredibly intense object, the large gun was raised—the victory scene of this arcade mech game appeared before Luo Qiu and Nero.

The opposing side’s gigantic arcade machine contrastingly expressed the opponent’s unwilling voice, “Come on, let’s play another round!”

“Who’s afraid of who!” Nero stood up immediately, reached out and pulled down her eyelid, making a face and sticking out her tongue at the opponent.

The opposing two might be around thirty years old, probably already calm and composed, surprisingly enraged, gritting their teeth—because this was quite an old arcade game.

And here, a generation’s memories, the arcade that had been phased out by time—Luo Qiu had once witnessed a soul’s birth here.

Now, undoubtedly, immersed in the arcade’s fallen atmosphere…

here, exceptionally quiet.

Opposite the arcade were two people reminiscing over childhood times.

Were they good at this back then?

Luo Qiu held the pink joystick—the gameplay personally taught by Nero.

“Didn’t expect Ms.

Nero to be so familiar with products of this era.”

Nero rolled her eyes, “Isn’t it like this here?

In many places outside, these arcades are still popular, alright…

Wow!!

Boss, take it easy, you’re too far ahead, watch out for landmines!”

Luo Qiu sat here for the first time, playing such a game…

it was quite novel.

Time was tickling away, and Nero and Luo Qiu’s pair kept defeating the two uncles on the opposite side.

“I can’t…

can’t beat it at all!

You guys are amazing!”

The two uncles finally admitted defeat, surrendering.

One of them even went to the arcade counter to buy some drinks and share with Nero and Luo Qiu.

Boss Luo looked surprisingly at the cola placed before him, while Nero had no hesitations, already drinking away, “Indeed, drinking cola after exercise is the best!”

“Yes, right!” The uncle laughed heartily.

Watching Nero and the two uncles act like friends met at a roadside night stall, chugging cola, Boss Luo finally reached out to accept this goodwill.

Time was lost here again.

Yet Nero still excitedly sat back in front of the machine, and by now the two uncles have left together.

Perhaps they were childhood friends till now, or maybe they met here, forging today’s bond.

Luo Qiu leaned against the machine, “Game coins are running out, do you want to continue?”

“If it’s used up, then it’s used up.” Nero replied without turning her head, fully absorbed, “I wouldn’t hold back.”
